We believe in possibilities
We believe in the power of science to dramatically improve peoples livesand protect the planet we all share. DuPont is putting its science to work to help transform the suns potential into clean, efficient energy the world needs to thrive. As a result, DuPont provides some of the worlds most innovative materials for photovoltaic (PV) solar cells and modules. In fact, DuPont materials have been at the forefront of innovations for more than three decades, setting new PV industry standards around the world. Today, our solutions are helping to significantly lower overall PV system costs to enable the industry to reach grid parity faster. We also believe in the power of collaboration. Thats why we work closely with others throughout the PV industry and develop technology partnerships to help create solar modules that run more efficiently, last longer and make solar energy a more viable alternative for everyone.

continuing innovation
Since creating the first purified silicon for PV use more than 55 years ago, DuPont has continued to revolutionize the industry. Our innovation capability has led to the development of market-leading materials for cell metallization, module encapsulation, backsheet protection and other solar applications, helping to continuously improve the efficiency, lifetime/performance and cost of PV systems. This innovation is driven by our research and development labs located in North America, Europe and Asia. DuPont aggressively invests in materials innovations that are designed to work together to help meet the industrys cost-down roadmap. We also continue to invest in capacity expansionsto meet the need for new innovative solutions to support solar industry growthand in the development of technologiesto address different applications within the industry. Looking forward, we see a rich set of new materials developments that will drive the industry to grid parity and beyond. DuPont will continue to play a critical role by developing materials that deliver on the industrys high-efficiency crystalline silicon roadmap and enable robust, low-cost thin film technologies. The promise of tomorrow is becoming a reality today powered by the solar innovations of DuPont.

Materials matter in Pv
For solar power to become the long-term chosen renewable energy source globally, it must first reach grid parity and become cost competitive (without the aid of government subsidies) to other forms of electricity. For grid parity to be achieved, overall PV system costs must be reduced. Materials play a unique and critical role in making this happenand DuPont products continue to lead the way. Thats why more than 70% of all solar modules ever made use DuPont materials. Our products help lower PV LCOE (levelized cost of energy) by impacting cell and module efficiency, lifetime and performance. Increased efficiency and extended lifetime result in improved power output over time, thereby reducing overall system cost.

DuPont puts its science to work to offer the PV industry a broad product portfolio of solutions for traditional crystalline silicon and thin film modules. More than 70% of all solar modules ever made use DuPont materials.
