ANSWER TO QUESTIN NUMBER 1 Alex has monotonous job to do every day. His effort is always unappreciated by his supervisor Dan. There is neither job freedom nor there is any feedback .He gets demotivated. Stephanie has a different supervisor, Jonathan. Jonathan believes in rotation of job, variety of skills, significance of task, appreciation for hard work and employee empowerment. Stephanie gets motivated. ANSWER TO QUESTION NUMBER 2 Alex underpayment for work relates to this theory. Alex lacks the feedback from Dan, his boss and Dan never challenges Alex to work at supermarkets which makes Alex unsatisfied with job. Stephanie is given interesting tasks with variety of functions with challenges to meet and rewards if done successfully. Alexs pay rate after two years is lower than those who have been recently hired. All these factors demotivated Alex and made him believe that working hard will not be rewarded with high pay. ANSWER TO QUESTION NUMBER 3: Alex knocks his boss's lunch on the floor because his boss treats him unfairly. Alex feels he is getting neither the pay he thinks he deserves nor the respect, dignity or concern that he believes is rightfully owed to him as a hard working person. The rewards received by Alex and Stephanie are unequal as both have the same job but are getting paid differently. Dan makes unfair requests on Alex and constantly says degrading and unnecessary comments to prove his authority. Alex does not feel like he can talk to Dan about desired outcomes. In order to improve the fairness of his treatment, Dan should stop making derogatory comments about Alex. Dan should also raise Alex's pay to match Stephanie's so that Alex would feel that an organizational justice has been done to him.
