INTRODUCTION

This Project is about expressions in English. This is an important subject, because these expressions are very useful in the English life and because the translation is very different in Spanish. This project aims to look for expression in American English and British English. Also to Im going to make a dictionary, where you will find all expressions. Beside you will find example and link about the subjects used in this project, the project aim to teach you some words used usually in English. You will improve your English with this project, where you will know new words and new expressions used in a different countries that its language is English.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE

Know the different expressions of your everyday life and their uses in a country where speaks English.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

Make a dictionary that contains all words and expressions. Show examples where use some words and expressions. Show links of videos about English life.

MAIN IDEA

Give to know the different greetings, asking for help and directions, expressions use to show feelings, also the expression are used in a different countries where speak English. SUB-IDEAS This contains a table including the following: English phrases, expressions and words in English, conversation and idioms, English greetings and survival phrases or simply if you want to know what to say when chatting. Most of the sentences below are used for the everyday life conversations, so they might come handy if you memorize them. Analyze the words and expression, and know when use the expressions and phrases, beside is very important know the language English. Improve fluency, watching the videos show in the link leave here in the project. The way to use appropriately the expressions in which you can do a good use of these expressions. Enjoy to learn English, is shown that is more easy learn English if you are entertaining learning English. Use the expressions for a job or some reason personal, knowing the context in the mean that is using the expression.

ENGLISH EXPRESSIONS

The next are the expressions of more commonly use inside people, where can help to somebody to communicate. These can be divided in several groups depending on the message you want to send or the situation is happening. This classification is shown below with examples.

COMMON EXPRESIONS: They are expressions of very everyday use among people who live around. Generally they are composed of short phrases that say, highlight or explain an event inside the same conversation. Here, some expressions you can use: Thats fine. Sure. Thats enough. It doesnt matter. Its no serious. Me too.

COGRATULATIONS AND COMMISERATIONS: These phrases show the state of mind from a person, it can be directed to situations where person stands an action from another one or recognize a bad event happened. It means, it indicates the good and bad from an event. Examples.

Congratulations. Congratulations. Good luck. Happy easter. Happy birthday.

Commiserations: Glad to hear it. Sorry to hear that. Never mind. What a pity.

THANKS AND APOLOGIES In this occasion, the expressions contained in this group are responses to actions which a person does directly over another one; it can be good or bad. Every action well done by an individual to another generally it is used as a thanks expression, saying its conformity; furthermore a bad action from an event gives an apology. Examples. Thanks Thanks for your help. Thanks for your hospitality.

Apologies Im sorry. Sorry Im late.

EXCLAMATIONS

Right now, it comes to expressions that indicate a strong exaltation in an event for example surprise. In all written situation where is made an exclamation we must use the exclamation mark that means the strong impact of something that has happened. Examples. Look! Damn it! Thats life.

COMMON QUESTIONS They are different questions that appear in the middle of a conversation in which it is found an explanation. Unlike last classification, whenever you perform any written question, it must be used the single question mark. Examples. Where are you? Is anything wrong? Really? Are yo usure?

INSTRUCTIONS They express mandate or performance of an act against a person in the conversation. Exmples. Come in! Lets go! Calm down. Hang a second. Take your time.

This kind of expressions can be useful to someone who talks about the language is learning either to ask a phrase a little understood or to claim the sort of language is known. Examples. What languages can you speak? I speak. Did you understand? Do you understand?

EXPRESING NEEDS AND FEELINGS These expressions help to know or understand what a person thinks or feels inside a conversation. Generally they can express the psychological mood of a person who says it. Examples. Im tired. Im hungry. Im in good mood. I cant be bothered.

MORE WAYS TO GREET OR SAY GOODBYE TO SOMEONE As they are called, they are used as the opening or the ending of a Little conversation, to engage in dialogue generally it is begun with a single hello and when this conversation ends it is said a friendly goodbye. Examples. Long time no see. See you. Welcome Ta-ta for now.

ASKING AND EXPRESSING OPINIONS

As you can see, these expressions are very helpful when you want to say or question about a fact either an affirmation or a question within the same opinion. Examples. What do you think? I agree Youre right I think so.

CONCLUSIONS When you learn another language, its necessary to use all basic expressions that allow the communication with a native person from any English speaking country, in this way you wont have difficulties when you make a conversation among two or more people. Each one of the different expressions said are very useful in determinate situations. Their correct use inside a right situation can achieve fluency when you make a conversation with someone else.
