Nordson systems for application of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) and polyurethane (PUR) moisture-curing reactive adhesives provide repeatable process control to manufacturing. The Nordson product offering includes: application specific guns, heads and nozzles; bulk and tank melters; pattern controls; and hoses. There are numerous production advantages realized using Nordson equipment. A few highlights are listed below. Consistent adhesive temperature and viscosity is maintained with Nordson bulk melter systems in applications such as roll coating. These bulk melters help eliminate the loss of thermal energy that results from having to constantly refill adhesive tanks. Nordson bulk melters also help control the adhesive coating weight necessary to produce consistent adhesive bonds.

Nordson tank systems have melt zones and tank level controls to enhance adhesive thermal control. This control helps make bonding conditions, and consequently product quality, consistent and repeatable. Adhesive deposition is controlled via metering gear pumps. The ability to provide accurate, repeatable coating weights reduces adhesive usage and rework. Positive displacement application control provides enhanced adhesive penetration onto substrates such as chipboard. The result is superior product quality and performance while reducing adhesive usage. Nordson offers closed adhesive application systems. Closed systems protect adhesive from changes in atmospheric temperature as well as from contamination from airborne particles. Elimination of these conditions improves bonding characteristics and product quality. Additionally, closed systems offer significant maintenance savings by eliminating the clean-up and repair required with open wheel pots.
