Project and Presentation: You will demonstrate evidence of your knowledge of Engineering Management by a written report and presentation.

This is a group project. The group will range from four to five members. The report will be as follows: Your team will select a product development topic (product development, implementation or operational support) and examine it from an engineering management perspective as a case study. You will study the topic and include in your report, as a minimum, the following information: Organizational Structure Management Structure Planning Function Product Development Model Global Diversity Strategic Planning Teams and Teamwork Controlling Process and Systems

I strongly recommend that each the team select their topic not later then the third (3) week of class, October 5, 2009. Your report is to be a typed Word document. Your report should be professionally organized, be both grammatically and technically correct and it should cover the topics as completely as necessary. Your report must include references, graphs and other pertinent documentation. All resource materials must be properly referenced with full credits. The reports minimum length excluding appendices and other supporting materials is ten, double spaced pages. Your report must be submitted one week prior to the day of class. The report will not be returned, so it is suggested that you make a copy for yourself and all group members. As a reminder the report is 30% of your grade. As an alternate report, you may wish to select a product and follow it through the complete manufacturing process cycle. Your report must also include the topics listed above. If you should desire to do so you must clear it with me by the 4th week of the course. The project presentation will consist of a thirty (30) minute, MS PowerPoint like presentation of your project. Each group member must present a portion of the presentation and should be not less than five (5) minutes of the total presentation time.
