Theintegralreactorcanhavesignificanttemperature variationsfrompointtopoint, especiallywithgas solid variationsfrompointtopoint especiallywithgassolid systems, evenwithcoolingatthewalls.Thiscouldwellmake kineticmeasurementsfromsuchareactorcompletely p y worthlesswhensearchingforrateexpressions.Thebasket reactorisbestinthisrespect. Theintegralreactorisusefulformodelingtheoperationsof largerpackedbedunitswithalltheirheatandmasstransfer effects, particularlyforsystemswherethefeedandproduct consistofavarietyofmaterials.

Thesmallconversionsneededindifferentialreactors requiremoreaccuratemeasurementsofcompositionthan theotherreactortypes.
