ENERGY STAR labels identify the most efficient appliances sold in Canada.
The quality of lighting is always a concern when going to energy efcient lights, but not with the lamps we received. WOW! The light was actually brighter, softer and not as reective as the old lamps we had before. And they didnt just come in and screw in new bulbs - they took the time to correctly position and maximize the lighting in our restaurant. I am extremely pleased with all aspects of the experience. This isnt just pinching pennies - this is going to save us a substantial amount of money.

We cannot control the cost of energy but we can control how much we use. Using energy more efciently can help Nova Scotia: lessen exposure to volatile energy prices improve the competitiveness of our economy achieve our economic and environmental objectives better our communities Every unit of energy not used is money saved, which positively affects Nova Scotia in a number of ways. Long-term, energy efciency postpones the need for a future power plant which could add a billion dollars to Nova Scotians power bills. In 2012, Efciency Nova Scotias investment in energy efciency upgrades will add $40 million to the economy in the form of hired labour and purchased supplies. In 2011, upgrades helped 150 industrial customers and over 6,000 small businesses become more protable and saved 110,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions - the equivalent of taking 20,000 vehicles off the road. Efciency Nova Scotia is helping the province use energy better and meet our commitment to the Environmental Goals and Sustainable Prosperity Act (EGSPA) by 2020. Energy efciency is the cheapest, greenest form of energy out there. Just as weve done with recycling and solid waste, Nova Scotians are on our way to being recognized as world leaders in energy efciency.
Efciency Nova Scotia is a new, independent organization that helps Nova Scotians conserve energy and use energy better. We are run by a Board of Directors, not government or an electric utility. Efciency Nova Scotia is funded by a small fee paid by all electricity customers in the province, but every dollar invested returns more than $2 in energy savings to Nova Scotians.
