What to Expect During Your Upgrade | Efciency Nova Scotia will arrange for professional installers to upgrade inefcient products throughout your restaurant - all free of charge. These upgrades could include: ENERGY STAR LEDs ENERGY STAR LED Exit Lights Faucet Aerators Electric Hot Water Tank & Pipe Insulation Your Next Steps for Energy Savings | Following your initial upgrade, a member of Efciency Nova Scotias technical staff will complete a preliminary assessment of your facility. This includes the number and age of appliances, lighting xtures, HVAC systems, refrigeration equipment, etc. Efciency Nova Scotia will summarize this data and provide you with a customized portfolio of additional energy saving opportunities within each of your facilities. A dedicated member of our technical staff will meet with you to discuss the report, which will outline what has been done to date, additional energy saving opportunities, incentive and nancing options and payback periods. The staff member will become your point of contact for all additional energy-saving projects you choose to undertake. They will coordinate all paperwork and assist in scheduling work in order to minimize the administrative burden and disruption to you, your staff and customers. In 2012, Efciency Nova Scotias investment in energy efciency upgrades will add $40 million to the economy in the form of hired labour and purchased supplies. In 2011, upgrades helped 150 industrial customers and over 6,000 small businesses become more protable and saved 110,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions - the equivalent of taking 20,000 vehicles off the road. Efciency Nova Scotia is helping the province use energy better and meet our commitment to the Environmental Goals and Sustainable Prosperity Act (EGSPA) by 2020. Energy efciency is the cheapest, greenest form of energy out there. Just as weve done with recycling and solid waste, Nova Scotians are on our way to being recognized as world leaders in energy efciency.

HOW CAN EFFICIENCY NOVA SCOTIA HELP?

Efciency Nova Scotia offers technical assistance, nancial incentives and nancing to make energy efciency improvements easy and affordable for your business. We offer a range of solutions from no cost upgrades to $500,000 incentives for large projects. Our application process is fast, exible and easy: applications are processed within 5 business days and incentives are paid within 30 days of project completion.

Efciency Nova Scotia is a new, independent organization that helps Nova Scotians conserve energy and use energy better. We are run by a Board of Directors, not government or an electric utility. Efciency Nova Scotia is funded by a small fee paid by all electricity customers in the province, but every dollar invested returns more than $2 in energy savings to Nova Scotians.
