Grammar rules: Word order and Past Tense Subject pronoun is mandatory: it refers to.../ they were... Adjectives come before the word they describe. They havent got plural: Colonization spread
Greek influence beyond its frontiers.

UNIT 8: PREHISTORY Concepts: Prehistory and History The stages of History The stages of Prehistory Life in the Palaeolithic, Neolithic and Metal Ages Vocabulary: Prehistory, History, art cave, megaliths, nomadic, sedentary, predator economy, producer economy. UNIT 9: EARLY CIVILIZATIONS Concepts: River civilizations and their characteristics The River Nile and its influence The social structure of Ancient Egypt Religious belief: polytheism and life after death Egyptian art: temples, tombs, sculpture, painting Vocabulary: Pharaoh, polytheism, hieroglyphic writing, pyramid, river civilization. Students must be able to: Determine space / time context of the Ancient Egypt Use vocabulary related to Ancient Egypt Report on length of time: Egyptian civilization lasted about three thousand years. Give historical explanations: Writing made it possible to organize the state. Describe past ways of life in early river civilizations Know about Egyptian art and its characteristics using basic artistic vocabulary, such as arch, column, pyramid... Describe a work of art: The biggest tombs were the spectacular pyramids which were built for the pharaohs. Analyse the relation between art and society: the connection between strong rulers and monumental architecture.
