InterACT* service provides secure real-time access to oilfield data at all stages of the exploration and production cycle. This on-line collaborative workspace grants access to project information via the Internet to authorized personnel, promoting teamwork in the decision-making process. Data of any type or format can be exchanged, including drilling reports and programs, mud logs and reports, wireline and logging-while-drilling logs, well stimulation data, processed log data, and electronic photographs. InterACT data delivery service is a user-friendly intuitive system that requires no specialized software to be installed. From a connection to either the Internet or a local Intranet, data is downloaded to a PC desktop and reviewed using interactive, customizable graphics viewers. Real-time data can be automatically and continuously delivered to OpenSpirit- enabled applications when the system is installed in your Intranet. Data can be browsed, and real-time data can be viewed on Pocket PCs. Data can also be produced for import to other local applications for further manipulation.

simplified through building security groups and filters, and applying them to individual user accounts. InterACT delivery uses best-in-class security standards for both hardware and software. All data transfers use 128bit secure sockets layering (SSL) encryption. The system meets industry security standards, minimizing the risk of data disclosure. For clients preferring an Intranetonly solution, Schlumberger provides installation and maintenance of the system in the clients office. In this case, there is no access available from the Internet.

Partner access
Partner access to data is easily controlled by the same process used for internal team members. Because data resides centrally in the system database, there is no need for continual updates and distribution. Partners can access specified data whenever the operator wishes to disclose it.

Reliable transfer
The most difficult part of any data exchange is sending data from the remote site. Because local telecommunication systems in some areas can be unreliable, Schlumberger uses proprietary transfer protocols to ensure robust data transfer. Encrypted data is compressed for efficiency, and automatic-link recovery is available if telecommunications breaks occur. This superior transfer process means InterACT technology can even be used in areas with unsophisticated communication links.
Real-time data is viewable using the Internet or an Intranet.

InterACT security
The InterACT system is engineered for data security. Security levels are easy to set up and offer full flexibility. A client-appointed security officer approves all access, with the ability to vary levels of data access to a diverse user base. Schlumberger performs administration, which is

Powerful catalog
Oilfield projects produce volumes of data. To improve data organization, Schlumberger has developed a powerful cataloging system. Data is stored under well folders, then further divided into well sections, and activity catalogs. This process ensures data retrieval from the server is streamlined and consistent. One-touch immediate access to real-time data adds valuable speed to decision-making.

Drilling and formation measurements are displayed in real time.

Real-time drilling data

InterACT service provides real-time drilling and measurement information when and where needed. WITS data is loaded via secure link to a database on the server. Users access the data via numeric displays, configurable log graphic displays, and toolface and well trajectory presentations. Numeric displays ensure access to real-time data even if users are accessing data over slow connections. Predefined log displays or the simple pull-down menu configurations allow users to quickly display data in the required format, then zoom in, change scales and curve attributes, or even switch between logarithmic and linear scales. Customized displays can be saved and made available to other users with standard security options. Flexible update options can refresh data at predetermined intervals as frequently as every second. User-configurable thresholds can be set for specific operating conditions or events. When a prespecified condition occurs, a flag is generated and stored in an individuals profile. Flags are retrieved with each sign-on. InterACT system supports more than ports more than simply real-time drilling decisions. Any WITS data can be loaded to the database and viewed remotely; experts do not have to be on-site at all times. Output options for data in real-time and in archived format include OpenSpirit, customizable ASCII, or tabdelimited spreadsheet formats, and true scale prints on a PC printer.

Wireline logging data

The wellsite engineer simply uploads graphical or digital data to the InterACT space for remote users to view or analize in real-time. Formats supported include DLIS, LAS and ASCII for digital data, and PDS, TIFF, or any other file type for graphical data. The embedded log graphics viewer provides options to view and manipulate wireline data. For example, wireline and drilling data can be viewed concurrently on the same log presentation. During operations such as reservoir sampling, experts at different locations can collaborate on the data being viewed or interpreted in realtime, making immediate decisions on critical issues.

data published to the server available for display in real-time on an embeded graphical and numeric display. The Schlumberger FracCADE* software package analyzes and interprets stimulation data downloaded to a PC.
