ATTENTION! 1. 2. 3. You need Administrator Account to install SolidWorks 2012 SPs on your computer!

You need to load initial SolidWorks 2012 SP0.0 image (ISO) into virtual CD-drive before installing SPs! You can download and install only that updates that you need

Mandatory updates are: 1. SW core update (SW core update includes SW Simulation and SW Motion updates too) and 2. SW localization update (only for localized not English SW!)

All other updates (eDrawings, SW Explorer, SW Flow Simulation, SW Help, SW PDM Works.. ets) are optional

In SW core updates (self-extracting WinZip files) there are the designation sw2012-a.a-b.b-i.exe (sw2012- a.a-b.b -x.exe) -x means update for SW Win64 -I means update for SW Win32 a.a means what preinstalled SW version will be updated b.b means for what SW version will be updated

The same designation are applyed for other updates. If update have no got a.a-b.b in designation it means that its full setup and can be installed on any previous update

Manual installation of SP (via MSP files) First you need to install SW core and localization update To install SW core update extract from sw2012-a.a-b.b-i(x).exe MSP file (sw2012-a.a-b.b-i(x).msp) and run it. For Win Vista/Win7 be sure to run files as Administrator (RMC > run as Administrator) To install SW localization update extract from proper language file (for example for Russian localization you need swrus2012-a.a-b.b-i(x).exe) MSP file and run it The other modules updates can be installed in the same manner For full updates (without a.a-b.b in names) you need to unzip them and run setup.exe

ATTENTION! On some computers with installed MS Visual 2010 C++ installation of SW updates can failed! In the end of installation it can be roll back with or without warning about MS Installer error In that case you need to install updates using SW2012 SPs Installation Manager (SW IM)
