Introduction
This document describes basic customizing settings for the Energy Data Management (IS-U-EDM) component. For more information, see the documentation for the individual sections of the implementation guide or the SAP Library documentation, which you can find under Help SAP Library. For more information on IS-U-EDM Customizing settings, see the other cookbooks available for IS-U-EDM Release 4.62.

Basic Customizing Settings

Basic customizing settings for IS-U-EDM can be found in Customizing for SAP Utilities under Energy Data Management Basic Settings.

Profile Categories
SAP provides the following 5 predefined profile categories: Elementary profile Synthetic profile Integral profile Day profile Formula profile Elementary Profiles Profile containing values entered manually or imported. Synthetic Profile Profile containing values generated on the basis of predefined periods (day and season groups) and corresponding day and annual profiles. Synthetic profiles are used when no interval readings are available. They are used for classifying the consumption patterns of groups of customers. Customers with similar consumption patterns are grouped and assigned to the same synthetic profile. You use a usage factor to determine customer-specific consumption from a synthetic profile. You also use dynamic modification factors to change a customers synthetic profile values to avoid significant fluctuations in consumption as a result of seasonal changes. This ensures that a customers typical profile is retained. You can import dynamic modification factors from other systems or calculate them yourself. Integral Profile Used by SAP only. Day Profile Profile containing values measured at identical intervals and that describes one day. Day profiles are allocated to synthetic profiles and reproduce the consumption of one day, such as a weekend day in summer or a weekday in winter. Formula Profile Profile containing values calculated using a predefined formula. You can use a formula profile to calculate the energy-feeding curve of the grid, for example. You define the profile types you use in Customizing and allocate them to profile categories predefined by SAP.

Profile types can be found in Customizing for SAP Utilities under Energy Data Management Basic Settings Profile Type Define Profile Types.

The parameters are as follows: P.. (Profile type) Profile type ID Profile type (description of profile type) 30-character text for profile type description P..(Profile category) Profile category ID to which profile type is allocated. History (history of profile) Settings for the profile history (historic profile, forecast profile, or load schedule) do not play a functional role. The table is read as follows: Profile 1 (historic profile) is allocated to profile category 1 (elementary profile). Profile type 1 classifies profiles as elementary, historic profiles. Profile type 2 (forecast profile) classifies profiles as elementary forecast profiles. Etc. You choose a profile type in a later step when you create a profile header. You can select from the profile types defined in Customizing.
Delete Entries To delete profile types, select the relevant line and choose (Delete). Proceed in this way for all other Customizing settings predefined by SAP. Define Profile Types
Note
You can only create new objects in the customer namespace. This applies to all new objects that you create.
To define additional profile types, proceed as follows: 1. Go to Customizing for SAP Utilities and choose Energy Data Management Basic Settings Profile Type Define Profile Types. The following screen appears:

Enter the profile type ID in the Prof. type field. Enter a description for the profile type in the Prof. type field. Enter one of the predefined profile categories in the Prof. cat. field. Select one of the predefined entries for the History field. Settings for the profile history (historic profile, forecast profile, or load schedule) do not play a functional role here. Save your data.

Interval Lengths
Interval lengths of 15, 30 and 60 minutes have been predefined by SAP. To define interval lengths, go to Customizing for SAP Utilities and choose Tools System Modifications User-Defined Enhancements for Energy Data Management Interval Lengths Define Interval Lengths.

You choose an interval length in a later step when you create a profile header. You can select from the interval lengths defined in Customizing.
Note The next release will contain 5- and 10-minute interval lengths in addition to the current lengths of 15, 30 and 60 minutes.

Define Interval Lengths
Caution
You should consult with SAP before performing this IMG activity. Defining new interval lengths can have negative effects on system performance.
If you still wish to define additional interval lengths, proceed as follows: 1. 2. Define a function module for selecting profile values. You can use function module ISU_PROFILE_GET_EPROFVAL15 as a template. Define a function module for updating profile values. You can use function module ISU_PROFILE_PUT_EPROFVAL15 as a template. Define a function module for preparing profile values for updates. You can use function module ISU_PROFILE_VAL_UPD_PREP_0015 as a template.

Enter the interval length ID in the Interval length field. Enter a description for the interval length in the Int. lgth desc. field. Enter a number in the Interval length field. Choose a predefined interval length category in the Int. lgth cat. field. If you want to specify that any two profile values are separated by equal intervals, select the Equal intervals field. In the fields FM for select., update module, and Upd. prep. mod., select the function modules you defined in steps 1 to 3 12. Save your data. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. You choose an interval length in a later step when you create a profile header. You can select from the interval lengths defined in Customizing.

Permissibility of Interval Lengths per Profile Type

You have to define permissible interval lengths for each profile type. Profile types predefined by SAP also have predefined interval lengths. Go to Customizing for SAP Utilities and choose Energy Data Management Basic Settings Profile Type Define Permissibility of Interval Length per Profile Type. The following screen appears:

The table is read as follows: Interval lengths of 15 and 30 minutes are permissible for profile type 1 (historical profile). Profiles of type 1 can record values in increments of 15 and 30 minutes. Interval lengths of 15 and 30 minutes are permissible for profile type 2 (forecast profile). Profiles of type 2 can record values in increments of 15 and 30 minutes. Etc.
Define Permissibility of Interval Lengths per Profile Type You must also define the permissibility of interval lengths for any additional profile types you have defined. Proceed as follows: 1. Go to Customizing for SAP Utilities and choose Energy Data Management Basic Settings Profile Type Define Permissibility of Interval Length per Profile Type.

Season Groups
Season groups divide the year into several season types. For example, you can define the season group SOWI to divide the year into the season types summer and winter. You define season types and then group them into season groups. You must establish settings for season groups before you can define synthetic profiles. These settings are required in the RTP interface, where they define the structure of RTP components.

SAP has already defined several season types. Season types can be found in Customizing for SAP Utilities under Energy Data Management Basic Settings Season Group Define Season Types.

Start...
(Start of season period) Season type Summer describes the period from 04/01 to 09/30. End (end of season period) Season type Summer describes the period from 04/01 to 09/30 (meaning that the end of the summer season period is 09/30.
Note You cannot define a season period that reaches into the next year. If you want to do this, you have to create two season periods. In this case, you would create one period (with consecutive number 1) up to 12/31, and another (with consecutive number 2) starting on 01/01. (See the definition of season type Winter). The season periods allocated to the season types in a season block must cover one year and may not overlap.
The table is read as follows: The season period from 04/01 to 09/30 is allocated to season type 0001 (summer).

Day Groups
A day group contains different day types. For example, you can define a group of days called Standard Week that contains the day types Weekday and Weekend Day. You define day and then group them into day groups. You must establish these settings before you can define synthetic profiles. These settings are also required in the RTP interface where they define the structure of RTP components.

Description of day type F... (factory calendar) ID of the factor calendar that you defined under General Settings Maintain calendar. WD (workday) If you select this field, the workdays defined in the factory calendar are allocated to this day type. PH (public holiday) If you select this field, the public holidays defined in the factory calendar are allocated to this day type.
The table is read as follows: Day type 0001 (weekday) corresponds to the workdays of factory calendar 01. Day type 0002 (weekend day including public holiday) corresponds to the public holidays of factory calendar 01. Day type 0003 (all weekdays) corresponds to both the workdays and the public holidays of factory calendar 01.
Caution
If you define several day types and assign them to different factory calendars, the factor calendars must all be assigned to the same public holiday calendar.

Choose New entries. Enter the day type ID in the Day type field. Enter a description for the interval length in the Descript. field. In the F... field (factor calendar ID), enter the ID of the factor calendar to which the day type is to be assigned. Select the WD (workday) field if you want the day type to correspond to the workdays of the factor calendar. Select the PH (public holiday) field if you want the day type to correspond to the public holidays of the factor calendar. Select both fields if you want the day type to correspond to both the workdays and the public holidays of the factor calendar. Save your data.
Note
When you group day types into day groups you must ensure that each day is allocated to one day type.
In the next step, different day types are grouped into day groups.

Time-Of-Use (TOU) Groups

A time-of-use (TOU) group contains different TOU types. For example, you can define a TOU group for on-/off-peak that contains the TOU types on-peak and offpeak. You define TOU types and then group them into TOU groups. These settings are also required in the RTP interface where they define the structure of RTP components.

The parameters are as follows: C... (Consecutive number of TOU period) Start (start of TOU period) TOU type 0001 (on-peak period) describes the period between 08:00:00 and 17:59:59, meaning that the on-peak period begins at 08:00:00 hours. End (end of TOU period) TOU type 0001 (on-peak period) describes the period between 08:00:00 and 17:59:59 hours, meaning that the on-peak period ends at 17:59:59 hours.
Note
You cannot define a TOU period over one day. If you want to do this, you have to create two TOU periods. In this case, you would create one period (with consecutive number 1) up to 12/31, and another (with consecutive number 2) starting on 01/01. The TOU periods allocated to the TOU types in a TOU group must cover one day (from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 hours) and may not overlap.
The table is read as follows: The TOU period from 08:00:00 to 17:59:59 hours is allocated to TOU type 0001 (on-peak period).

Number Ranges for Source Systems

Profiles imported from external systems must have number ranges for the source system. Source systems include automated meter reading systems from which load shapes are imported, for example.

Enter your data in the appropriate fields. Choose Insert. Insert To insert additional intervals, repeat steps 3 to 5. Save your data.
Change Number Range Status If you want to change the number range status, proceed as follows: 1. 2. 3. Choose Change intervals. Enter a number in the Current number field that is larger than the current number. Save your data.

Change documents for Profile Status

You can use change documents to track the status of profiles. For example you can determine when and by whom a certain profile was changed last. Activate Change Documents for Profile Status To activate change documents for profile statuses, proceed as follows: 1. Go to Customizing for SAP Utilities and choose Energy Data Management Basic Settings Activate Change Documents for Profile Status.
