Quota sampling is a non-probability sampling technique that is based on the judgement of the researcher. In quota sampling, the population is first segmented into mutually exclusive subgroups, similar to stratified sampling. Then judgement is used to select the subjects or units from each segment based on a specified proportion.
Hence Quota sampling is selecting subjects, with certain characteristics. e.g. age, place of residence, gender, profession, marital status etc.
