1. What is the role-play?

Many procedures and techniques are applied at the classroom but, they are not all applied according the defined purposes in the didactic sequences done by the teachers; in other words, the strategies or techniques should be planned according to the competencies to develop in the students, according with the objectives to achieve. It is very important when we are doing our didactic sequences to have in clear to choose the adequate activities that include the techniques or procedures of teaching taking in count some points as: Students characteristics and capacities. Students needs. Students learning style. Teaching environment. The purpose to achieve in the students. The competences to develop according to the study plan. The objectives of the program of study. The times. The resources, etc. It is a key point to know all these aspects because only this way as a teacher we can be educational mediators for our students in such a way that we are useful in the learning of them.

And for those reasons, it is also very important to know the actual Educational Reform of the Basic Education, where the central focus is the learning. In this Educational Reform, it is promoted The integral education where it is necessary complementing the development of the capacities to attend competencies in the students of the middle school. During my teaching practices, the auto-reflection is a personal capacity that I have kept on developing and where I could verify, detect and, correct mistakes to guarantee my teacher performance and, according with Paulo Freire (1987), he says: The man become a subject for own reflection on his situation. In the meantime more reflect on his concrete situation, more emerge completely conscious, compromised, and clever to intervene in relation to the reality to change it. From this perspective we owe to learn how to think, this means confronting ideas, checking our educational practice, positioning like educational professionals and observing ourselves in our teaching

experiences not to losing sight of the mission that we have like educators. As teachers we should reflect about the educational mediation at the moment of teaching; at the moment to stay with the students; at the moment to planning, at the moment to want to be a teacher, and go on reflecting during our experiences.

During the teaching practices, I was able to see the need to implement meaningful activities that allow develop the students skills. The teacher should be like a guider during the students learning. He is a mediator of education; and he is responsible of teaching process. Thinking about all what is written previously, in this recepcional document I proposed the role play as a strategy with which I could promote the practice and develop the speaking skill in the students; including aspects of the real life to prepare students that can front the actual problems and solve them successfully. The role play is a strategy that we also know like dramatization or simulation; it consists in that two or more people represent a situation or concrete case of the real life, acting according of the paper that they have been assigned and in such a way that they will be more vivid and authentic. One of the great ways of changing the way you see the world is to see it from someone else's point of view and, the role play includes this purpose. This strategy allows us to change our perspectives when through the actuation the role play of different characters we see how they would approach the problem. Different people use different bits of information and knowledge to approach the same problem and it's extremely helpful to view a task from different angles.

Taking the concept of a strategy according with Carles Monereo Font (2008) that is the reflexive use of the procedures to realize to accomplish a determined task, then the role-play is a strategy because it does not only include certain tasks to promote the speaking; it is one of many ways to help students to be able to become unwrapped during the English classes and it is an opportunity for the teacher to obtain results to identify the advances of them and go progressively developing the abilities of the students through its stages to develop it.

Understanding the concept of strategy, (Gran encyclopedia Catalana, 1978) a strategy is the art of directing big military motions; in this sense the activity of strategy consists in projecting, ordering and, directing the military operations in such a way to achieve the victory. Implementing this word strategy in the educational ambit, it is always directed to an objective relating with the learning and, it is consent and intentional.

The role play is considered a strategy because has a series of steps where there are different objectives and therefore different results. For this the role play has techniques and procedures to apply it.
