CARE FOR THE FUTURE

GEORGIAN BUSINESS WEEK - MARCH 20, 2012

How does the company Natakhtari care for the orphaned children?

he company Natakhtari and as sociation Our Home Georgia held the joint press conference. The issue of discussion at the conference concerned the humanitarian projects of the lemonade Natakhtari. Its first stage, which entailed gathering the money was complete. The creation of the base for orphaned kids from age 16 until 18 was also complete. As a result of the auction, which continued for 3 months throughout the whole country, 142 802 GEL was collected. Even though the organizers expected to gather 100 000 GEL, the actual number exceeded their expectations by 40 percent, which is a real success. The above amount will be distributed in accordance with the projects and will be spent through the year. The project started in November 2011. As a result of the agreement the project was implemented transparently. This is the first humanitarian project of the fund Natakhtari and similar auctions will definitely be held annually in the country. The project is implemented with the support of the association Our Home Georgia and with the help of our Patriarchs prayers. Tornike Nikolaishvili (Marketing manager of the company Natakhtari): The first stage, which entailed collecting the money for three months was complete. I will remind you that the amount of money paid for each bottle (1-3 and 5 tetris) went to the fund. The amount of money collected exceeded the expectations and in total equaled to 142 802 GEL, which was a significant success. That means that the society consolidated on this particular issue and expressed their deep interest toward orphaned children. We welcome such developments since the purpose of creating the fund Natakhtari is to help orphaned chil-

dren to integrate into the society. Our first goal was to describe every childs situation in foster homes. During the research both the children and their caregivers filled in the questionnaire. In order to achieve concrete results and not disburse the resources we chose a concrete group and started to work cooperatively. The group contained fifty-eight 16-17 and 18 year-old adults. We had also 10 000 GEL for 16-18 year-old children. The reason why we chose 16-18 year-old childrens segment was because they were the closest to the adulthood. Their problems associated with their integration into the society starts exactly at the age of 18, when they start living independently. At the first stage of the process, the psychologists will work with the children. The psychologists will provide the conclusions on each childs level of readiness for the project. We have no room for mistakes here. For instance, we cannot allow the teen-agers to start paid internships and for them not be ready for the job. Such an approach may leave serious scars in the lives of the children. That is why the employment segment will start after we receive conclusions from the psychologist. We are very much pleased with the several childrens desire to receive higher education, take entrance exams and to study in different colleges. Some of them even shared concrete career goals with us as to which profession they wish to acquire, etc. Lela Merabishvili (the representative of Our Home association): The questionnaire was very thorough and informative. Such mechanism assisted us to reveal the capabilities of the youth and how they would bring their skills into action. We needed the above information so that we could deepen their knowledge in the right direction in accordance to their skills.
