HousekeepingWORK PREPARATION Pre-job meeting Method Of StatementPage 2 Pre-job meeting shall be held priorto the commencemen t of any workactivities at site in orderto ensureall parties involved are well i nformed of the workprocess and the associated safety hazards.Toolbox talk and JS A shall be held with the workers priorto commencing work.Manpowerxxx shall berep resented by:-Engineering Manager He isresponsible of all activitiesrelated to th e project. First aid box JOB EXECUTION Storage management Method Of StatementPage 3 xxx shall erect site storage facilities to store all workmaterials, tools and equipments.The store shall act asxxx site office.Horizo ntal Directional Drilling (HDD) workTo carry out Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) workforunderground MDPEpipe installation across themainroad.1. Priorto ca rrying out HDD works, xxx shall discuss and verify with the main contractorandco nsultant the area/path to be drilled. Drilling path designed with consideration to the position of existing utilities, accessibility of drillingrig and geograph ical site, and shall be at least 3 feet belowtheroad. Details of utilities shall be marked on plan, should necessary final adjustment will bemade at site.2. Rad io detection shall be used to finalize the path.Trial hole shall be excavated to verify the base of the underground utilities. Warning signs and colored bunting shall be erected at locations of overhead powercables. Workarea shall be barric aded with warning signs erected.3. Horizontal distance and cross sectional profi le of the proposed bore shall be determined withmeasuring tape and dumpy level. Drilling path shall be marked on the ground.4. High viscosity drilling fluid sha ll be used to prevent the collapse of borehole during drilling. Drillingfluid vi scosity shall be monitored and maintained at Funnel Viscosity 40 secs/quart.5. A (1.5 m x 1.0 m) x 1.0 m depth pit shall be dug at the entry and exit point to c aterforcuttings andfluids.6. Commence drilling operations by attaching a 3 diamet erfluid jet drill head with sensorto the drillrod. Drilling trajectory shall be monitored at every 3m by Digitrak Electronic tracking system.7. Locatortechnicia

n shall inform drilling operatorshould drill head strays off course. Adjustments hall be made by the drilling operator.8. At exit pit, drill head shall beremoved andreplaced with a fluid jetreamer.9. Reamershall beretracted through the drill ed hole at doing so borehole will be enlarged andmore cuttings will beremoved. D ifferent diameter reamers shall be used to enlarge borehole insteps to a max of approx. 30 percent than pipe size.10. MDPEpipe will be laid onrollers afterbeing string up.11. Afterfinalreaming, pipe will be attached to the lastreamerand swi vel and will be pulled intoborehole.12. Upon installation pipe ends shall be cap ped to prevent foreign particles ingress. Site shall becleaned andreinstated and drillingrig demobilized.Soil excavation workTo conduct soil excavation workto l ay underground MDPEpipe and underground carbon steel pipe (c/wanti-corrosion tap e).1. Priorto carrying out excavation works, LWG shall discuss and verify with t he main contractorandconsultant the area/path to excavate.2. Permit shall be app lied and made available at site.Toolbox talkshall be held priorto starting work. 3. JCB excavatorshall be mobilized, unauthorized personnelkept out of the excava tion area.4. Trench shall be excavated as perapproved drawing. It shall be prepa red as such that the pipe layson a firm, continuous bearing on the bottom.5. Exc avatordemobilized and site cleaned in preparation forpipe laying. Method Of StatementPage 4 MDPE pipesandf ittings installation1. Welders shall m ake sure that all pipes and fittings are dry, f ree f rom burrs, suspended matte randoil.2. Priorto jointing the pipes with electro-fusion machine, the MDPEpipe shall be aligned properly byclamp.3. Formore detailed information on electro-fus ion joint of MDPEpipes and fittings,refertoattachment B.Carbon steel pipesandf i ttings installationPipe CuttingPipes shall be cut to desired length based on sho p drawing:-1. Pipe length shall be measured by measuring tape and marked at the desired length based onendorsed shop drawing.2. Speed cutter(onPortable Cut-Off Saw) shall be set on clean, dry, stable surface, without thepresence of flammabl e elements and connected to the powersupply.3. Wearproperapparel. Do not wearloo se clothings, gloves, necklaces,rings, bracelets orother jewelleries which may get caught in moving parts. Nonslip footwearisrecommended. Wear protective hairc overing to contain long hair.4. Safety glasses shall be used. Face ordust masksh all also be used.5. Pipe shall be laid on the speed cutter, pipe marked position adjusted to the speed cuttercuttingwheel.6. Pipe position shall be fixed at 90d eg with the base of speed cutterand hold down by clamps.7. Before using the tool on pipe, let itrun fora while. Watch forvibration orwobbling that couldindicate poorinstallation ora poorly balanced wheel.8. Switch on, wait until wheel attai ns full speed and lowergently cut the pipe on marked position.9. Watch out forfl ying sparks when operating.They can cause injury orignite combustible materials. 10. Do not overreach. Keep properfooting and balance at all times.11. Do not tou ch the workplace immediately afteroperation; it is extremely hot.12. Neverleave toolrunning unattended.Turn poweroff. Do not leave tool until it has come to aco mplete stop.13. Poweroff and disconnect powersupply. Anti-corrosion Tape Wrappin gAll underground, floor/wall embedded carbon steel pipes should be wrapping with anti-corrosion tape tokeep the pipes corrosion f ree.1. The pipe surface shall be f ree of mud, oil, grease orany others foreign material that will preventthe joint coating system f rom bonding to the steel pipe surface.2. Visible oil and grease shall beremoved with suitable solvent.3. The steel surface shall be dry p riorto the application of the joint wrap tapes.4. KEROSENEshall NOTbe used forcl eaning the pipe joints.5. Wrapping shall be applied underhand tension orusing a hand-wrapping machine capable of maintaining even, constant tension across the w idth of the tape.6. The wrapping shall be 55% overlap.Screw Thread MakingTo fabr icate male screw end on pipe, pipe shall be threaded by threading machine:-1. Th e threading machine shall be set on clean, dry, stable surface, without the pres ence of flammable elements and connected to powersupply. Method Of StatementPage 5 2. Wearproperapparel. Insert the pipe into theThreading Machine so that the cutting markis located about 12in ches tothe f ront of the speed chuckjaws.6. Insert workpieces less than 2 feet l ong f rom the f ront of the machine. Insert longerpipes througheitherend so that the longersection extends out beyond therearof theThreading Machine.7. To avoid equipment tip-over, position the pipe supports underworkpiece.8. Tighten therea rcentering devise around the pipe by using a counterclockwiserotation of thehand wheel at therearof theThreading Machine.This prevents movement of the pipe that canresult in poorthread quality.9. Secure the pipe by usingrepeated and forceful counterclockwise spins of the speed chuck handwheel at the f ront of theThreadi ng Machine.This action hammers the jaws tightly aroundthe pipe.SMAW WeldingShielde d Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) orstickwelding is a process which melts and joins met als by heatingthem with an arc between a coated metal electrode and the carbon s teel pipe:-1. Wearwelding mask/welding goggle and welding glove.2. Arrange cable s to one side and away f rom the operator.3. Do not coil ordrape cables around b ody.4. Keep welding powersource and cables as farway f rom operatoras practical. 5. Connect workclamp to pipe as close to the weld as possible.6. Bevel the pipe end into 30 Degree by using grinding tools. And alsoremove oxidation and mill sc ale.7. Align the pipe/fitting in jointing position with 1.5mm gap between 2 elem ents.8. Set-up the welding machine with properamp and select an electrode.9. Ele ctrode angle should be 75r- 80raccording to welding position.10. The electrode o utercoating, i.e. flux, assists in creating the arc and provides the shielding g as andslag covering to protect the weld f rom contamination.11. The electrode co re provides most of the weld fillermetal.12. Weld the joint by moving electrode along the pipe end bevel at the correct speed, the metaldeposits in a uniform la yerwill seal the joint (bead).Leakage testingPneumatic leakage testing shall be conducted by welderpriorsoil backfilling forMDPEpipe and cementpatching forembed ded carbon steel pipe.1. Testing pressure is determined by 1.5x of operating pre ssure orminimum 5 psig.2. Testing shall be witnessed by main contractor/ consult ant.3. Testingrecord must be documented and endorsed by main contractor/ consult ant.
