Geo Fennel FL200A-N Rotating Laser Instructions

4x C Alkaline batteries FL200A-N can be used with alkaline batteries alternatively. Open battery compartment cover (6). Remove the NiMH battery packs. Insert 4x C Alkaline batteries and ensure correct polarity is observed. Whilst using alkaline batteries the recharging function is disabled. Horizontal use Place FL200A-N on a flat, smooth surface or mount it on tripod head. Release compensator clamp by turning clamp knob (1) in anti-clockwise direction until stop. Press ON/OFF switch (2). - Horizontal line is set level within range of 3.5. - Laser head starts rotating - The POWER and SCAN lamps will show permanent red light. Audible signal indicates that instrument was set up outside of compensator range of 3.5. Set up instrument on more even surface.

Receiver FR44 with Clamp

1- Clamp knob for compensator 2- ON/OFF switch 3- Scanning function 4- Rotating speed 5- Receiving window for remote control 6- Battery compartment 7- Charging socket 8- Vial for use in vertical mode 9- Charging indication lamp 10- Laser emitting windows

Kit consists of: FL200A-N, dual display receiver and clamp, remote control, rechargeable batteries, charger, floor/wall-mount, (also for use in vertical direction on a tripod), container.

Use keys (4) in order to select the desired rotating speed. Use key (3) to select two scanning modes or red dot mode. Use key (3) again in order to return to rotating mode. The lamp SCAN will show red flashing light when working in scanning modes or red dot mode. In rotating mode this lamp will show permanent red light. In scanning modes and red dot mode keys (4) are used to set target to any desired point. Vertical use Please note that it is of utmost importance to set compensator clamp (1) to LOCK before preparing instrument for vertical use. Fit floor/wall-mount (11) to the instrument as per picture - to remove press lever (12). Set vial (8) by setting screw (13). Please take care to set bubble very precisely as compensator will not work in vertical mode. Remaining functions are same as described for horizontal use. Remote control The keys of the remote control are identical with the keys of the instrument. Exception: with the POWER key of the remote control the FL200A-N can only be switched off but not started again.

Take special care Please fully charge batteries before first use. Recharge batteries at certain intervals if instrument is not used for long periods of time. Re-check instrument calibration at certain intervals and before important measurements. Transport only in original protective container. Clean instrument and receiver only with soft cloth. Do not stare into beam. Further safety instructions enclosed. VERY IMPORTANT! During transport and in vertical use the compensator clamp (1) must be set to LOCK. Disregard may lead to damage of the unit!

NiMH battery pack If lamp beside ON/OFF switch (2) is flashing batteries have to be charged. Connect charger to socket (7) and power supply system. Operating lamp (9) is indicating: RED = batteries being charged. Recommended charging time: 10hrs. Green light shows that you can start working with FL200A-N, but not that batteries are fully charged. The charger can be used as power supply.

Installation of batteries: - Open the battery compartment cover (7) by use of a coin - Put in two 1.5v AA batteries according to installation symbol (14) on backside of FR44 (take care of correct polarity!) - Close cover - In order to save battery power the receiver will automatically turn off if it has not received laser scanning signal for 5mins. Clamp for levelling staff: - If required mount FR44 to clamp as per picture above. Symbols at display: 1- Power indicator 2- Low battery indicator 3- Fine/coarse detection indicator 4- Sound indicator 5- Detected position indicator

Checking accuracy Set up FL200A-N in rotating mode and take a reading on wall at distance of 10m. Mark laser line on wall. Turn instrument 180 around its vertical axis and take 2nd reading. Mark centre point between two readings. Deviation of both readings from centre point should not exceed 2mm per 10m. Take two more readings after turning instrument 90 around its vertical axis and proceed as mentioned above.
