Celina Couple Receives Albert Heckler
Award from Cheryl Ann Programs
Louis and Dorothy Hoyng never imagined that theyd be-
come involved with Cheryl Ann Programs.
They were raising three happy, healthy boys in their Celina
home. Louie operated his custom upholstery shop next door,
and Dorothy worked in the high school cafeteria. They were a
typical family.
Then a very atypical thing happened. Their middle son,
Brian, was struck by lightning in 1981 when he was 16. With
that bolt out of the blue, the Hoyngs lives changed forever.
The odds of being struck by lightning are one in 280,000,
but the Hoyngs couldnt afford to spend much time thinking
about their terrible luck. They had a son who needed them
more than he ever had. The first years after Brians accident,
which left him with severe disabilities, were very difficult,
they said, as they searched for someone who could help them
help Brian.
Their school district helped as much as it could. Finally, then-
Superintendent Ralph Stelzer recommended a place the Hoyngs
knew about but had never visited as parents: Cheryl Ann.
Cheryl Ann was the best thing that ever happened to us,
Louie Hoyng said. It gave Brian his life back.
The people of Cheryl Ann helped Brian with his everyday
life. They gave him a place to go and jobs to do. He made new
friends, and enjoyed everything about his experiences there,
up to and including the bus ride out to Mud Pike.
When he would see Sam Morden (his bus aide) he would
just smile, and the people in Adult Day Services really knew
how to make him laugh, Dorothy Hoyng said.
It wasnt long before the Hoyngs were finding ways to re-
pay Cheryl Ann for its help. They were regular volunteers.
Louie Hoyng completed upholstery jobs for the unique
equipment used at Cheryl Ann, and often, said Superintendent
Mike Overman, Louie would forget to send us a bill. He
also served a term on the county MRDD board and was the
board president.
For all that, and for their tireless advocacy on behalf of
their son, the Hoyngs received the Albert Heckler Award at
the staff appreciation banquet in March. The award is given
each year to a Cheryl Ann family that exemplifies service and
advocacy.
The Hoyngs both served as good examples of first-rate
advocates for their son, Overman said. They rarely ever
missed a day spending time with him, and they always spoke
up to be sure his needs were being met. They were really spe-
cial parents for Brian, and really good supporters of our pro-
gram.
Brian Hoyng died in February 2008 at the age of 43. In the
years after the lightning strike he taught his family a lot about
patience, hope, endurance and acceptance. He introduced the
Hoyngs to a world they had only seen from the outsidebut it
was a world where they found welcome and acceptance.
We met some wonderful people during our years at Cheryl
Ann, Dorothy Hoyng said. They worked their hearts out
helping us with Brian.

Stateline Writers Meet
At the April meeting of the Stateline Writers Club, members read
profiles they had written about someone, living or dead or make-
believe, and member Eileen Whitsetts special activity of having mem-
bers combine pictures of particular scenes with a person or people
assigned to them to put into that scene brought interesting results.
Sue Miller and Gretchen Bollenbachers proposal for a special
meeting designed to attract new members was described and approved.
Members will be hosted by the Coldwater Public Library in June for
a reading of their best work.
At the next meeting, which will be on Saturday, May 16, mem-
bers will rehearse for their special program in June.
Stateline club members meet the 3rd Saturday of each month at
10 a.m. at the Celina Mercer County Library. Anyone interested in
coming to a meeting or becoming a member is cordially invited to
attend.
Celina Rotary Dog Park Dedicated
BY: BETTY LOU DENNEY/HALL
Opening day at the Celina Rotary Dog Park received
rave revues from the dogs. As the gates opened for the first
time on Tuesday May 12, dogs of all sizes were seen mak-
ing their way to the park to get a chance to run in over 3
acres of wide open spaces of the chain-linked fenced in
area. Small dogs area is an acre and the large dogs have
over 2 acres. The new park, which is one of newest and
biggest things happening in the State Parks around the coun-
try, was made possible due to the efforts of Deborha Borns,
Rotary Club President. Her friend, Darlene Lynskey, is also
working on getting a State Dog Park in her home town of
St. Marys. The two dog lovers along with many volunteers
worked many hours with the help of the State and Craig
Morton, who is the regional manager of Grand Lake St.
Marys. Together they cleared away debris from the previ-
ously unused land. The Park is located at the end of West
Bank Road
Deb Borns saw her idea come to life with the help of the
Celina Rotary Clubs major donation and businesses as well
as individuals who helped with labor and monetary dona-
tions. The idea came to her after visiting another dog park.
At the dedication ceremony Deb thanked many of the
people who made the park possible. Jeff Larmore, Past
Rotary President and Celina City Council Member spoke
as his 150 pound Newfoundland, Bentley checked out the
park. Jeff is also a large contributor to the park in honor of
the recovery of Bentley after he had been lost for several
days. Craig Morton, Regional Manager of State Park Gand
Lake St. Marys and John Hunter, Assistant Chief of the
Division of Parks and Recreation also spoke at the dedica-
tion ceremony. Deb concluded her speech with some wise
lessons that she has learned from her own dogs. A few of
which were: Never leave home without your leach and
your ID. If you stare at someone long enough, you will get
what you want. Last, if it is not wet and sloppy it is not a
real kiss.
One of the many visitors enjoying running free on dedi-
cation day was a lab /poodle mix owned by Dave Hochstien,
professor at Wright State University. He has other dogs at
home but decided to only bring one at a time. He com-
mented that this was the first time his dog had this much
exercise since he got him a year ago.
There are a few small problems to work out with the
park, such as the water faucet would not shut off and there
was a small hole under the fence in the small dog side of
the park, which of course was found by one of the little
furry visitors on dedication day. These problems will be
easily fixed. Memberships ($10) to Fur Ever Friends are
being sold to help with the upkeep of the park. The use of
the park is free to the public. One of the additions they
would like to have is benches added to the park for the
comfort of the owners.
The green stations placed around the fence for the dog
wastes were given at a discount by Florida based company
named DogiPot. Gary Brown, Assistant Operations Man-
ger, heard about the plans for the park and wanted to help
by giving discounts on the pots. The company has all Oxi-
biodegradable bags inside the pots for your dog waste. Gary
flew in from Florida to be a part of the ribbon cutting and
opening of the park. More of their products can be found
by going to: www.propet.org.
If visiting the park remember to follow the rules that are
posted at the entrance. Common sense is your guide such
as:
Dogs should have their current shots
The park has little dog and big dog sections, keep
dogs in their own spaces.
Dont leave dog unattended
Do not bring a dog that shows aggressive behavior
Keep small children under close supervision
Clean up after your own dog
Never bring a dog to the park that has an illness.
These are just a few precautions to remember. Check
the rules before entering the park and you and your dog
will have a great time The Park is open daylight to dark
everyday.
Deb Borns prepares to cut the ribbon at the Dedication of the Celina Rotary Club Dog Park. Helping to hold the ribbon
is Darlene Lynskey and John Hunter, assistant chief of the Ohios Division of Parks and Recreation. On left is Craig
Morton, Regional Manager of Grand Lake St. Marys. Right: Jeff Larmore and Bentley. Photo by Roy Hall.
It was a busy day with the
sheariing! We had twenty-six suri
alpacas from four farms. Coldwater
Creek Alpacas, the host farm,
Ravada Hills, from Salamonia,
Indiana; Humble Shepherds from
Union City; and Coyote Song
Farm from Union City.
Shearing is done once a year
in the spring here in the northern
midwest and Coldwater Creek
Alpacas volunteered to host the
event.
There was a total of 155.9
pounds sheared on Saturday the
12th of May.
Alpaca fiber is judged and
graded on its fineness of each fiber,
(or microns), the luster or shine it
has the density and consistency in
the fiber lock or twist throughout
the alpaca. Also the feeling of
softness and a cool slick feel to the
hand.
Suri fiber can be easily blended
with other types of fiber and when
used alone has a drape and elegant
feel, which is excellent for lace
weight items like shaws, scarves,
etc. It comes in many natural
colors and shows off dyed colors
radiantly.
Artisans use suri fiber for
spinning. Spinners love the feel of
the fiber as it flows through their
fingers and onto the wheel. Knitters
are just discovering this fiber,
but it is catching on like wildfire.
Weavers use it in noncommercial
outwear garments in the brushed
form and now in many new ways.
It is excellent worn next to the skin
for its beauty and elegance.
Items made out of alpaca
is everything from all types of
clothing, blankets, rugs, upholstery
material, hats, purses, art work,
bird nesting material, and many
more items. The fiber can be felted
and used for needle point work
too. Michael Sheets and Darrin
Haupert are also certified shearers
who also own suri alpacas.

Rev. J. L. Luttrells book,
History of the Auglaize Annual
Conference of the United Brethren
Church, from 1853 to 1891,
gives insight into this church.
In 1845, a United Brethren
Class had been organized at Mr.
and Mrs. Singleton Buxtons
home, by Rev. R. Gillem of
the Miami Conference of the
United Brethren Church. Every
year there was a big meeting at
the Buxton home or barn. The
meetings never lasted more than
two or three days and many souls
were converted. People traveled
a distance of up to twenty five
miles, to worship at this event.
For about 17 years, the church
continued to worship in a private
house, until they built their first
church in 1862 and a second
in 1879. Other churches were
organized in northern Mercer
County. The Spring Valley
United Brethren Radical
Church, and Burnt Wood United
Brethren Liberal Church were
located in Butler Township. The
Montezuma Class of the United
Brethren Church was organized
in Franklin Township in 1845 by
Rev. R. Gillen.
The Ledger of the Regular
Predestinarian Baptist Church
of Christ, located on Chickasaw
Creek, Mercer County, was
brought to me, years ago. Since
I am completing the book about
historical research in Marion
Township, I am studying this
Chickasaw Creek Church, the
Buxton Family and the United
Brethren Church in the 1850s.
This Chickasaw Creek Church
Ledger was dated between 1855
and 1900. The Ledger began
with the Mission Statement:
Church Covenant for Baptized
Members living on Chickasaw
Creek in Mercer County, Ohio:
We agree to enter into a Church
State with each other and do in the
presence of God solemnly unite
and form a Religious Society to
worship God and to celebrate
with Ordinance, maintain His
cause and promote His Honor in
the world, God enabling us to do
so. The statement was followed
with their Articles of Faith,
and Rules of Decorum. These
statements were followed with
the Constitution of the Regular
Predestinarian Baptist Church of
Christ. Signed April 21, 1855.
In pursuance of a request of a
number of Brethren and Sisters
of the Regular Baptist (Old
School) living on Chickasaw
Crick, Mercer County, Ohio,
the following Brethren from the
other church, met in Council to
Constitute them into a Church
from Stillwater Church Darke
County, Ohio Greenville
Association: Elder George
Cottral and Brethren J. B. John
and Wes York, Providence
Church, Darke County, Ohio
Greenville Association; Elder
Malon Peters, Greenville
Association; H.H. Rush.
The committee organized by
choosing Brother Elder Malon
Peters, Moderator and Jacob B.
John, Clerk.
Their List of deaths of
Members of this Regular
Predestinarian Baptist Church
of Christ. was written on
the inside cover of the above
ledger, between 1856 and 1870:
Greenbury Buxton, Catharine
Buxton, Maryann Buxton,
George Buxton, Mary Buxton,
Hannah Bablenge, Dennis Frank,
Catharine Frank, Mariah Buxton,
Seymor Craige, Elizabeth
Craige, John McDonnald,
Mariah McDonnald, James
Houser, Rebecca Jane Hole,
William Worthington. (Several
Members of the Buxton family
are listed.)
Records of regular meetings
were kept from 1855 until the
last entry was made in November

Pleasant Hill Church was
located in Northern Mercer
County, near the home of A.
Shindeldecker, and was the site
of the first session of the Auglaize
Annual Conference of the United
Brethren Church, on September
9, 1853.
The Happy Hearts 4-H club
met on April 30th at advisor
Jan Niekamps house. President
Krista Ranly called the meeting
to order at 6:30. The pledges
were led by Alexis Stammen
and Juliet Pallone. Secretary
Renee Jutte then read the min-
utes.
Under old business the con-
stitution and by laws were ap-
proved by the members. Jill
Kanney made a motion to ap-
prove them and Shannon Mc-
Neil seconded it. Members
were also reminded that the
money collected for Hopefest
had to be turned in by Thurs-
day. Members were also re-
minded that they could invite
a friend to 4-H camp and that
it didnt matter if they were in
4-H or not.
Under new business, mem-
bers were told about the chang-
es to what state fair participants
have to do this year. Members
were also given times for mod-
eling at the fair. Special inter-
est projects and food projects
are to be modeled at 6:00 and
clothing at 7:00 on Sunday of
the fair.. The members were
also reminded that if you took
a clothing project you have to
model it at the fair. The mem-
bers who took cake decorating
projects were also asked if they
had both their books and if they
didnt they received the one
they didnt have already. Mem-
bers were also told that when
they are at the fair if someone
asks to see their badges they
must be presented.
A safety tip was given by
Safety Officer Kelly Jutte to
wear sunscreen in the summer
and a health tip to watch out
for lightning when its storming
was given by Heath Officer Elli
Fullenkamp. The meeting was
then adjourned by Shannon
McNeil and Emily Fortener. A
safety report was given by Viv-
ian Pallone on car safety. Also
demonstrations were given by
Alexis Stammen on how to
make a bow and Shannon Mc-
Neil on how to set a table.
The next meeting will be an-
nounced at a later date.

COLUMBUS Eligible veterans who need some medical care but are ca-
pable of living independently have open rooms waiting for them in the Dom
at the Ohio Veterans Home Sandusky.
The Dom, short for Domiciliary, provides shelter, food and necessary
medical care to eligible veterans who are able to access their own care, mean-
ing they do not need the nursing services provided elsewhere in the veterans
home.
Its a really sweet deal, said Rick Hatcher, Superintendent of the Ohio
Veterans Homes, located in Sandusky and Georgetown. Our Dom administra-
tor, Andrea Klausing, has put together a great community where veterans can
live almost entirely on their own, but with a lot of services close at hand.
The Dom is in a separate wing of the Sandusky veterans home complex.
Each resident has their own room, with cable access, and a shared bath. The
wing features two reading lounges, a computer lounge with a printer and free
Internet service, its own dining facility, and a large meeting hall. Recreational
facilities, clubs and regular activities allow veterans to participate in everything
from the gym and power walking to crafts, gardening or Lake Erie fishing and
trips to local attractions. Residents also have the opportunity to work in support
functions.
Currently, about 100 rooms are available. Much of the cost for a veterans
stay at the Dom is funded by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, al-
though each resident is charged a monthly assessment fee based on their ability
to pay.
This is one of the best-kept secrets in Ohio, Hatcher said. We can offer a
very nice place to live for a veteran who just needs a little bit of assistance. They
can live among other veterans but also have a very high degree of privacy, in a
setting where we value all of our veterans, and at a very affordable price.
Id encourage everybody whos looking for this type of care to come up
and take a tour. Wed be very happy to have you, and I believe youd find that
we offer a very attractive and also cost-effective option for a veteran and their
family, Hatcher said.
Veterans and family members interested in learning more about domicili-
ary care at the Ohio Veterans Home can call (866) OHIO-VET (866-644-6838)
toll free, or local (419) 625-2454, ext. 1231 or 1237, or visit http://dvs.ohio.
gov/veterans_homes/admission_information.aspx .
County veterans service offices in every county can also assist in this pro-
cess. For contact information, call (877) OHIO-VET (877-644-6838) toll free,
or see the map at www.ohiovet.gov .
Traditionally, the Ohio Veterans Homes have achieved excellent ratings on
inspections conducted by both the Ohio Department of Health and the U.S.
Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as above average ratings on family
member satisfaction in an annual survey conducted by the Ohio Department
of Aging.
The Ohio Veterans Homes are state-operated nursing homes for eligible
Ohio veterans. To qualify for admission, veterans must have served during a
declared war or military conflict, must have been honorably discharged from
the U.S. military and must have been Ohio residents for at least one year dur-
ing his or her lifetime. The veteran must be infirm or disabled and incapable
of earning a living.
The Ohio Veterans Home - Sandusky is a 427-bed nursing home facility.
Sandusky also maintains 293 independent living beds in a domiciliary setting.
The Ohio Veterans Home - Georgetown offers 168 beds for nursing home care,
including a 21-bed hospice unit. Two levels of care are offered at the homes:
standard care for those veterans in need of any intermediate level of care, and
special care for veterans with Alzheimers disease and other types of demen-
tia.

Observations ... by John Bruns
A LITTLE MORE EXPLAINING
NEEDED
The Daily Standard broke the story
last week on the recent and somewhat
unexpected completion of the addition
of alum to Grand Lake. It would be
fair to state that the extent of chemical
distribution was not what the casual
observer or local representatives
most involved in the Lake restoration
were expecting. As Will Rogers once
said, I only know what I read in the
papers, but unlike Will, I also try to
get my information from television
news. Last year I feel confident I heard
or read about a partial trial use of alum
in the Lake to evaluate the results and
save some money. This year various
sources reported that extra funds had
been located for a total lake treatment.
The Standard supplied the following
figures, offered by John Holtz of HAB
Aquatic Solutions whose company
was subcontracted to supply the alum
to Grand Lake. Last year 1,750,000
gallons of alum and 877,000 gallons
of sodium aluminate were added to
the center of the Lake at a total cost of
$3,400,000. Holtz reported this year
that his company added slightly more
alum than last year, a total of 1,800,000
gallons of alum and 904,000 gallons
sodium aluminate, at a total cost of
$5,000,000. My math indicates we
received approximately 50,000 more
pounds of alum or 2.9 percent more
this year than last, but at an additional
cost of $1,600,000. The State paid 47
percent more dollars for less than 3
percent more product. Holtz mentioned
increased costs for chemicals and fuel.
I know absolutely nothing about the
chemical business, but if I were paying
this bill out of my own pocket, and my
costs came in about 50 percent higher
than last year for basically the same
product, I would surely try to educate
myself. Is it simply a matter of supply
and demand? Was there a problem
with the refinery process that limited
supply? How many suppliers are
there of the chemicals? Are wild price
swings normal? Should I invest in the
chemical producing business?
Our local leaders in the Lake
cleanup project know that all the alum
and the entire $8,400,000 bill has been
State money. Their expectations may

The rest of us however, should have

Friends and supporters of
State of the Heart Hospice can
make a donation to the non-
profit agency by signing up
for a promotional campaign
conducted by Preferred Insurance
Company of Coldwater. State
of the Heart, with offices in
Greenville, Coldwater and
Portland, provides care to
patients and families in eastern
Indiana and western Ohio who
are confronting a life limiting
illness.
We view the campaign
as a way to give back to
the community which has
supported our agency for
so many years, stated Matt
House, Marketing Manager for
the agency which is observing
its 100
th
anniversary.
State of the Heart is one
of seven agencies benefiting
from the promotional effort.
Others are Big Brothers Big
Sisters, C.A.L.L. Food Pantry,
GlobeMed, Mercer County Red
Cross, Our Home, and Serving
Friends and Families.
In order to become involved
in the campaign which runs
through June 15, simply
go to the web site: www.
Quotes4Causes. Once you
are there you can select which
agency you want to donate to.
For each donation you make,
and depending on the amount,
you get a chance at winning
one of five prizes: Char-Broil
Assembly 3-burner gas grill;
6 piece Wentworth outdoor
sofa set; 10 by 10 gazebo;
29outdoor fire pit, and a white
and blue corn hole set.
There is an additional
way to donate another $10 on
top of an original donation,
House explained. There is
a box to click where you can
call Preferred Insurance for a
quote. If you click this and call
us for a quote, the agency will
direct $10 to the charity of your
choice.
When someone makes a
donation to this specific charity
drive, the money that is taken in
is evenly shared with all seven
charities. The same goes for
the additional $10 quote that
shows up in the sites thank you
page. House said that people
can always receive a free quote
either on the specific page on
My Mercer County, or they can
also call in for a quote and say
they want the donation to go to
State of the Heart. House said
We donate $10 for every quote
received, no matter where it
comes from, and we give
donors the option of a charity
if they did not already have one
in mind.
House said Preferred
Insurance, located at 415
E. Main St. in Coldwater,
has a history of community
involvement and support of
charities. This is a way for
us to help the charities, bring
attention to them, and see what
opportunities are there to help
them, he said.
State of the Heart Hospice
has been providing hospice
care to patients and families for
more than 30 years. For more

profit agency, visit the web site

For the sixth year out of the past eight,
financial-services firm Edward Jones
ranks highest in investor satisfaction with
full service brokerage firms, according to
the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Full
Service Investor Satisfaction Study.
The study measures overall investor
satisfaction with full service investment
firms based on seven factors: investment
advisor, investment performance,
account information, account offerings,
commissions and fees, website and
problem resolution.
Edward Jones places its branch offices
in the communities where its clients -
long-term individual investors - live and
work. This practice, which enables its
branch teams to provide personalized
service to all clients, has helped the firm
attain the highest score in the Investment
Advisor category of the study.
We are gratified that our clients find
it convenient to work with us on their
long-term financial goals, Jim Weddle
said. We enjoy working one-on-one
with our clients and believe that builds a
collaborative relationship.
Edward Jones also received high
marks in the Account Information
category, an important factor in the study.
Hearing that we did particularly
well in the account information factor is
especially meaningful as we strive to help
our clients make sense of investing, Jim
Weddle said.
Edward Jones overall score climbed
15 points over last year, highest among
the 14 largest firms rated, as well as 28
points above the industry average.
Edward Jones ranked highest in
investor satisfaction by J.D. Power and
Associates in 2010 and 2009, from 2005
through 2007, and in a tie in 2002, when
the study began. Edward Jones in Canada
ranked highest in the J.D. Power and
Associates Canadian Full Service Investor
Satisfaction Study in 2006 through 2008.
The 2012 Full Service Investor
Satisfaction Study is based on responses
from 4,378 investors who primarily invest
with one of the 14 firms included in the
study. The study was fielded in February
2012.
Edward Jones provides financial
services for individual investors in the
United States and, through its affiliate,
in Canada. Every aspect of the firms
business, from the types of investment
options offered to the location of branch
offices, is designed to cater to individual
investors in the communities in which
they live and work. The firms 12,000-
plus financial advisors work directly with
nearly 7 million clients to understand
their personal goals -- from college
savings to retirement -- and create long-
term investment solutions that emphasize
a well-balanced portfolio and a buy-and-
hold strategy. Edward Jones embraces the
importance of building long-term, face-
to-face relationships with clients, helping
them to understand and make sense of the
investment options available today.
In January 2012, for the 13th
year, Edward Jones was named one
of the best companies to work for by
FORTUNE Magazine in its annual
listing. The firm ranked No. 5 overall
and No. 3 in Large Size Companies.
These 13 FORTUNE rankings
include top 10 finishes for nine years,
consecutive No. 1 rankings in 2002 and
2003, and consecutive No. 2 rankings
in 2009 and 2010. FORTUNE and
Time Inc. are not affiliated with and
do not endorse products or services of
Edward Jones.

Winners Determined Through Modeling and Questions
in Mid Week Competition
The Medical, Educational, and
Development (MED) Foundation
of Mercer Health recently awarded
$13,750 in scholarships to area
students planning study in a health
service field after graduation from
high school.
Upcoming graduates from schools
in Mercer County were on hand at
a signing ceremony held recently
at Mercer County Community
Hospital. Scholarships were awarded
to at least one person from each of
the schools in the county. Six of the
13 students each received a $1500
scholarship while five each received
$750 and two were awarded $500 in
scholarship money.
MED Foundation Director John
Hoying says, This is the twenty
first year for our program. All of the
money we have awarded since the
beginning has gone to help students
graduating from schools in Mercer
County. The total amount awarded
since our program began is over
$170,000. Thanks to the success
of our annual Esmonde/Homan
Memorial Golf Outing, we were able
to award our largest amount ever this
year.
Receiving $1500 scholarships
(and the schools from which they
will graduate) for 2012 are: Morgan
Homan (Coldwater), Lauren Siefring
(St. Henry), Jamie Wynk (Marion),
Natalie Lennartz (Ft. Recovery),
Sean Mertz (Celina) and Brooke
Boznango (Parkway).
Those awarded $750 scholarships
included Kristin Siefring (St. Henry),
Christen Wendel (Ft. Recovery),
Kristen Bertke (Marion), Travis
Goettemoeller (Coldwater), and
Tracy Donovan (Celina). Sarah
Moeder (St. Henry) and Rachel
Schmitz (Coldwater) each received a
$500 scholarship.
Hoying says, We have a nice
mix of students entering a variety
of healthcare fields that could be
beneficial to our community if they
chose to come back here after they
have completed their studies. We have
three students entering pharmacy,
one entering biomedical engineering,
one entering physical therapy, one in
speech pathology, two in pre-med,
four pursuing a degree in nursing and
one occupational therapy assistant.
Funds needed to finance these
scholarships are raised though the
Esmonde-Homan Memorial Golf
Open which will be held on June 13 at
the Mercer County Elks Golf Course.
Persons wanting to play in the Golf
Outing should contact John Hoying
at 419-678-5679. Sponsorship
opportunities are also available.
The MED Foundation hopes to
continue to award these scholarships
on an annual basis if there are
funds available. Persons wishing to
make a contribution can send their
donation to: MED Foundation; c/o
Mercer Health; 800 W. Main Street;
Coldwater, Ohio 45828.
