The Grand Supplication

From Suln al-Awliy, Mawln ashShaykh Abd Allh al-Fiz adDghestn, may God sanctify his secret. Bismillhi r-Ramni r-Ram. Allhumma alli al Muammadin anNabi l-mukhtr adada man alla alayhi mina l-akhyr, wa adada man lam yualli alayhi min al-ashrr, wa adada qaarti l-amr, wa adada amwji l-bir, wa adada r-rimli wa l-qifr, wa adada awrqi l-ashjr, wa adada anfsi l-mustaghfirna bi lashr, wa adada akmmi l-athmr, wa adada m kna wa m yaknu ila yawmi l-ashri wa l-qarr, wa alli alayhi m taqabu l-laylu wa nnahru wa alli alayhi m khtalafu lmalawn wa taqabu l-asrn wa karrara l-jaddn wa staqbala lfarqadn, wa balligh rahu wa arwhi hli baytihi minn tayyatan wattaslm wa al jami l-anbyi wa lmursaln wa l-amdu lillhi Rabbi lalamn.

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful. God, bless Muammad, the Chosen Prophet as the number of those who pray on him among the righteous and as the number of those who did not pray on him among the wicked; and as the number of the drops of the rain and as the number of waves of the oceans and as the number of the grains of sand and the wastelands, as the number of the leaves of the trees and as the number of the breaths of those who seek Your forgiveness by morning and as the number of the rinds of fruit and as the number of what was and what is until the Day of Gathering and Verdict. And Bless him (O God), as the turning of nights and days and bless him as long as the colors alternate and with the changing of time, and with the return of things renewed and with the constancy of diversity. And convey from us to his soul and the souls of the People of his house, greetings and salutations and on all the prophets and messengers. And all Praise is due to God. Allhumma alli al Muammad wa al li Muammadin bi adadi kulli dharratin alfa alfa marrah. Allhumma alli al Muammadin wa al li Muammadin wa abihi wa sallim. Subun quddsun rabbun wa rabbu l-malikati wa r-R, Rabbi ghfir wa ram wa tawjaz amma talamu

innaka Anta l-Aazzu l-Akram.

O God bless Muammad and the Family of Muammad as the number of all the atoms in creation a thousand times over. O God bless Muammad and the Family of Muammad and His Companions and grant them peace. Glorified and Hallowed art Thou, our Lord and Lord of the angels and the Holy Spirit. O our Lord forgive and have mercy and pardon of what You know (best), for You are surely the Most Honored, the Most Generous. Bismillhi r-Ramni r-Ram. Allhumma inn astaghfiruka min kulli m tubtu anhu ilayka thumma udtu fhi. Wa astaghfiruka min kulli m radtu bihi wajhaka fakhlaani fhi la laysa fhi rauk. Wa astaghfiruka li nniam illat taqawwaytu bih al mayatik. Wa astaghfiruka min adhdhunb illat l yalamuh ghayruka, wa l yaaliu alayh aadun siwk wa l tasah illa ramatika, wa l tunj minh illa maghfiratuka wa ilmuka. L ilha illa Anta subnaka inn kuntu mina -limn.

In the name of Allah, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful O Allah, I ask forgiveness of You for everything for which I repented to You then returned to. And I ask forgiveness of You for everything I displeased You with and all that concerns me with which You are displeased. And I ask forgiveness of You for the favors which I used for increasing my disobedience towards You. And I ask forgiveness of You for the sins which no one knows except You and no one sees except You and nothing encompasses except Your Mercy and nothing delivers from except Your forgiveness and clemency. There is no god except You alone. Glory be to You! Indeed I was an oppressor to myself. Allhumma inn astaghfiruka min kulli ulmin alamtu bihi bduka fa ayyam abdan min ibdika aw amatin min imika alamtu f badanihi aw irdhihi aw mlihi fihi min khazinak illati l tanqu, wa asaluka an tukriman bi ramatik illati wasiat kulla shayin wa l tuhnan bi adhbika wa tuan m asaluka fa inn aqqun bi-ramatika ya Aram ar-rimn. Wa alla-Allhu al sayyidin Muammadin wa lihi wa bihi ajmn wa l awla wa l quwwata illa billhi l-Aliyyi l-Am.

O God, I ask forgiveness of You for the injustice I committed against Your servants. Whatever of Your male or female servants whom I have hurt, physically or in their dignity or in their property give them of Your bounty which lacks nothing. And I ask You to honor me with Your mercy which encompasses all things. Do not humble me with Your punishment but give me

what I ask of You, for I am in great need of Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful. May God send blessings upon Muammad and upon all his companions. And there is no power and no strength save in God, the Most High, the Great. Bismillhi r-Ramni r-Ram. Bismillhi n-Nr, nrun al nr, alamdulillhi lladh khalaqa ssamawti wa l-ar wa jaala aulumti wa n-nr wa anzala attawrta al jabali -ri f kitbin masr. Wa l-amdulillhi lladh hwa bi lGhan madhkr wa bi l-Izzi wa l-Jall mashhr, walamdulillhi lladh khalaq as-samwti wa l-ar wa jaala -zulumti wa n-nr thumma lladhna kafar bi-rabbihim yadiln. Kf, H, Ayn, d. , Mm, Ayn, Sn, Qf. yka nabudu wa yka nastan. Y ayyu Y Qayym. Allhu lafun bi ibdihi yarzuq man yashu wa Hwa l-Qawiyyu l-Azz. Y Kf kulla shayin ikfin warif an kulla shayin innaka Qdirun al kulli shayin biyadika l-khayr innaka al kulli shayin Qadr.

In the name of God, the All-Beneficent, the All-Merciful. In the name of God, the Source of Light, Light upon Light. All praise is due to God who hath created the heavens and the earth. He created the darkness and the light and hath revealed the Torah on Mount Tr in a Composed Book. All praise is due to God who created the heavens and the earth and created the darkness and the light. Yet those who reject Faith hold (others) as equal, with their Guardian-Lord. (6:1) Kf, H, Ayn, d. , Mm, Sn, Qf. You alone do we worship and You alone do ask for help. (1:4) O Ever-Living One, O Self-subsisting One. Gracious is Allah to His servants: He gives Sustenance to whom He pleases: and He has power and can carry out His Will. (42:19) O Giver of all, provide me and turn from me everything that harms me. Surely You are capable over all things. In Your hands is all good and You have power over all things. Allhumma ya Kathr an-nawli wa y Dim al-wili wa y usna l-fili wa y Razzq al-ibdi al kulli l.

O God, the One who Grants plenty, O One of the Abiding Connection, O Doer of Good, O Provider of Your servants in every state. Allhumma in dakhala sh-shaku f

mn bika wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, if doubt has entered my belief in You, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma in dakhal ash-shakka wa lkufr f tawd yka wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, if doubt and disbelief entered my affirmation of Your Oneness, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma in dakhala ash-shubhata f marifati yka wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, if doubt enters my realization of You, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma in dakhala l-ujb wa rriy wa l-kibry wa s-sumatu f ilm wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh MuammadurRaslullh .

O God, if vanity, affected piety, arrogance and infamy affected me and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma in jara l-kadhiba al lisn wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh MuammadurRaslullh .

O God, if lies run upon my tongue, of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma in dakhalan-nifq f qalb min adh-dhunbi s-saghiri wa lkabiri wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, if hypocrisy entered my heart from the minor and major sins, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma m asdayta ilayya min khayrin wa lam ashkuruka wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh MuammadurRaslullh .

O Allh, from what You have granted me of all that is good and for which I had

not thanked You, and I was unaware of it, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma m qadarta l min amrin wa lam arhu wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, whatever You have destined for me in matters which I did not accept, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma m anamta alayya min nimatin fa-aaytuka wa ghafaltu an shukrika wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, from what You had conferred upon me of bounty for which I neglected to thank You, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma m mananta bihi alayya min khayrin fa lam maduka alayhi wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh MuammadurRaslullh .

O God, whatever You have bestowed on me of goodness and I did not praise You for it, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma ma ayyatu min umr wa lam tara bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh MuammadurRaslullh .

O God, whatever I have wasted from my allotted lifetime which You were not pleased, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma bim awjabta alayya min al-naari min mantika fa-ghafaltu anhu wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, of what You have imposed upon me in the observation of the creation of Your design and of which I was heedless, and I was unaware of it, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma m qaartu anhu ml f rajika wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, from whatever fell short of my hope in my turning to You, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God.

Allhumma mtamadtu al aadin siwka f sh-shadidi wa lam alamu bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha illAllh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, from placing dependence on other than You in the face of calamities, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma m astanatu li-ghayrika fish-shadidi wa n-nawibi wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh MuammadurRaslullh .

O God, in what I had sought assistance from other than You in calamities and misfortune, and of which I was unaware, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma in zalla lisn bis-suli lighayrika wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh Muammadur-Raslullh .

O God, if my tongue has slipped by askng other than You and I was unaware of it, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma m alua min shn bifalika farituhu min ghayrika wa lam alam bihi tubtu anhu wa aqlu l ilha ill-Allh MuammadurRaslullh .

O God, whatever was rectified in my affairs through Your Grace and I saw it coming from other than You, and I was unaware of it, I repent from it and say: There is no god except God, Muammad is the Prophet of God. Allhumma bi-aqqi l ilha ill-Allh wa bi-izzatih O God, by the right of l ilha ill-Allh and its Might; Wa bi-aqqi l-arshi wa aamatihih And by the right of the Throne and its grandeur; Wa bi-aqqi l-kurs wa saatih And by the right of the Chair and its vastness; Wa bi-aqqi l-qalami wa jariyatihi And by the right of the Pen and its motion; Wa bi-aqqi l-lawi wa afaatih And by the right of the Tablet and its preservation; Wa bi-aqqi l-mzni wa khifatih And by the right of the Scale and its accuracy;

Wa bi-aqqi -iri wa riqqatihi And by the right of the Bridge and it narrowness; Wa bi-aqqi Jibrl wa amnatihi And by the right of Jibrl and his trust; Wa bi-aqqi Riwn wa jannatih And by the right of Riwn and his paradise; Wa bi-aqqi Mlik wa zabnyatih And by the right of Mlik and his angels of punishment; Wa bi-aqqi Mkl wa shafqatih And by the right of Mkl and his compassion; Wa bi-aqqi Isrfl wa nafkhatih And by the right of Isrfl and his blowing (of the Trumpet); Wa bi-aqqi Azrl wa qabatih And by the right of Azrl and his seizing (of the soul in death); Wa bi-aqqi dam wa afwatih And by the right of dam and his purity; Wa bi-aqqi Shuayb wa nubwwatih And by the right of Shuayb and his prophethood; Wa bi-aqqi N wa safnatih And by the right of N and his vessel; Wa bi-aqqi Ibrhm wa khullatih And by the right of Ibrhm and his Friendship (to God); Wa bi-aqqi Isq wa dynatih And by the right of Isaq and his belief; Wa bi-aqqi Isml wa fidyatih And by the right of Isml and his ransom; Wa bi-aqqi Ysuf wa ghurbatih And by the right of Ysuf and his estrangement; Wa bi-aqqi Ms wa ytih And by the right of Msa and his signs; Wa bi-aqqi Hrn wa urmatih And by the right of Hrn and his sanctity;

Wa bi-aqqi Hd wa haybatih And by the right of Hd and his Majesty; Wa bi-aqqi li wa nqatih And by the right of li and his she-camel; Wa bi-aqqi L wa jratih And by the right of L and his guests; Wa bi-aqqi Ynus wa dawatih And by the right of Ynus and his invocation; Wa bi-aqqi Dnyl wa karmatih And by the right of Danyl and his miracles; Wa bi-aqqi Zakariy wa ahratih And by the right of Zakariy and his purity; Wa bi-aqqi Is wa syatih And by the right of Isa and his wandering; Wa bi-aqqi sayyidin Muammadin wa shafatih An taghfir lan wa li-wlidyn wa liulamin wa an tkhudha bi-yad wa tutyan suli wa tubalighan ml wa an tarifa an kulla man adn biramatika y Aramu r-Rhimn, wa tafan min kulli sin, l ilha illa Anta, subnaka inn kuntu min alimn.

And by the right of Our Master Muammad and his Intercession;

That You forgive us, our parents and our scholars and that You take me by the hand and that You grant me my asking and that You cause me to reach my aspirations and that You fend off all those who seek to harm me, by Your mercy, O the Most Merciful of those who give mercy. And to protect me from every vice. There is no god except You, Glory be to You! Surely I have been one of the wrong-doers. Y ayyu, y Qayym. L ilha illa Anta, y Allh, astghfiruka wa atbu ilayk. Fastajabn lahu wa najaynhu mina l-ghamm wa kadhlika nanja lmuminn wa asbuna-llhu wa nima l-wakl asb Allhu l ilha illa hwa alayhi tawakkaltu wa Hwa rabbu lArshi l-Am wa l awlah wa l quwwata illa billhi l-Am.

O Living, O Eternal there is no god except You. O All, I seek forgiveness in You and I turn to You, So We listened to him: and We delivered him from

distress: and thus do We deliver those who have faith. God is enough for us, the best Disposer of affairs; God sufficeth me: there is no god but He: On Him is my trust,- He the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme!" And there is no strength, nor power except by God, The High, The Mighty. Wa alla-Allhu al sayyidin Muammad wa al lihi wa bihi wa sallim ajmn. subn rabbika rabbi lIzzati am yaifn wa salmun al lmursaln wa l-amdulillhi rabbi llamn.

May God bless our master Muammad, His Family and Companions altogether. Glory to Allah, the Lord of the Throne: (High is He) above what they attribute to Him! And Peace on the Messengers and all Praise is due to the Lord of the worlds. Bismillhi r-Ramni r-Ram. Allhumma inn asaluka bi mushhadati asrri l-muibbn wa bi l-khalwati llat khaata bih sayyid al-mursaln na asrayta bihi laylat assbi wa l-ishrn an taram qalb alazn wa tujb dawat y Akram alAkramn y Aramar-Rimn. Wa alla-Allhu al sayyidin Muammadin wa al lihi wa bihi wa sallim ajmn.

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful. O God, surely I beseech You by the witnessing of the secrets of the Lovers and the seclusion which you hath specified with the Master of Messengers when You raised Him on the Night of the 27th. And to pity my sorrowful heart and to answer my plea, O Most Generous of those who show generosity, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy. May God bless our master Muammad, His Family and all his Companions and greet them with peace. Bismillhi r-Ramni r-Ram. L illha ill-Allh Muammadu Raslullh y Ramn y Ram y Mustaan y Allh y Muammad alla-Allhu alayhi wa sallam. Y Ab Bakr, y Umar, y Uthmn, y Al, y asan, y usayn, y Yahy; y alm, y Allh, wa l awlah wa l quwwata illa billhi l-Aliyyi l-Am.

In the name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful. There is no god except God, Muammad is the Messenger of God; O Merciful, O Beneficent One, O Mustan, O God; O Muammad peace and blessings be upon him. O Ab Bakr; O Umar; O Uthmn; O Al; O asan; O usayn; O Yay; O Forbearing One, O God. There is no power and no strength save in God, the Most High, the Great. Astaghfirullh Dh l-Jalli wa l-Ikrm min jami dh-dhunb wa l-thm. mn.

I seek forgiveness in God, the Possessor of Majesty and Honor, from every sin and transgression. Amen.
