Activities included: Testing for the presence of EB1 using the following techniques:
Immunofluorescence, Transfection, RNA interference, and Image Analysis. Images were
collected using a high powered microscope. Pictures were analyzed and ratios of


actin, ARP, and WAVE were calculated using pixels. The ratios were then averaged. A
presentation was given to faculty and staff reporting findings and methodology.

Activities Included: Prescriptions were filled with accuracy for patients. Performed inventory
checks to remove expired medications. Medications were delivered to locations within the
hospital upon request. Pharmacy reference books were maintained monthly. Personal knowledge
was gained in the management of a hospital pharmacy.

Activities Included: Knowledge was gained on mental disorders and their classifications
according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR).
Prescriptions were filled and medications were restocked accurately. Observed quality assurance
procedures. Attended a psychotropic drug lecture, and a patient behavioral intervention. Assisted
with pharmacy inventory, and discussed medication errors affecting inventory numbers. Became
acquainted with DocuMed dispensing technology.

Sept 27-Oct 15, 2010 Complete Care Pharmacy

Activities Included: Helped organize a booth and attended a Go for Red event. Assisted and
observed influenza vaccination administration, helped file influenza vaccination forms, and filled
prescriptions. A Proscript auto filling machine was used for filling fast moving medications.
Refill requests were faxed or phoned to physicians offices. A Baclofen/Oraplus oral suspension
was compounded from tablets for a patient under pharmacist supervision. A response was
formulated for a patient drug information question about clobazam. Volunteered at Kumler
Outreach ministries.

March 11-12, 2010 Service Learning Project
Bethalto East and Cathedral Grade School

Activities Included: Pre-school and grade school students were provided with nutritional and
lifestyle education through presentations. Over 300 presentations were given to participating
schools in the St. Clair and Madison County over the course of three weeks. Student
presentations provided a unique opportunity to practice providing the child population with
educational information.

Activities Included: Prescriptions were filled with accuracy for patients. A cold and influenza
brochure was prepared. Gained valuable insight in retail pharmacy and management.

Activities Included: Formulated and prepared an Everolimus drug evaluation review. Treatment
for H1N1 was reviewed as related to a transplant patient. Patient charts were reviewed. Insight
was gained on Veterans Affairs policies and procedures. Insight was gained in pharmacy as it
pertains to oncology. Paracentesis and bone marrow removal were observed.
