Capital Punishment

Capital Punishment or also known as death penalty consists to kill a person by the justice as punishment for a crime. Execution is known for centuries on many tribe or communities. Many historical penalties include the breaking wheel used in the Middle age, boiling to death used in many parts of Europe and Asia, flaying known as skinning used by The Aztecs and in the medieval Europe, disembowelment(removal of all the organs of the person alive) used in Asia and Europe, crucifixion by the Romans, impalement(penetration of an organism implying complete perforation of body) used Africa, Chile, Japan, England and Vietnam also known to kill vampire in some tribes , stoning or lapidation still used in Judaism and Islam, execution by burning very used for The Inquisition , dismemberment used in the Medieval and Early Modern era also in Peru for the execution of Tupac Amaru II, necklacing just stopped using 20 years ago by many countries and finally lethal injection which is used now a days by every country or state that applies the death penalty. Many people support the idea of execute a criminal if that person kill somebody referring to the holy bibles quote eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot. Another idea is Free Wil, no one is compelled to commit armed robbery, murder, or rape; so they must be aware of the consequences of their acts. Also, pro- death penalty people say it is safely for the community to execute a serial killer or a serial reaper. Last, many people especially extremely religious people support that idea because it is written in their holy books as Judaims or Islam and the rules who are made by their God must be followed. Otherwise you must receive a punishment. Despite what many people believe about Death penalty its cruel act not morally acceptable that take the life of the person who might be guilty or nor depending of the circumstances. The first and most important thing is what is implied by Capital Punishment. Killing is OK when its done by self-defense or as justice by the government, but kill, murder, and execution arent reduce just to the point of stop the live of a person? What would make one or another OK or not? Some people take the case of families victims painful, but isnt someone in pain after the murder, kill or execution of a loved one? Are we really making justice or is just a kind of revenge for the life the criminals take or destroy? Rarely do people think about DP as killing act, but its actually true. In the second place, Death Penalty is still killing someone so direct or indirect it promotes killing as an OK solution to a difficult problem. Many people might think that this is a good way to reduce crime rates. However, the countries or states which implemented the DP arent reducing crime rates. For example, Texas has twice the murder rate of Wisconsin, a state that doesn't have the DP.

In the third place, accepting DP isnt morally at all. Morality is basically defined as "the principles of right and wrong" but who has the final say in all matters of what's "right" & "wrong"? Catholics and Christians say The Holy Bible, Jews say The Tanakh and Islams, The Quran and agnostic people might say theirself taking the thought Do to others what you would have them do to you Consequently, do we really accept DP without affecting our believes about morality even if humans have totally different point of view? So here it is another controversial topic. For instance, Only Islams do punishment homosexual with the death penalty, which its consider and extremely type of murder by other cultures and countries. Lastly, the innocent may be wrongly executed. Clearly, we dont have a perfect and fast justice system. Many criminals were convicted while being defended by courtappointed lawyers who are often the worst-paid and most-inexperienced and leastskillful lawyers; so it might be an innocent person who is convicted to die. Since the DP was reinstated in 1976(EEUU), 82 inmates have been freed from Death Row. That's 1 Death Row inmate found to be wrongfully convicted for every 7 executed By AntiDeath Penalty Information. To conclude, Death Penalty shouldnt be taken as simply punishment with the idea that we are doing the best for our sociality getting away from the bad people and not to take it as the end of a life. Besides, we arent following The Free Will and just violating international human rights laws. "What says the law? You will not kill. How does it say it? By killing!" - Victor Hugo, author of Les Miserables.
