Old Light Vs.

New Light Whenever the Watchtower changes doctrine or some kind of theological teaching, the governing body claims they received this from Jehovah. Therefore, the old teaching or former doctrine is no longer valid. The new teaching or new doctrine is called New Light. The old light is obsolete even if it contradicts the New Light. The Watchtower writes "If we (the Watchtower governing body) were following a man undoubtedly it would be different with us; undoubtedly one human idea would contradict another and that which was light one or two years ago would be regarded as darkness now. But with God there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning, and so it is with truth; any knowledge or light coming from God must be like its author. A new view of truth never can contradict a former truth. New Light never extinguishes older light, but adds to it." (WT Feb. 1881,page3) Then the Watchtower goes on to say in 1976 It is a serious matter to represent God and Christ in one way, then find that our understanding of the major teachings and fundamental doctrines of the Scriptures was in error, and then after that, to go back to the very doctrines that, by years of study, we had thoroughly determined to be in error. CHRISTIANS CANNOT BE VACILLATING - 'wishy washy' - about such fundamental teachings. WHAT CONFIDENCE CAN ONE PUT IN THE SINCERITY OR JUDGEMENT OF SUCH PERSONS." (Watchtower 5/15/76 p 298) I ask JWs what confidence can you put in an organization that hypocritically can not abide by their own words? Look at all of the doctrinal changes your wonderful organization has shifted. Naughty Naughty Naughty! Remember, Old Light cannot contradict New Light. You should not be wishy washy and vacillate according to your own words.

Who is this prophet? This prophet is not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovahs Christian Witnesses. Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a prophet of God. It is another thing to prove it.
