Job title: Research Associate, North East (Candidates from the region are preferable) Location: New Delhi

Job description: The incumbent will need to coordinate ASER Centre projects for the entire NE region comprising 8 states. Below are the primary tasks and responsibilities that the job may entail: Coordinate Research, Assessment and Evaluation studies for ongoing and new projects of ASER Centre. The candidate shall be expected to work on the following aspects: o Work in teams to design evaluation tools and formats based on pre-defined goals and indicators o Conduct trainings and monitor survey pilots on the field o Design, conduct and coordinate field level surveys o Collate and analyze findings from the data collected o Present Reports on findings to diverse stakeholders o Build capacity (through training, coordinating work plans and schedules, mentoring) of state associates from a specific region of the country to conduct independent evaluations in their region

To be able to perform the above tasks effectively, the candidate shall be expected to work in close coordination with the central team of the NE and with the Central Research Team. Qualifications and competencies: Following are the basic qualifications and competencies the candidate is expected to possess: o Educational Qualifications: Minimum Post-Graduate o Proficiency in M.S. Office (Excel, Power Point and Word) o Candidate should possess strong communication skills (written and oral) to effectively correspond with a diverse audience. This would require proficiency in English + Hindi. Multiple working knowledge of the languages of the NE will be of advantage. o Attention to detail to effectively coordinate assessment, monitoring and evaluation processes o Preferred: Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and the ability to deal with large data sets with the help of analysis packages such as STATA. In addition to the above technical competencies and qualifications, the candidate should be: Willing to travel extensively to anywhere in India (especially rural India) to conduct trainings, to coordinate and monitor evaluations on the field. He/ She should be able to adjust and work in tough field situations Willing to spend a lot of time in coordinating with state teams Able to handle work pressures and deliver under tight schedules Able to work well in teams and lead teams, when required to do so Remuneration: Rs. 24,000 26,000 per month (all inclusive). Salary is negotiable based on experience and qualification of the candidate.
