Katipunan ng Sangguniang Mag-aaral saUP | Since 1981 c/o Office of the Student Regent, Vinzons Hall Basement, UP Diliman 981-8500 loc. 4511 or 4512 May 2, 2012 MEMORANDUM NO. NEC2011-2012-ARGUELLES-003 TO: SUBJECT: ALL MEMBER COUNCILS 2nd NATIONAL COUNCILS MEET (NC MEET)

Warm nationalist greetings! KASAMA sa UP have always believed that our involvement in service as student leaders transcends the boundaries of our university reaching the other sectors of our society especially the oppressed. We go out of the university believing that our mandate does not end in serving the students but in uniting our struggle with the marginalized sectors of the society for a collective effort to transform this nation into a truly just and free society. Outside student issues, we have always been an advocate of peoples issues. Many UP student leaders have fully dedicated their lives in the struggle of the peasants for lands & genuine agrarian reform, the workers for wage hike, employment & national industrialization, the women for equal opportunities & true emancipation, and for our rights and welfare be it political, economic or social. It has always been our call, our mandate and our understanding that when we say we serve the people, we mean the poor, the landless & the unemployed and we mean being one with them, their struggle and liberation. It is time we reaffirm our commitment to be advocates of peoples issues by exposing ourselves in their conditions, intensively discuss their issues & concerns and collectively find common solutions for our common problems. We hope to achieve this through the 2nd National Councils Meet (NC Meet), 19-21 May 2012, at the College of Engineering and Agro-industrial Technology, UP Los Banos. This NC meet seeks to forge unities regarding different peoples issues as well as deepen our understanding of our society vis--vis our role as student leaders in achieving genuine social change. Weve attached a copy of the provisional program for your guidance. Were expecting delegates from ALL member councils as a sign of reaffirmed commitment to the principles and objectives of the alliance. We kindly ask each delegate to prepare Php 1150.00 for food, accommodation and registration fee (3 D/ 3N). Please send confirmation details on or before 15 May, Tuesday to the undersigned thru email (clevekevinrobertarguelles@gmail.com) or mobile phone

We are also arranging for a bus trip from UP Diliman to UP Los Banos on 19 May, leaving Diliman by 6am. Please arrange your own travel trip from the airport or other area to Diliman. We request that delegates coming from far units arrange their travel according to this bus trip. We are also requesting delegates to bring a copy of their council constitution and university rules on student activities and formations as well as your regions unique set of foods for our pasalubong festival. Please present them during registration. We hope to see you all!
