Response teams can quickly deploy GateKeeper systems in austere conditions and inclement weather without the need of ladders, forklifts or tools. With the addition of the Isolation Kit, the unique GateKeeper system inherently possesses the ability to be positively and negatively pressurized for medical isolation in the event of a contagious event. Adding units to the primary structure does not compromise these isolation capabilities. With a double door entry system at 46 wide and 70 tall, each shelter allows for movement of wheeled containers, beds and other items into the shelter without obstruction. The incorporation

of a solid internal structural frame, capable of supporting up to 50 lbs, provides space to freely hang oxygen systems, heart monitors and other medical support equipment and supplies. As a leader in the emergency shelter industry, Western Shelter Systems custom solutions provide everything your team needs for the best in on-scene emergency and disaster response.

Standard Components
The Western Shelter GateKeeper line of portable field hospitals was engineered to create an easily transportable, rapidly deployed and environmentally secure system that would provide emergency responders with all the tools necessary to administer the best care possible. Each component of the GateKeeper system allows the user to implement an efficient operation with a variety of capabilities while saving time and maximizing space. Each independent GateKeeper system consists of these minimum components:

Frame Assembly
Constructed from aircraft grade aluminum with industrial anodized support members, the frame assembly cannot rust. The framework was designed to allow for individual replacement of any component without the return or loss of the entire frame structure. Each shelter has two 45 x 70 double doors, set in a rigid frame, that are optimal for moving patient beds and other items without obstruction.

WALL & ROOF PANELS

14 oz. Vinyl Wall and Roof Panels

Panels include special inhibitors to protect against ultraviolet light, dry rot and mildew. Non-wicking fabrics will function without deterioration of performance in temperatures ranging from -20 F to 135 F. Each vinyl wall and roof panel meets all the standards for fire resistance in accordance with NFPA 701. Each wall panel is outfitted with a minimum of 9 sq. ft. of window per 10 linear feet. Windows are built with a clear removable exterior storm window and insect screens. A privacy flap is welded to each window to ensure patient privacy.

Sealable Floor
Made of 18 oz. vinyl, this unique flooring system quickly and easily attaches the floor berms to the wall panels, preventing water leaks. Easy sealing flooring connects directly to the shelter while allowing for integration of vestibules and add-on rooms. The floor provides connection points which allow the structure to be positively or negatively isolated without additional modifications.

ROOF INSULATION

Roof Insulation
An energy reflective thermal barrier roof panel is provided to create dead air space, insulate, provide noise abatement and minimize heating and cooling energy requirements. The thermal barrier roof panel has a bright, easily cleanable, interior face and a highly reflective aluminized Mylar exterior surface. This thermal barrier is independent of the shelter roof and walls and capable of being removed or used separately.

Threshold Ramp
Easily installed under each door without interfering with floor and wall seals.

Wiring Harnesses
GFCI protected system comes pre-wired and installs quickly onto the shelter frame, furnishing quick and easy power for lights, computers or medical equipment. Wiring harness system has the ability to perform independently or to interconnect to form one continuous wiring harness. Each wiring harness includes 2-gang duplex outlets that are meant to snap into the vertical leg of shelter frame.

HVAC Duct Boots

For additional climate control, four 12- 18 exterior HVAC wall connection points are built into the walls of each shelter.

High-Wind Tie-Down Kit

Each shelter is able to withstand 50 mph sustained winds, heavy rain loads and minimal snow loads. Taught exterior wall and roof panels also help to reduce the sound of strong winds during operations. Tie-down straps are easily latched on to the shelter frame and can be staked into the ground or attached to water anchors. High wind tie-down straps provide high visibility color during daylight hours and retro-reflective material for visibility at night.

When additional doors are not necessary, replacement filler panels are included to prevent passage.

Vinyl Repair Kit

Kit provides vinyl repair components to quickly fix any damage to the vinyl shelter while in the field.

Storage and Transport Field Bags

All major components of the Western Shelter GateKeeper System come with custom made heavy-duty bags. Made of 18 oz. vinyl, these bags add a greater level of portability to the entire system. Field transport bags utilize up to 40 lbs per-person lift maximum with no bag exceeding 140 lbs. Each component is labeled for simple and efficient inventory control

The Western Shelter GK2360 is the largest shelter you can set up without the aid of tools, ladders or lifts. Like all Western Shelters, the GK2360 is ideally suited for emergency response field teams, military operations, alternate care sites, remote construction sites, wildland fire base camps, crime scene investigations and more. In larger camps, this shelter can be used as a kitchen and/or dining space. It can be set up to sleep 20 persons dorm style in single bunks, or up to 40 when bunk beds are utilized. Optional wall dividers can create up to ten separate rooms including a central hallway. As office space, it will easily accomodate multiple workstations. The GK2360 works well for laundries, shower houses and combined bathroom/ablution complexes, especially where gender separation is required.

The MRTS GateKeeper system combines GateKeeper shelters with the storage capacity and instant mobility of a climate controlled 53 trailer. Each GK 1935 is connected to the complex with its own Vestibule Connector. Because all FEMA USAR and NDMS DMAT teams (and most state and local teams) respond with Western Shelters, your shelters can be connected directly to most subsequent responders to create an ever-enlarging weatherproof complex. A trailer mounted generator powers all MRTS components and shelters with an integrated 200 gallon fuel tank. When emptied of its shelters, support equipment, and supplies, the MRTS trailer converts to billeting space with bunk beds for up to 24 people. The onboard 8.5 x 11 command center and the 8.5 x 40 cargo/billeting space are completely climate controlled. When deployed in support of any all-hazard mission, the command center in the nose of the trailer is operational as soon as the on-board generator is started.

Simply position the Vestibule Entryway at an existing double doorway to create an enclosed, weather-secure porch or entryway. Each 8 by 8 Vestibule Entryway comes complete with roof insulation, vinyl flooring and a privacy partition to be installed between the entryway and the main room of the shelter.
