beach soccer pitch in Norton. Teams have been formed comprising both boys and girls. The leader has engaged Peer Educators to educate the youths on GBV issues. Through the programme the leader has encouraged youths to go for VCT as well as to speak out against gender violations

The leader is well known for promoting Gender & GBV initiatives. She has encouraged registration of beach soccer clubs to be 50/50.

The project runs as follows

Training is twice a week (2 hours per session)Tuesdays & Thursdays

HOW HAS THE LEADER HELPED TO POPULARISE GENDER AND GBV ACTIVITIES AND INITIATIVES IN THE WORKPLACE? Through trainings with other Gender Activist Institutions e.g. WIPSU, ZiLGA we have advocated for policy change in council to be gender sensitive. The leader has put forward a motion paper advocating for council to adopt a Gender Policy NAME OF GOOD PRACTISE

We have the first beach soccer pitch in Zimbabwe.

A decrease in the number of idle youths.

Decrease in crime involving youths in Norton. Decrease in unwanted pregnancies and baby dumping by

youths. Decrease in prostitution by school going children. Networks have been formed with FIFA, ZIFA (Beach Soccer Zimbabwe). Youths with problems now have a platform to share their experiences.

Youths have been

enrolled on football scholarships in various schools of sporting excellence. These have attributed to leaders ability to identify the problem & initiating the project which she commits her energy and time.
