INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

1. How would you describe the pupils in your class? Most of the pupils are advanced pupils. They are very active and participate in the activity. They are quite good in speaking but weak in writing. When I conduct an activity, most of them are able to do and complete the activity.

2. Do they show any misbehaviour? Yes. There are some pupils who show misbehaviors during the lesson.

3. How do you handle the pupils with misbehaviours? Firstly, I will call his or her name and I will give a warning to them. Secondly, if they still show misbehaviors I will deduct their points based on the reward chart. Thirdly, if they still do not show any change of their behaviours I will write their names in Buku Pemantauan. After that the school especially the discipline teacher will take the further action.

4. What do you think of using positive and negative reinforcement to control their behaviour? I think both of these reinforcements have their own pros and cons. It depends on the situation and how the teacher implements in the classroom.

5. Do you implement the use of reinforcement during your lesson? If yes, what type of reinforcement have you used during you experience of teaching? Yes. Usually, I use positive reinforcement in the classroom. For example, if the pupils have done a good job I will add extra points at the reward chart. If they show any misbehavior I will deduct the points.

6. Why do you choose to use that particular reinforcement? Do you find it effective?

I choose to use positive reinforcement because I find out that the pupils like to be in a competition. They like to collect marks and want to see who is the winner or who is the best. If I prepare a present as a reward, most of them will work very hard to get the present.

7. How do you describe the behaviour of your students after the application of the positive and negative reinforcement? They will behave and the classroom is under control. They also feel excited and they want more.

8. How do you think the use of positive and negative reinforcement help in controlling students behaviour? It helps in controlling the pupils behaviour because when I implement the reinforcement, they will show the changes in their behaviour. They will listen to my instructions and do the worksheet given.

9. Do you intend to continue the use of positive reinforcement in your future lessons? Why? Yes. Because it gives positive effects during the lesson. By using positive reinforcement, I can control the pupils behaviors and it provides an effective environment for the pupils to learn.
