Evening Tom, Daisy it is so good to see... *Phone rings from hall* Ill be right back Tom excuses himself Daisy welcomes Nick in, and closes door Wait here *She leaves* That whore is calling you here?! When I have a guest?! *Tom quietly leaves* ~ Im sorry about that incident last night, but, I had wanted to schedule for me to meet my girl. Tom smiles at Nick If you know what I mean They leave in Toms car They arrive at a beat-up gas station (Moraga, near the firestation) Hiya Babe! *Myrtle appears, personality bubbly and bratty* I need some more money babe for...

Sometimes I think that you are only with her still for the sex! *Tom rises and punches Myrtle* blood gushes, and Nick leaves to avoid further conflict. ~ *Knocking at Nicks door* (Still dark) light appears in hallway and door opens Hello sport! My name is Gatsby, Jay Gatsby, and you must be Nick Carraway! Shakes hands. Id like to invite you to have lunch with me in the city, get to know each other *Gatsbys car* When I was young my parents died in a terrible accident. I was left with all of their money... *adds quickly* It wasnt important to me at all! But back then I was living in the mid west. Oh really? nick questions Where at? Gatsby thinks, for a second. San Francisco *changes subjects* I fought in the war once. WWI of course. Won a few metals... It was nothing really. After I returned I went to Oxford for school. Opens wallet with a hand still on the steering where See, there I am, at Oxford Shows nick a photo (photo in black and white, dont show the details) ~ I went to lunch with gatsby in the city, where I met a close friend of his by the name of Meyer Wolfshiem. I believe he was jewish, but for some reason something didnt fit about him... I had a conversation earlier that week with a friend of Daisys by the name of Jordan Baker, athletic woman, a bit too much of herself. She told me that while Gatsby was a lieutenant in the army Daisy and himself were in love. That must be why he asked me to lunch in the first place, because afterwards... he begged me to have Daisy and himself meet up again. ~ *Doorbell rings* Nick answers, Daisy is there. Daisy, welcome, it is good to see you. Leads her into the living room when

*Doorbell rings again* Gatsby is at the door Hello Sport. It is a lovely day outside minus the rain, I thought I would take a stroll over here and see how you are. Walks into the living room to see Daisy (acts surprised) Daisy? Is that really you? it has been so long. As he walks over, he clumsily knocks a clock down to the floor. As he is picking up the clock and mumbling about how sorry he is, Daisy exscuses herself for a moment. Worried... Sport, this wasnt a good idea, I shouldnt be here. I should just go Daisy returns. Ill just leave the two of you to catch up. *nick exits* (while seeing gatsby and Daisy talk) NIck, even through all of the years being away from her, Gatsby still seemed to believe that the Daisy he once knew and loved was standing there in my living room. He could show her all the clothes he has, all the money he has gotten through all these years. But is Daisy really who he wants her to be? *fades black* ~ A few weeks later a young reporter knocked on my door asking me what I knew of my landlord Jay Gatsby. Asking if really knew the truth about the man, his history. I asked Gatsby later that day of this inquiry from this man. (Gatsbys backyard. Sunny day.) You know sport, I wasnt always the rich Gatsby everyone knows me to be today. When I was a boy my name was James Gatz, the son of a farmer. *drinks part of his drink and continues* One summer when I was the age of 17, I was working at Lake Superior fishing Salmon for the local markets when I saw this majestic yacht in the pier. I asked around and found out it was owned by a man named Dan Cody. I started talking to the guy, and one day Cody took me in as his assistant, he changed my name to what it is today and taught me everything that got him to be successful in life. he pauses... then slowly continues with a sigh After knowing Cody for a few years, a terrible accident happened that led to his death. Cody had left me over 25,000 dollars. The problem was, his damn mistress didnt give me a single cent. That was when I went into the army. That was how I met daisy. while fading to black Nick- And with a sigh, he just stopped talking about it ~ A few weeks after my talk with Gatsby, I was invited to Daisys house for dinner, we were to go to the city and site see. Ever since my talk with Gatsby about his past, I hadnt seen him. His grass had grown longer, his staff fired, and new people had gone to work for him. SO it came to a surprise for me when I got to Daisys house and saw Gatsby there talking with daisy. we all gathered ourselves and left for the city. By this time Tom had started to realize that the interaction between Daisy and Gatsby was more friendly then he wanted it to be. Angry, Gatsby and Daisy left. ~

*You see Daisy mad while driving Gatsbys car, he is trying to tell her to slow down when out of nowhere Myrtle walks into view. Daisy instead of stopping accelerates her car and runs over Myrtle. (During this scene It would be good to flash from myrtle to Daisy) ~ As tom passes the gas station he sees Mr. Wilson crying over Myrtles dead body. Mr. Wilson is mumbling to himself. W-w-w-we were going to leave. W-w-w-we were going to r-r-run away together. At the sight of seeing Tom he is furious and stutters Y-y-y-your car! That was y-y-your car!!! Mr Wilson rises. As he starts coming towards Tom, Tom says, Now hold on a second. Im here arent I? How could that be my car? The sp-p-ports car you showed me last week. T-t-that is what r-r-ran her over. Mr. Wilson hand raises to punch Tom. That wasnt my car Mr. Wilson Wilson Pauses. That was the car of Jay Gatsby you see Mr. Wilson Furious *screen goes black* ~ *Knocking on door* pause *knock is louder* pause *knock repeats until the door opens* Gatsby opens door to see Nick outside. Gatsby looks ill and restless. His clothes are still on from the previous day and he is surprised and sad to see Nick. Oh... Its you. He walks away. Nick comes in. Backyard near the pool/jacuzzi. nick sits patiently and waits for an explaination It wasnt me you know. I let Daisy drive because she was so upset, I couldnt just let her take the blame. I love her too much. She was supposed to show up last night. We were going to run off together. He sighs I remember in 1917, I was staying in Louisville. I had two months off in the army and had nowhere to go. That was when I met Daisy. She was rich, and at the time I wasnt. Codys mistress had run off with all the money, I was flat broke. But anyways. During those two months, we fell in love. She promised to wait for me. Gatsby sighed again, and blanks out in front of him She promised. He changes the subject. I havent gone in the water yet this summer, I think that will do the thing to cool me off before the pool man comes tomorrow. *Nick leaves* ~ You see Gatsbys eyes are open when a hand gun comes into view. the screen goes plank and two gunshots are heard.

~ screen still blank Yes, hello, I am just calling about the death of Jay Gatsby... oh, you heard... I heard you were a good friend of his and wanted to know if you would like information about his funeral.... *click*... hello? ~ By this time, nick has moved, you see a sign saying welcome to san francisco and Nick is in his car, When it came to the funeral, none of Gatsbys partys, popularity, or money mattered, because that all went away. In the end... no one bothered to show up to his funeral except me. ~ Nick gets out of the car and sees Tom, quickly he turns around and walks the other way. It is too late. Hey! Nick! How are you Tom hits his arm on Nicks shoulder like an old friend saying hi. Im.... Fine Pushes Toms arm off. I have somewhere to be hey. HEY! Whats with you? You think I had to do with the death of Gatsby? We all know Wilson killed the dude, and he was so upset about the whole thing that he blew his own brains out. But Gatsby got what he deserved, hitting on married women, running over people like that? Im surprised it didnt happen earlier. He laughs/ sorta Nick shakes his head and just walks away. *ending credits*
