1. Applications are invited from unmarried Male candidates for Permanent Commission in Logistics Cadre and unmarried Male and Female candidates for Short Service Commission in Education Branch and ATC of the Indian Navy, who fulfill the condition of nationality as laid down by the Government of India for Course commencing Dec 2012 at the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala. ELIGIBILITYCONDITIONS - 2. Age.

Full Pay and allowances are admissible to the Officers whilst undergoing training. SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION - 10. Short Service Commission is granted for a term of 10 years, extendable to 14 years, subject to service requirement and performance/willingness of the candidate. On completion of these tenures, officers are entitled for gratuity under the extant rules. TERMS AND CONDITIONS - 11. Selected Candidates will be on a probation till two yrs from the date of reporting to the Indian Naval Academy/ the date of commencement of training/completion of the initial training whichever is later. Any candidate found married or who marries while undergoing training will be discharged. He shall be liable to refund full pay and allowances drawn by him and any other expenditure incurred on him by the Govt. 12. (a) DUTIES OF LOGISTICS OFFICER - Logistics Officer deals with the Logistics aspects of Men and Material. He plays a vital role in the human aspect of the ship/establishments organisation. A modern warship irrespective of its role needs a continuous supply of fresh provisions, fuel and spares. You as a Logistics Officer will be responsible for smooth supply of stores to all naval units. In no other career does an officer get such a vast exposure to keep abreast of modern and latest development in the field of management and finance. Officers with Works Specialisation would get a wide exposure in Civil Works and Infrastructure related appointments during the span of their career. (b) DUTIES OF AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL OFFICER - The Indian Navy operates various types of modern aircraft from shore based airfields as well as from ships. Air Traffic Control Officers in the Indian Navy control naval fighter aircraft, maritime reconnaissance aircraft and multi role helicopters both ashore and afloat. In no other career, an officer gets exposed to such a wide spectrum of opportunities to keep abreast of modern and latest developments in the field of Air Traffic Control. Life in the Navy is full of challenges and adventures. The Navy provides some of the finest training facilities, which will turn you into a skilled professional, mentally agile and physically fit officer. (c) DUTIES OF EDUCATION OFFICER: Education officers are responsible for imparting instructions onboard Training Ships & Establishments. Avenues to specialise in Meteorology & Oceanography/ Naval Communications/ Anti SubmarineWarfare/Gunnery/Navigation & Direction/ Hydrography/IT and MTech Courses are also available. Education officers will also be responsible for control and co-ordination of Schooling/ Libraries/Academic facilities, Distance Education, Naval examinations for control and co-ordination of Schooling/Libraries/Academic facilities, Distance Education, Naval examinations(On/Off line), development of Training Design and Evaluation and Human Resources. THE NAVY OFFERS YOU: 13. Pay Scale & Promotions. The promotion from Sub Lieutenant to Commander is on time scale basis and thereafter on selection basis subject to fulfillment of requisite service conditions. (a) Candidates will be issued call up for Service Selection Board (SSB) interviews based on their performance in Degree Course. If a candidate possesses higher qualification with better percentage, his higher qualification will be considered for cut off. Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Navy) reserves the right to short-list applications and to fix cut off percentage. No communication will be entertained on this account. SSB interviews for short-listed candidates will be scheduled at Bangalore/Bhopal/Coimbatore during Jul - Nov 2012. (b) Stage I test, consisting of Intelligence Tests, Picture Perception and Discussion Tests will be conducted on the second day of arrival at SSB. Candidate who fail to qualify in Stage I will be routed back on the same day. Stage II Tests comprising of Psychological Testing, Group Testing and Interview will last for 04 days. Successful candidates will thereafter undergo Medical examination (approx duration 03-05 days). (c) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be appointed for training in order of All India Merit depending on the number of vacancies. 15. Cost to Company (CTC). The CTC for a Sub Lieutenant would be approximately Rs. 66,000/- per month. This includes Basic Pay, DA, Grade Pay, Military Service Pay, House Rent Allowance and Transport allowance. These rates are subject to change. 16. Privileges. In addition to the CTC mentioned above, Navy provides Free Medical Facilities for Self & dependents, Canteen Facilities, Entitled Ration, Mess/Club/Sports Facilities, Furnished Govt. Accommodation, Car/Housing Loan at subsidised rate. 17. Group Insurance & Gratuity. Insurance cover of Rs. 40 lakhs (on contribution) and Gratuity will be granted to the officer as per the latest rules in force. 18. Leave Entitlements. On Commission, officers are entitled to 60 days annual and 20 days casual leave every year (subject to service exigencies). They are also entitled for 40% rail concession to any place and free travel (as per extant rules) for self and family. Leave during training period will be as per the Training Policy in force. 19. Sports & Adventure. The Navy provides facilities to pursue any sport of your liking. In addition, one can learn and participate in adventure sports, such as river rafting, mountaineering, hot air ballooning, hang gliding, wind surfing etc. 20. Physical Fitness. In Naval Academy curriculum, a lot of emphasis is laid on physical fitness. You are therefore, advised to remain fit by undertaking regular physical exercises, sports, running, swimming, etc. so that you meet the training goals successfully. Orthopaedically Challenged (OC) Locomotor Disability means disability of bones, joints or muscles leading to substantial restriction of the movement of the limbs or any form of cerebral palsy. Cerebral Palsy means a group of nonprogressive conditions of person characterized by abnormal motor control posture resulting from brain insult or injuries occurring in the pre-natal, peri-natal or infant period of development. All the cases of Orthopaedically Challenged Persons would be covered under the category of Locomotor disability or cerebral palsy. C. Definition Of Ex-Servicemen (EXSM) Ex-Servicemen (EXSM): Only those candidates shall be treated as Ex-servicemen who fulfill the revised definition as laid down in Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms Notification No.36034/5/85 Estt. The Medical Board consists of Chief Medical Officer, Sub-Divisional Medical Officer in the District and a member who is a specialist in Orthopaedics, ENT or Ophthalmology, as the case may be, 7. SELECTION PROCEDURE: Selection for the post of `Probationary Officer will be made on the basis of performance in Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by IBPS in September 2011/ Supplementary written examination on November 2011 and Interview. 8. SERVICE BOND: -The selected candidates shall be required to execute a service bond of Rs.50,000/- (Rs. Fifty thousand only), undertaking to serve the Bank for a period of 3 years from the date of joining the Bank. They will also have to furnish one surety acceptable to the Bank in the specified proforma before joining the Bank on his/ her selection for rendering service for a minimum period of 3 years from the date of joining the Bank. FOR THE POST OF SEMI-SKILLED TRADESMEN I) The selection will be made purely on the basis of combined merit obtained by the candidate in Written Examination and Trade Test. The Selection process will comprise of: (a) Written Test of 100 Marks. The question papers of Written Test will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi. (b) Trade Test (Practical) of 100 Marks. The trade test will be conducted to test the skill of the candidates in their relevant trades. II) SYLLABUS FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION AND TRADE TEST: (a) WRITTEN EXAMINATION: The syllabus for the Written Test will be broadly as that of the NCVT Examination syllabus prescribed for the respective trade and as per the functional requirement of that trade. (b) TRADE TEST: The syllabus for Trade Test (Practical) will be as per Trade Test Specification of the Semi-Skilled grade of the relevant trade. (c) All eligible candidates will be called for an Objective type written test. On the basis of merit of Written Test marks, candidates will be called for Trade Test (Practical Test) of 100 Marks in the ratio of 1:3 to the number of vacancies in the respective trades. Final merit will be decided on the basis of combined marks in the Written and Trade Test (Practical Test). In the selection process, other things being equal i.e. marks being equal, trained Ex-Trade Apprentices of the recruiting Ordnance Factory and Sister Ordnance Factories shall be given preference in the order in which they are placed. In between the trained Ex-Trade Apprentices of the recruiting factory, preference shall be given to those who are senior i.e. if two or more Ex-Trade Apprentices secure the same marks then preference shall be given on the basis of seniority. Seniority of Ex-Trade Apprentices of the recruiting Ordnance Factory shall be decided on the basis of OFBs L/No. 13/08/ 03-A/HRD dated 15/17-12-2003. Similarly, in between the trained Ex- Trade Apprentices of the Sister Ordnance Factories, preference shall be given to those who are senior as mentioned above. In all other cases of tie, the selection will be decided on the basis of marks obtained in the Written Examination only. The ITI candidates and its equivalent Diploma/Certificate holders will be considered for selection only when NCTVT Certificate (i.e. NAC or NTC) holders are not available for the post. (d) Minimum Qualifying Standards for: UR candidates - 40% of the Total Marks SC, ST & OBC candidates - 35% of the Total Marks Physically Disabled Person & Ex-Serviceman - 30% of the Total Marks. After successful completion of training, the candidates shall be placed under probation for one year. EMOLUMENTS: The Management Trainees will be offered Basic Pay of Rs.20,600/- p.m. in the pay scale of Rs.20600-3%-46500 (E-1). On successful completion of training the Management Trainees will be designated as Junior Managers in the same scale of pay. Besides Basic Pay, the MTs will also be paid Dearness Allowance. They will also be entitled for other perquisites and benefits such as PF, Gratuity and other perks & allowances as per rules of the Company in vogue. The CTC would be around Rs. 7 lakhs p.a. In addition, Company provides benefits like Leave encashment, housing/HRA and free medical facility for self and dependents as per rules in vouge. An amount of Rs. 5000/- per month will be deducted from the total emoluments during the period of training and probation, as retention amount, on returnable basis on confirmation of service in the Company after successful completion of training and probation period (two years). Candidate has to approach the nearby SBI branch with a printout of the .pay-in-slip. which is available on the Application Registration Portal. The pay-in-slip printed from the Portal only should be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting of amount in the allocated account. On receipt of the money the concerned branch of SBI will issue a unique Journal Number and a Branch Code of the branch collecting the money. This Journal Number and the Branch Code are to be filled up by the candidate during online registration. In case a candidate deposits the fee in a wrong account, or doesn.t finally submit the application form with payment details, SAIL will not be responsible. There will not be any other mode of collection of registration fee. Also, please note that an amount of Rs.20/- will be paid by the candidate as Bank Charges to the collection branch of SBI in addition to the applicable registration/ processing fee. The SBI branches will accept the fee from 10.00 AM of the starting date to 5.00 PM of the closing date of submission of online application.
