elcome to New Hope Church, a place for new beginnings! If you are visiting, you will discover a loving, spirit-filled church family. Here is some helpful information as you join us in worship today: All who worship here are equals in the sight of God, regardless of race, age, gender, physical disability or religious affiliation. Communion, when celebrated, is open to all who profess Christ as Lord and Savior, whether affiliated with this church or not. Children may partake of Communion as well, if parents approve. A nursery is available during the service; please see a greeter for directions. (This is for infants and children up to 3 years of age.) Handicap-accessible restrooms are located off the narthex (foyer) and adjacent to the entrance lobby in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. Please remember to sign the attendance folder at your pew so we will have a record of your visit with us today. Thank you for remembering to silence your cell phone during the service. No food or beverages in the sanctuary, please. If you arrived as a visitor we hope that you leave as a friend and worship with us often! We also have enlisted the aid of a couple of students at Cumberland University to help us write a concise history of the church (they will get credit for the project), and we can always use more help. We will meet a couple of times a month, more often if necessary. Please see Robbie Haynes or anyone on the Bicentennial team if you would like to help us out. Church Van Ministry The Session has committed the church to purchase a used van, less than $18,000. On faith, the church will borrow the money to start, and a Van Fund has been established that you can donate to as the Lord leads. The van will have many uses including building the community of believers around our church. New Hope Food Pantry Please dont forget about the Food Pantry that is available for anyone in the community or church family who needs use of it. We need to get this food OUT and into the hands and homes of those who need it. Please see the pastor or Evelyn Price if you know of a need. Stephen Ministry is a program that selects and trains laypeople for Christian care giving. Stephen Ministers in our church are certified and trained to help people go through the many transitions and challenges in life. Our Stephen Ministers serve anyone in need, both within and outside the church. Call the church office if you are interested in receiving care through the Stephen Ministry program. Ministries/Activities Within Our Church

Sundays in May th Thursday, 13 National Day of Prayer th Sunday, 6 Holy Communion th Sunday 13 , Mothers Day. The men of the church, headed by Bobby Thompson, will prepare breakfast to honor our mothers. The entire church is invited to come. 9:00 AM. No Sunday School. Sunday 20th Senior Day. According to our records Sean Haynes is our only high school graduate this year. If there are others, please let the pastor know. th Sunday 27 Adam Jonathan Groves, son of Brittany Brown, and grandson of Bill and Kelly Brown, will be baptized. Thought for the Week

he Greek word for fellowship comes from a root meaning common or shared. Fellowship means common participation in something either by giving what you have to the other person or receiving what he or she has. Give and take is the essence of fellowship, and give and take must be the way of fellowship in the common life of the body of Christ. Christian fellowship is two-dimensional, and it has to be vertical before it can be horizontal. We must know the reality of fellowship with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ before we can know the reality of fellowship with each other in our common relationship to God (1 John 1:3). The person who is not in fellowship with the Father and the Son is no Christian at all, and so cannot share with Christians the realities of their fellowship.
