Promotion Announcements
The temperatures were predicted to plummet into the teens and lower 20s during the weekend of February 8th 10JD. There are 2 senior members and 2 cadets from GLR-KY-222 who are thankful that slightly warmer temperatures prevailed. Thursday, February 14, GLR-KY-222 proudly held our first promotions in our squadron. The following Senior Member received the following awards: SM Daniel Baxter received Yeager Ribbon 2Lt. Patricia BaxterMoore, SM Amy Motchnik, C/MSgt Danielle BaxterMoore and C/AIC Devon Vono ventured out to the Red River Gorge in Daniel Boone National Forest in Slade, KY. During this KY Wing SAREX, there were several sorties including ground and air-to-ground teams searching to locate downed aircraft as well as missing persons. Members from our squadron were able to work on several SQTRs such as Ground Team 3, and Mission Radio Operator. 2Lt. Patricia BaxterMoore received Benjamin O. Davis Award 2Lt. 2008 Encampment
Mark your calendars 2008 encampment is June 21IJ 28JD. This year our cadets will be attending the West Virginia Wing Encampment. The week will be spent at Camp Dawson near Morgantown, WV. Camp Dawson is a National Guard and Army Special Forces Training Center. The cost for this encampment is $75. Check out the encampment website: http://www.wvwg.cap.gov/encampment.htm There are many opportunities for cadets within the national and regional CAP organization. In addition to the WV Encampment, there is also an IL/IN Encampment scheduled this summer for July 19JD July 26JD in Marseilles, IL. For information, contact Lt.
