Time to Turn a Page

By John Lepper A recent USA Today headline said: Encyclopedia Britannica Turns a Page, Ends Print Edition. Britannica has printed encyclopedias for 244 years and now the company says it will no longer publish a print edition. Publishing on paper no longer makes sense, says Britannica. The publisher pointed out that we live in an increasingly digital world and that their online encyclopedia provides a greater value. The online version is much larger AND it is updated every 20 minutes. For the same reasons, KBF is getting ready to turn a page regarding how we communicate with you. Were moving away from print newsletters toward digital newsletters and information. We hope you will begin to get your KBF news via email and our website. May 2012 marks our last print newsletter. I hasten to say we will send three or four special newsletter-type mailings each year. We will continue sending the weekly email: Three Things You Need to Know. We will send a monthly e-newsletter via email and it will also be posted on our website. We intend to produce a print newsletter featuring the Spring Gathering and Extreme Build each March. Well send another print newsletter sometime during August as a summer wrap up. We may also send something like an annual report during November, as well as a mailing regarding the missions emphasis. Help us spread the word by encouraging others to share their email addresses with us. We have over 3,000 postal addresses and less than 1,000 email addresses. Our desire is to communicate with KBF folks in efficient and economical ways. I am personally concerned that we make a good transition from print to digital and that we not lose anybody! Your help in obtaining email addresses is welcomed and encouraged.

Her husband has a new job that will enable her to stay home with her two children, Randi and Callie. On May 9 we say hello to Valarie Shoulta as Administrative Assistant. Valarie returns to this position after an absence of about two years. She and her husband, Jeremy, have returned to Kentucky. They live in Mt. Online Giving
Making donations via the Internet is not a new concept. Many Americans pay bills online or have mortgages automatically deducted from the bank account. Online giving is easy, it's convenient, and it's safe.
