Patrol Think Sheet Screen Shot & Images

Above: Truncated screen shot from Google Doc I created to collaborate with AP, P, and SIT Team; Boulden (comment on right) is the schools Assistant Principal. The Principal, the AP and myself used Google Docs to collaborate. With feedback from grade level chairs (and their recommendations as noted above), we inducted the Belmont Elementary Schools first ever Safety Patrol Squad. The Safety Patrol distributed leadership on several levels: 1. Admin + School Improvement Team: After analyzing data from a recent Student Survey, the decision was made by members of the School Improvement Team to start a Safety Patrol. 2. Teachers : After reading the plan, I planned the logistics with the help of the AP. In the plan, teachers were empowered to nominate students whom they thought fit the requirements. They were also encouraged to add to the requirements (within reason). Students applied and shared their voice in their applications. 3. Instructional Assistants: Took pictures and prepared a PPT and email to announce the SP to the school. Teaches shared the PPT during homeroom. 4. School Crossing Guard: The schools crossing guard gladly welcomed the opportunity to lead by training the members of the Safety Patrol Squad. She also assisted with paperwork . 5. Students: Once inducted, the final SP squad stated that they felt proud to serve their school and that they tool responsibilities seriously. Images follow:
