Instructional leaders can use this website resource to apply current and effective ESOL teaching methodologies in planning and delivering instructions because this site shows us the features of the content based ESOL for all K-12 students in the public school system in the state of Florida. There is a section in this site where it talks about each districts individual ELL plan. This allows the instructional leader to design and implement effective unit plans and daily lessons which meets the needs of ESOL students within the context of the regular classroom. This website also offers information on the college career readiness advice for parents and students. Through this information, the instructional leader will be able to develop, implement, and evaluate the instructional program which can help families make informed decisions about higher education. The site also provides the instructional leader to apply content based ESOL approach to instruction through the CELLA testing that is thoroughly discussed on the website. At the Bureau of student achievement through language acquisition website, the instructional leader can find the requirements necessary for the entrance and exit tests for our students. Lastly, the site provides a template of what the ELL students individualized plan looks like. This allows for the instructional leader to analyze the students language and determine appropriate instructional strategies in order for the student to meet his/her goals.

This book is an excellent resource for instructional leaders when applying current and effective ESOL teaching methodologies in planning and delivering instruction to ELL students due to the fact that the book shows a step by step approach from the first day of school up to assessments throughout the school year. This resource also allows instructional leaders to design and implement effective unit plans and daily lesson plans though some of the engaging hands on activities that the book provides. An instructional leader can also develop, implement, and evaluate instructional programs in ESOL by using this resource especially through the Helping ESL learners in the content area section. This resource allows instructional leaders to apply content-based ESOL approach to instruction from the section that I just previously mentioned and also from a section in the book titled teaching reading to your newcomers. The book also considers current trends and issues related to the testing of linguistic and culturally diverse s students when using testing instruments and techniques. This is evident in the Testing, report cards, and parent conferences section as well as the District Policies and practices that help ESL learners section. Finally, this resource is effective for instructional leaders when analyzing student language and determining appropriate instructional strategies, using knowledge of phonology, morphology, syntax semantics, and discourse. This can be found in the numerous reproducible activities that are included in the text. Some of these activities includes a letter match, color words, labeling, comprehension questions and some word analysis.

The Consent Decree is the state of Floridas framework in order to give our ELL students the proper education that they deserve. This website goes over all the important information that makes up the Consent Decree. The site is divided into 6 sections as these are the steps necessary to give our ELL students the proper instruction. The six sections are: identification and assessment, equal access to appropriate programming, equal access to appropriate categorical and other programs for ELL students, personnel, monitoring issues, and finally outcome measures. An instructional leader can apply current effective ESOL methodologies in planning and delivering instruction to our ELL student using this site since under the section equal access to appropriate programming, the instructional leader can find content based ESOL approach. This site is effective for designing and implementing effective unit plans and daily lesson plans because it emphasizes on the importance of the curriculum for all ESOL levels. An instructional leader can develop, implement, and evaluate instructional programs using this resource because it goes over the different accommodations and support that our ELL students need. Applying content based ESOL approach to instruction can be encouraged by the instructional leader by going over the difference between the ESOL standards and the Language Arts curriculum. When instructional leader have strong understanding of both, he/she can help clarify misconceptions that teachers might have. Finding an assessment that is necessary for our ELL students by introducing the CELLA and the SALA information is provided in this site as well. This way, the instructional leader can be up to date on the current trends and issues that is related to the testing of linguistic and culturally diverse students. This site also provides information on the process of language acquisition. This is why the sections are important to abide by since this will not allow for gaps to occur with our students. Being comfortable with this information helps the instructional leader to analyze student language and determine the appropriate instructional strategies, using knowledge of phonology, morphology, syntax semantics, and discourse.

The ESL Resource Center is a wonderful resource for instructional leaders, teachers, parents and students. This is a site packed with so much information. An instructional leader can apply current and effective ESOL teaching methodologies in planning and delivering instruction to our ELL students using this site because there are activities in this site that encourages language experience approach lessons. An instructional leader can also use this information found on this site to design and implement effective unit plans and daily lessons which meets the needs of our ESOL students within the context of the regular classroom. An example would be the whole array of resources found on the different subject areas and topics so teachers can develop the appropriate lessons for the students. An instructional leader who is developing, implementing and evaluating instructional programs in ESOL can use this resource to help provide teachers with the knowledge on classroom management that is suitable in an ESOL classroom. Applying content based ESOL approach to the instruction can be found through this site as well. There are many lesson plans found in teaching content area reading to our ELL students. One of the interesting topics I found in this site is on how instructional leaders consider current trends and issues related to the testing. There is a section in this resource where it talks about assessment for teachers on how well they evaluate themselves as an ELL teacher and what their goals and plans are for improvement. An instructional leader can use this site to analyze student language and determine appropriate instructional strategies, using knowledge of phonology, morphology, syntax semantics, and discourse. He/she can show the teachers and support staff all the activities and resources in building students phonics skills, vocabulary, grammar, etc. One of these activities is called build your own lexicon activity. Here the students get to research his/her own vocabulary word and learn dictionary skills as well.

Lesson plans are available for teachers to get ideas with downloadable activities. Instructional leaders develop, implement, and evaluate instructional programs in ELL, based on current trends in research and practice. This resource allows instructional leaders to do this by getting the teachers and support staff to get comfortable with the lessons. As the teachers and support staff becomes accustomed to the site, then instructional leaders can examine the effectiveness through walk through and analyzing the data to see if theres student growth. There is also a quick tip section which addresses the issues related to testing. This website is fun and engaging for all students eager to learn a new language or just to support a language program. Unfortunately, the program needs a subscription in order to get the full version. This resource can help instructional leaders apply current and effective ESOL teaching methodologies in planning and delivering instruction to ELL students. This can be attained through the application of ESOL approaches such as the use of visuals, interactive games and stories. The instructional leader can use this information to design and implement effective unit plans and daily lessons since the ESOL activities offers cultural and linguistic activities. The instructional leader can develop, implement and evaluate the instructional program because the resource provides individual, small group and whole group activities. The instructional leader can also apply content based ESOL approaches to instruction using this resource by the content specific vocabulary activities that engages the students. The instructional leader can use this resource to apply current and effective ESOL teaching methodologies in planning and delivering instruction to ELL students. This can be done through the procedures and steps that the site offers. The instructional leader can also use this resource to design and implement effective unit plans and daily lesson plans which meet the needs of the ELL students. The different professional developments that the site offers can assist in developing the curriculums based on the state the ELL students live in. The instructional leader can develop, implement, and evaluate the instructional program in ESOL through this site by the newest research that the site publishes on a regular basis. I was just reading an article that came out from the site titled Title III accountability and outcomes for K-12 for ELL students. This is just one of the hundreds of resources that can drive instruction. An instructional leader can use this resource to apply content based ESOL approach to instruction. This can be done through the awareness that one can get from the ELL standards that are specific to all 50 states. This resource can also help instructional leaders to consider current trends and issues related to the testing of the linguistic and culturally diverse students when using testing instruments and techniques. This is seen in the standards and assessment section where it talks about the resources on content area assessments. It also shows the TPR and how it can look in the classroom. This resource also allows instructional leaders to design and implement effective unit plans and daily lesson plans which meet the needs of the ESOL students within the context of the regular classroom. There is a section that goes in depth with the immersion and the pull out program. Instructional leaders can also develop, implement, and evaluate instructional programs in ESOL, based on current trends in research and practice. This can be seen in the accommodations section. The instructional leader can also apply content-based ESOL approach to instruction by showing the ELL standards and the districts ELL plan. An instructional leader considers current trends and issues related to the testing of linguistic and culturally diverse students when using testing instruments and techniques. This websites supports this through the information that they provide on the different entrance and exit tests that the ELL students partake in. The website also allows students links that they can go on and practice phonics skills, fluency skills and vocabulary skills that will help them succeed.
