Introduction

a.) Background of the Research

Electronics digital computer emerged in the 1940s and have since entered most field of human activity as tool for the storage and processing of information. A computer is a tool used by human in problem-solving processes rather than a problem-solver itself. Computers extend capabilities due to the following attribute speed of operation, memory capacity, reliability and cost effectiveness in many applications. The computer revolution is changing every aspect of society including the way we meet and interact with one another.Today, computers are for everyone. We are in the midst of a technological revolution that is changing the way of life. Computer made a great impact to the society. Few technological innovations have changed human lives as much as computer has. It changed more aspects of life than any other inventions. The corner stone of this revolution, the computer, is transforming the way of communication do business and learn.

b. ) Statement of the problem:

Society is now experiencing a similar development. An increasing number of occupations requires computer knowledge. This study aims to determine the importance of computer to human activities. Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:

a. What are the advantages and disadvantages of computer b. What are the impacts of computer to society

c.) Importance of the study:

Human beings desire to know about their world that lead them from primitive superstition to modern scientific knowledge. From mysticism, dogma and the limitations of unsystematic observation based upon personal experiences, they have examined the process of thinking itself to develop the method. This study aims to determine the essence of computer to individual who is continuously searching for answers about the benefits of technologies (esp. computers) to human and to institutions who provide conducive learning system for students. Essentially, this study will serve as benchmark information on the investigation of the impact of computer to society. Moreover, the study aims to point out some facts that will help them arrive of the product that is both beneficial to the researchers and the readers.

II. Research Body:

The study used the interview-survey research method. The method was considered to be one of the most dependable indices to determine the result of a research. The researchers search for 25 respondents consisting of students, teachers and simple individuals and ask some questions similar to one another. Enclose in the questionnaire is a short profile of the respondents. Presented on this table are the main purposes of the respondents in using computer:

Based on the table, the following data were gathered: 1. Majority of the respondents used computer for educational purposes. They used computer for: a. researches b. used as reference c.encoding of grades and test questions

d. important for the application of their course 2. Other respondents used computer for some specific purposes such as: a. Finding jobs b.means of communication to relatives abroad c.becoming updated of some current issues d.as a means of relaxation Another questions enclosed in the questionnaire are the respondents point of view about the effects of computer to their: behavior and thinking capacity and the disadvantages of using computer. The following data were again collected by the researchers:

a. Computer disadvantages: - People tend to be computer-addicted - Over-exposure to computer may harm our health - People became lazy - can cause widespread access to those abhorrent things such as pornography and cybersex - influences the mind of children/student in playing computer games during class hour - can cause serious and disturbing consequences in our life

b. Effects of computer to: 1. Behavior - People tend to be self-centered and aggressive

- People are becoming computer-dependent - People are grasping negative behavior by imitating behavior from different computer sites 2. Thinking capacity - People are enhanced and able to get the latest happenings - Computer can corrupts thinking capacity - Computer helps broaden ones knowledge - People will be able to gain great facts and information that will greatly benefits individuals thinking capacity

III. Summary and Conclusion:

a.) Summary:

This study determined the effects of computer to human activities. The study was conducted from March 10-13,2012. Specifically, the study tested if what are the advantages and disadvantages of using computer, and its impact to the society. The standard procedure used in this research gave some information about the topic and it is used to determine different significance of computer.

b.) Conclusion:

Within the limits of this study and in view of the foregoing findings, the following conclusions were drawn:

Computers have become such an important part of our lives. Society is gradually

accepting the fact that computers will indeed change the manners in which the things are done. It can substantially save valuable man hours by keeping people through communication and generally provide for more efficient services.

2.

With appropriate computer usage and quality of life applications, people will be

able to effectively tackle some unique problems. The entire society will undergo a transformation and what would emerge is a society that is more intellectually aware and which values its time and intellect. 3. Computer may be considered as a friend or a foe depending on the computer user.

As long as people know that this helps a lot, good, but if it will lead you to bad influence, then be a keen-observer.
