THE COURSES
The course is an outcome of practical and validated model implemented by ICECD over the last 25 years in India and many developing countries. It has evolved innovative and result oriented approaches and tools for empowering NGOs. The one year PG Diploma in NGO Management (NGOM) course is an innovative initiative focusing on preparing new generation leaders for creating/managing NGOs professionally. Managing rural development is not a new activity. What is perhaps new is treating the management processes for rural development as a field for systematic research and development to create a DIFFERENCE. The PG Diploma in Rural Development Management (RDM) course aims to create and strengthen the skills and competencies in managing the rural development programs. The PG Diploma in Enterprise Management and Entrepreneurship (Family and Own) (EME) course trains management professionals to play a key role in their organization's strategic management and in strengthening relationships within the enterprise and with stakeholders and public, in congruence to the business management policies. Targeting individuals wanting to associate with or start a micro/small/medium enterprises with investment ranging from 25 lakhs to 2 crore and above.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
Develop knowledge and skills required for a well managed, people oriented Non-government organization and facilitate NGOs to contribute effectively in the social, economic and political empowerment of the underprivileged. Development of a cadre of sensitized professionals for institutions (NGOs / GOs / Banks / etc.) skilled in assessing needs, conceptualizing, implementing and managing rural development, to achieve economic, social and political empowerment. develop fast-track entrepreneurs as leaders and catalysts in various industry segments, equipping To them with global perspective and contemporary knowledge in business and management.

SPECIALIZATION AND FOCUS AREAS


The NGO Management course specializes in concepts, theories, practices and international experiences of NGOs comprehensively focusing on the role of NGOs, Development components of NGOs, NGO Project Management and Development, Organizational Capacity Building and Human Resources Development, Sustainability, Growth, Change and Development. The Rural Development Management course is structured to aquire understanding of rural and gender development for immediate practical applications. It would also acquaint students with planning, implementing and monitoring developmental initiatives covering Integrated Rural Development, Rural Economic Development Management, Social Development Management, Human Resource Management and Development Management. The Enterprise Management and Entrepreneurship (For Own and Family Enterprises) course provides specialization and unique opportunities to start own business/enterprises or to expand/diversify existing/family businesses. The inputs would empower students to deal with intricacies of current industrial scenario, and develop their ideas into growth oriented business covering Integrated SME Management, Strategic Marketing and Communication, Leadership in Family Business Management, Corporate Venturing and Management for SMEs and Managing Growth.

METHODOLOGY
ICECD Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (IIME) emphasizes on experiential learning. The Andragogy comprises interactive lectures, case-base teaching, experience sharing by development professionals, simulation exercises, project based workshops, organizational visits and field work. Students are exposed to various facets of Social, Economic & Political Development Process. The soft skills such as; team building, motivation, positive thinking and effective communication are integral part of curriculum.

EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
Dissertation Students will undergo organizational internships (Dissertation) of a period of 6 weeks. The internship course focuses on many latent attributes, which do not surface in the normal classroom situations. These attributes are intellectual ability, professional judgment, decision making ability, inter-disciplinary approach, skills for data handling, ability in written and oral presentation and sense of responsibility, etc. Students will get an opportunity to use all these abilities during internship. Field Visits Field interaction is arranged to acquaint the students with grassroots realities of development programmes and projects. Here, students get an opportunity for independent assessment of programmes / projects and their processes. Project Report Preparation As development organization are venturing into business, students knowledge on all aspects of commercial and social business is essential. While developing project reports, students learn application of tools, techniques and preparation of bankable project reports. Students are attached to faculty members for seeking necessary guidance on continuous basis.

INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE
With the technological and communicational revolution the world has become smaller. Education remains incomplete unless a global perspective is attached to it. It has become imperative for students to broaden their vision on the global map at an early stage. After the completion of the one-year Diploma Courses, ICECD offers 6 weeks internship (optional) with an organization/company in any of the Asian/African countries. This internship will prove to be an important avenue for students to get hands on experience of practical work, while developing a global perspective.

The faculty is an ideal mix of regular and visiting faculty with high academic credentials, field experience and international exposure. The distinctive research and project consultancy offered by faculty members ensures that the PGDM offers contents which are contemporary and global in perspective. Eminent entrepreneurs, domain experts and professionals visit the campus to teach and share their experiences.

WHO CAN JOIN


Graduates who wish to: Start their own NGO or work in International Development and Funding Organizations, NGOs in India and other countries. Work in development projects and programs in Central and State Government. Become a rural development management professional. Work as Development Resource Person, Trainer, Facilitator and Decision Maker with NGOs, Government Departments or the corporate sector. Launch small and medium industry/business or manage family owned business or wish to expand/diversify. Undertake research, monitoring and teaching profession.

ELIGIBILITY & ADMISSION PROCEDURE


The candidate must hold a Bachelors Degree awarded by any of the university in India or other educational institute established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as university under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by Government of India. Students appearing for final year degree examination, at the time of application, can also apply. Due consideration is given to candidates belonging to the weaker sections, Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribes (ST) and differently abled categories of students. The admission process consists of entrance examination and personal interview. Scores of competitive exams like CAT, CET, MAT and GCET etc. will be given due consideration. The candidates can apply online on the site www.icecd.org/iime or download the form and send it to IIME, ICECD Campus, E-1/41, Sterling City, Bopal, Ahmedabad 58 along with a DD of Rs. 150/- in favor of ICECD, Ahmedabad. The institute reserves the right to select candidate on the basis of its own written test and personal interview.

FEE STRUCTURE
The fees for the one year-full time program for each course which includes cost of tuition, reading material, library and computer facility and field visit is Rs. 78000/-. It includes caution money deposit of Rs. 3,000/- which will be refunded on successful completion of the course. The fees will be payable in two instalments over a period of one year.

? Expense for foreign visits (if any) will be charged on actual basis. ? Laptops can be arranged by the institute on additional payment on actual basis.

FELLOWSHIP TO FIRST 20 STUDENTS


IIME will offer fellowship to the first 20 students amounting to Rs. 15000/- each. The fellowship will be available from IIME's resources. Fellowship support is on actual fees and not on the hostel charges. The students have to pay Rs. 60000/- as fees.

CERTIFICATE
Students on successful completion of the course will be awarded certificate Post Graduate Diploma in Management (for NGOM, RDM or EME) by ICECD, institute recognized by Gujarat University.

PLACEMENT
The campus placement program has witnessed encouraging response from various national and international development organizations and corporates. The past students of IIME comprise of youth from all over the country (Rajasthan, Orissa, Bihar, Gujarat, UP) as well as countries like Nigeria and Ethiopia. Today they are well on their way to fulfill their mission having been placed with prestigious National and International Development Organizations, Governments Organizations, Corporate houses, and NGOs, while some have started their own enterprises.
