SEMESTER-I
CUBES AND LIGHTS THE EXERCISE WAS TO USE CUBE IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT CREATED A UNIQU E PATTERN REGARDING BOTH FORM A N D L I G H T. CUT OUTS WERE MADE IN THE CUBE TO CREATE INTERESTING LIGHT PATTERNS INSIDE THE CUBE.THIS HELDED US TO K N O W T H A T H O W T H E O P E N I N G S P R O V ID E L I G H T A N D W H I C H T Y P E O F O P E N I NG WOULD BEST SUIT FOR THE LIGHT TO E N T E R. Lines and Dots

SEMESTER - II
ARCHITECT'S HOUSE & LINES AND DOTS

In this studio we had to make a co mposition using three lines and thr ee dots giving them height to form a 3D model and hence creating inte r e s t i n g s p a c e s. 3 D s k e t c h e s f u r t h e r helped in identifying scale of the c o m p os i t i o n.

The exercise was to design a A r c h i t e c t' s H o u s e w i t h a s t u d i o. B e d r o o m , k i t c h e n, a n d b a t h r o o m was the minimum requirement to b e f u l f i l l e d.

CLIMATE STUDIO SITE CLIMATE Delhi Composite Climate

The program was given to design a Guest House in Delhi with necessary amenities a c c o r d i n g t o C o m p o s i t e C l i m a t e. T h e c l i m a t e o f D e l h i i s a m o n s o o n i n f l u e nced humid subtropical climate with high v a r i a t i o n b e t w e e n s u m m e r a n d w i n t e r t e mp e r a t u r e s a n d p r e c i p i t a t i o n. The Wind Towers were used, an effective and natural way for cooling inner spaces o f t h e b u i l d i n g. Jalis are provided in the South side of the b u i l d i n g.

Training Centre SEMESTER-V

CAMPUS STUDIO In this studio we had to design a Public W o r k s D e p a r t m e n t ( P W D ) C a m p u s. The site was located in Borsad , a town near Anand district of Gujarat. Keeping in mind that people coming to the campus would be mostly from the t o w n , a i r y a n d o p e n s i t o u t s w e r e p r o v i de d i n n e c e s s a r y p l a c e s i n t h e c a m p u s.

T h e m a i n b u i l d i n g c o n s i s t o f t w o d e p a r tm e n t s R o a d a n d I n f r a s t r u c t u r e D e p a r t me n t , a n d I r r i g a t i o n D e p a r t m e n t. A Training Centre is provided for the trainees,and new employees. A Warehouse is provided to store the materials and equipments used for the c o n s t r u c t i o n p u r p o s e. Provision for Housing for staff and clerks working in the campus was also d o n e.

MARKET YARD

Plan

In this exercise we had to redesign a market y a r d f o r f r u i t s a n d v e g e t a b l e s. The site was in Piplag village in Nadiad distri c t o f G u j a r a t. The former market yard had many design and p l a n n i n g d e f i c i e n ci e s, a n d l o t o f s p a c e w a s w a s t e d i n t h e i n n e r s p a c e o f t h e m a r k e t y a r d. N o n-c o n v e c t i o n a l m a t e r i a l s a n d t e c h n o l o g i e s w e r e t o b e u s e d f o r t h e d e s i g n i n g o f a s h o p.
