Aims and Objectives You are required to show knowledge of one major incident in which the fire service has been involved When detailing the accident you must assess the causes of the accident, the occurrences that happened, the changes that have occurred since, changes in legislation, and lessons learned fro the event How the assessment will take place? You are again working in the role of chief fire service lecturer; during your career you were involved in a major disaster. You have been asked to create a presentation to inform possible new recruits to the fire service on your experiences of this major disaster. The presentation must be at least ten minutes long using the PowerPoint format If possible include video footage and pictures to describe the event Handouts and worksheets can also be used Questions to answer 1. What happened and when 2. Why did this happen 3. How did the fire service respond 4. What changes have been made to prevent this doesnt happen in the future Examples of possible disasters could include 1. The Hillsborough disaster 2. The Aberfan disaster 3. The Lockerbie air crash 4. Any major fire of your choice 5. Road traffic accident of your choice
