Assessment Objective 4 Task Four A

Aims and Objectives To gain a greater understanding of three major incidents in which the fire service have been relied upon To gain an understanding of the equipment, call out time, mobilization, number of officers and stories from people involved in the accident You must also be able to show you can assess the effectiveness of the fire services intervention strategies in response to the accident How will the assessment take place? You will be required to write a report on three contrasting accidents and how the fire service responded to them You will be given three case studies and a pro forma to complete for each You must comment on the equipment used by the fire service in each instance, the number of fire fighters used, how long did it take for them to become mobilized, the scale of the accident, how many people did they help, the financial implications how much damage was caused by each accident The more detail you can include on each of the famous incidences the better What are the three accidents? 1. The flooding of most of Gloucestershire in the summer of 2007 2. The September 11th Disasters at the twin towers in New York 3. Australian wildfires of January 2006 Information on all three incidents can be found on the internet and through various journals. As mush detail as possible is required including comments of people at the scene.
