interventions in the areas of Soil & Water Conservation Engineering, Water Resources
Management and land based livelihoods support systems & translate the research experience

I. EXPERIENCE PROFILE

 Worked in Plastro Irrigation Systems Limited, Pune as a Trainee Engineer in Micro-


Irrigation division from December 1998 till February 1999

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Conduct survey on site selection, Design & Cost estimate and Install several forms of
Micro- Irrigation systems- Drip, Sprinkler, Fogger, Mister, etc.

II. EXPERIENCE PROFILE

Associated with KRIBHCO Indo-British Rainfed Farming Project (DFID, UK funded), a


Sustainable Livelihood development Project through Farming Systems approach as
Irrigation Engineer from March 1999 till March 2000.

Associated with Eastern India Rainfed Farming Project (DFID, UK funded) in Gramin Vikas
Trust, Ranchi a premiere NGO as Irrigation Engineer since April 2000 till February 2003

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 Initiate Planning Process and Prepare Design, Cost Estimation and Execute construction
of several types of Soil and Water Conservation measures and Water Harvesting
Structures

 Facilitate effecting in participatory planning of different measures effecting Soil and


Water Conservation and Water resources management as well as Income Generation
Programmes by actively involving grass root beneficiaries

 Promote holistic development of rural community through integration of Natural


resources management & Human Resources Development based on Integrated
Watershed Management concept

Project Officer since Feb. 2003 till Jan 2005

Institutional strengthening & Institutional Support to WUAs of 4 Minor Irrigation schemes in

(Funded by MoRD, GoI) for Keonjhar & Sambalpur districts of Orissa

of several national programmes sponsored by the Government of India

India) based at Orissa Watershed Development Mission (GoO), Bhubaneswar from May 2005
till date

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 Facilitate formulation as well as implementation of overall NRM strategies (Soil & water
conservation, Cropping Systems, Common Property Resources Management and NTFP aspects) to
achieve the broad objectives of the project

 Guidance and backstopping to project staff on devising and implementing activities


targeted towards project’s goal of sustainable rural livelihoods through environmentally
sound & equitable land based interventions

 Assess the training and capacity building needs of both Primary and Secondary
stakeholders of the project and facilitate building skills through various CB events

 Technical as well as managerial support to district teams for smooth implementation of


the project activities

Management & Site selection , Design of various soil & water conservation measures on
invitation from Institute on Management of Agricultural Extension (IMAGE),

& capacity building of stakeholders in the field Agriculture & NRM. This is apart from
many other training imparted to various stakeholders on planning, implementing and
monitoring of NRM activities as part of prime job responsibilities
