Bourgault is continuing to offer new, industry-leading technology to make the large, modern farmer more efficient and productive than ever before. The new 3320 provides a good example of Bourgaults development efforts. The 3320 PHD offers the most advanced seed placement technology in the industry. It is available in three models: 1) 3320QDA, 2) 3320XTC and 3) 3320SE. The 3320, equipped with the QDA (Quick Depth Adjust) feature, allows you to adjust the

seeding depth in a few minutes, rather than taking up close to an hour, which is typically the case with a large, independent opener air hoe drill.
Because of the unique geometry found on the 3320QDA, rather than adjusting the setting of each seed opener to change the seeding depth, changes are made to the frame height, which in turn adjusts the seeding depth. On the 3320QDA, changing seeding depth takes you only 3 or 4 minutes instead of 50 minutes, which is generally the case on a 75-foot independent opener drill. If it takes 50 minutes to change seeding depth to be able to see whether or not a different depth is better and only 3 hours for you to seed the entire field, because of the constant urgency to complete seeding, often depth changes are not made if you are unsure whether or not a depth change would indeed improve seed placement. If the seeding depth change is made, and you subsequently determine that it produces less than ideal placement, now the depth has to be reset back to the original setting, which takes another 50 minutes. In that time, you could have seeded more than 80 acres! However, if the seeding depth is too great, time-to-emergence increases and plant stands are generally reduced. If the seeding depth is too shallow, some of the plants may become stranded in dry soil, which can cause major problems with low plant numbers, timeto-maturity, weeds and ultimately, yield. The bottom line is that over the long run, compromises to seed placement will cost you money; in some years, a lot of money. The
technology developed for the 3320QDA allows you to avoid having to make seeding depth compromises along with providing the most precise seed placement in the industry. Additionally, all 3320s feature hydraulically adjustable packing pressure, which is likely the second most important factor for obtaining proper emergence. Over the long run, the technology found on the 3320QDA will increase yields, crop quality and reduce time-to-maturity providing you with best available bottom line. The 3320XTC (eXtra Terrain Contouring) features enhanced contouring capabilities where terrain changes are sharp and numerous. If many of your fields include countless sharp hills and draws, the 3320XTC may be the answer. Although the 3320XTC does not allow seeding depth changes to be made by changing the frame height, as does the 3320QDA, its spring loaded depth adjustment system makes setting the seeding depth very easy and convenient. When it comes to independent disk coulter drill technology, Bourgault offers the 3710 with its patented walking axle coulter arm technology. The 3710 provides unprecedented and unmatched seed placement capabilities. When compared to a conventional, fixed location gauge wheel design, the walking axle design averages out localized
surface variations to reduce the number of seeds that are deposited above and below the optimum seeding depth. Most simply stated, when you have more seeds deposited at the optimum depth, your chances of maximizing yields increase. Bourgault has also released the 7950 Air Seeder cart with 950 bushels of total tank capacity. Besides being large, this unit is equipped with the latest innovations in air seeder cart technology. Many farmers with competitors seeding systems are forced to deal with residue bunching and plugging, and the inevitable uneven crop emergence that results. There has been some who promote seeding with side-banding systems such as dual-knife or double-shoot openers on 12" rows or greater. Producers must be aware that side-band openers used on wider row spacings endanger the seedbed with excessive soil disturbance, reduced seedbed utilization, and increased risk of fertilizer damage, especially when used with variable rate control.
As with the original, the Series 3320 PHD offers outstanding residue clearance in managed field residue. Features such as a seed-only opener on each shank, edge-on shank design, and residue cutting MRB coulters provide excellent trash flow in challenging conditions without having to compromise seedbed utilization for a wider row spacing. The success of operating at optimal row spacings is proven by the fact that over 90% of the industry leading 3310 PHD seeding systems were purchased with 10" seed spacing.

REDUCED HYDRAULIC FLOW PACKER OPTIONS FOR THE 3320 PHD
You have full electricover-hydraulic control of packing & opener force from the seat of your tractor. Set packing force at a low 70 lb up to over 200 lb of force. One click of the pressure control toggle will adjust system pressure by 50 psi, which translates into about 3.5 lb of packing force for the 3320XTC, and about 5 lb of packing force for the 3320QDA and 3320SE. The hydraulic configuration on the 3320 PHD efficiently utilizes the tractors hydraulic system, resulting in minimal flow during the seeding operation. New for the 3320 PHD is the incorporation of a 1-" diameter hydraulic cylinder on both variations of seed openers. These cylinders are " diameter smaller than found on the 3310 PHD, and will reduce hydraulic requirements by up to 40%. This leads to improved lift times in the headlands.

For every inch that the packer wheel moves, the seed opener will move " (refer to page 7). This feature dampens opener movement, providing consistent seeding depth even when seeding at an angle to last years furrows, or through aggressive field residue such as corn stalks. The forgiveness of the 2-to-1 also provides greater opener stability at higher seeding speeds and delivers better seed placement if there is mud build-up on the packer tires as compared to competitive independent seeding units. With the PHD Seed Opener Assembly, you can push the seeding envelope and still achieve consistent seed placement results.

The PHD Seed Opener Assembly, in combination with the heavy construction of the 3320 frame, delivers excellent soil penetration force when required. As harder areas of a field, such as sprayer or combine tracks are encountered, the PHD trailing arm design maintains very consistent opener penetration, and packer wheel force. This greatly minimizes the need for on-the-go packer adjustment for localized areas of compaction.
Dont beat your equipment (or your back) up! The Bourgault 3320 PHD provides the best field finish in the independent depth hoe drill market. A smoother field finish means less bouncing in the sprayer, or the combine, and allows you to get every bushel of short or lodged crops more easily.

The 3320QDA frame is hydraulically adjusted. Its adjusted position is maintained with a shim assembly. Hydraulic/shim assemblies are located on both the QDA's front caster wheels and rear carrier wheels.
Independent Hoe Drill Openers can maintain a seeding depth independently of the frame, but the operator must adjust every opener when changing seeding depth. Air Hoe Drill The producer needs only to adjust the frame height to set seeding depth, but each opener is fixed across the frame. The Bourgault 3320QDA The 3320QDA offers the best of both worlds. You have the precise seed placement of an independent system, along with an effective range of quick depth adjustment previously found only with solid frame hoe drills.

Every farmer knows that achieving the right seeding depth for the given crop and current conditions is critical for optimal germination. The hassle of setting an independent depth seed drill encourages producers to find a close-enough seeding depth that is an average of the actual required seeding depth. Bourgault recognized this trend as a detriment to the producer's bottom line, and endeavored to offer a better solution. The result is the 3320QDA, the only independent hoe drill with convenient and effective seed depth setting.

HOW IS QUICK DEPTH ADJUST POSSIBLE? This feature is made possible by the 2-to-1 contouring ratio of the PHD Seed Opener Assembly. A change in frame height will produce a change of half as much in seeding depth (refer to page 7). To capitalize on this, the 3320QDA is equipped with a hydraulic cylinder and shim assembly on each front caster wheel and rear carrier wheel. To set the seed depth at the frame, these cylinders are extended to lift the frame, and shims are slid in or out of position. Once the shims are set, the cylinders are retracted back into operational position. The 3320QDA provides ten shims, each shim equals 1/8" of seed depth adjustment for 1-" of total quick depth change range. Seeding depth can still be set on the PHD Seed Opener Assembly to achieve the optimal location for best use of the quick depth range, and for adjustment of individual openers that operate in wheel tracks.

BEST OF BOTH WORLDS Frame height adjustments will affect the operational depth of the MRBIIIs by a factor of two in comparison to the seed openers, as they are fixed stationary to the frame of the 3320QDA. A " change of seeding depth for the opener will produce a " depth change for the MRBs. Change in depth for the MRBs is typically not as critical as with seed openers, but should still be realized by the operator. The convenience and efficiency of seed depth setting with the 3320QDA provides farmers an option to help them better achieve the critical job of setting the required seed depth for the given conditions. The 3320QDA truly provides the best of both worlds, the only independent hoe drill with quick depth adjustment.

Strong, well-designed cast components resist bending and breaking, even when conditions are tough. You dont have to worry about bent seed arms not tracking.
The 1:1 contour ratio of the XTC Opener Assembly is designed to deliver excellent contouring characteristics as the full parallel linkage allows the XTC opener to follow the field independent of the frame (refer to page 7). The packer wheel and seed opener travel in unison for precise results and if the frame wheels sink, in soft soils, the depth will not be affected. The contour ratio is not the only aspect of a highly contour-able seed drill. The distance between the seed opener and packer wheel (#6) is slightly shorter than what is found on the 2-to-1 PHD seed opener. This tighter placement will help achieve consistent seed CONTOUR R AT I O placement even with sharp changes in topography.

The Mid Row Shank II provides one-pass fertilizer application with an edge-on style shank. The MRSII is an ideal option if residue clearance is not a primary concern for your farming operation. It also provides the critical mid row placement of nitrogen with less moving components than the coulter-style banders.

Double-Tapered Roller Bearing Hub

You can expect a long service life with the high capacity hub and spindle assembly. A triple-lip seal protects the hub bearing, and allows you to over-grease without seal damage. The bolton hub and spindle can be quickly removed for exchange or service.
Parallel Link Arrangement

The MRB body is mounted on parallel arms for a consistent disk attack angle and seed boot/liquid tube orientation regardless of its operating depth.

Shims on the hydraulic cylinder are used for setting the depth. (one " shim = " depth) Extra shims are stored on the top mounting pin for convenient access.
Closer Tine or Retaining Wheel Option

Option A - The outside closer tine is designed to help retain soil, and hold some residue against the disk during operation to clean the outside of the coulter so that it will cut a clean groove in the soil. Option B - If additional soil retention is desired (e.g. NH3 application) then consider the retaining wheel option. An adjustable torsion spring maintains down pressure of the floating rubber cleaner / retainer wheel.
Maintenance-Free Coulter Arm Pivots

The MRB arm pivots on 1" diameter nitride pins and 3" long greaseless composite fibre bushings. The nitride pivot pins will stand up for the life of the seeding system, even in hard or stony soils.
Fine Scraper Position Adjust (Behind Cast Mount)

The position of the scraper relative to the edge of the disk can be adjusted in fine 1/8" increments using plastic shims located on the scraper shaft. This fine adjustment ensures you have optimal results for the life of the disk.
Coarse Scraper Position Adjust

Loosen the mounting bolts to adjust the whole scraper/boot assembly. This allows you to maintain the optimal scraper-todisk and combo-boot positions.

Large caster wheels minimize the pounds per square inch pressure resulting in low compaction, very good transport handling ability, as well as exceptional floatation in wet conditions. The 5810-72 foot comes standard equipped with double walking 16.5L x 16.1 main frame tires and double 13.5L x 15 tires on inner and outer wings.
When time is of the essence, being able to set your seed depth quickly and accurately is a high priority. The 5810 AHD allows you to achieve optimal seed depth in minutes with the Quick Shift Depth Control system. Set, check, and adjust your seeding depth in minutes!

Reducing compaction is important to ensure that germination and plant growth is not impeded. When fully loaded, the 7950 can weigh up to 99,000 lb so compaction is kept down by the use of large 850/80 R38 tires. The tire provides a large footprint, especially when operating at an amazingly low 15 psi inflation pressure, front and rear. The combination of very large 90" diameter tires, and low ground pressure gives the 7950 very good floatation and minimizes draft loads, key factors when operating a tank this size.
The 7950 Air Seeder incorporates a new hydraulic metering system capable of driving up to 5 metering augers. The hydraulic drive motors provide near instant rate changes, an important feature to maximize the benefits of a variable rate seeding operation.

The X20 Monitor/Controller by Topcon is an optional system which performs monitor and controller functions simultaneously. The 8910 Cultivator incorporates walking in-frame running gear that is slightly biased to the back wheel. The front wheel will not have a tendency to dip down in wetter conditions, minimizing your chances of getting stuck. Research has proven that the ability to follow field contours is primarily related to frame depth and wheel positioning. The in-frame running gear also minimizes the distance to the front caster wheels, so you can achieve consistent seed depth in hilly conditions.
The outstanding design of the Bourgault Spring Trip Assembly features a grade eight pivot bolt and an extremely durable nylon bushing. The simple and durable design provides years of service with low maintenance, yet can be replaced easily, safely, and very economically using common hand tools.

A HITCH FIT FOR THE JOB
The 9800 hitch consists of a center beam designed to transfer all of the fertilizer / air seeder cart load directly to the tractor. Gang style poly-packers are ideal for 8810/8910 or 9400 seeding systems where moderate packing is required for breaking soil lumps and sealing the seedbed. The 20" diameter durable polyethylene packers are mounted on a 1" shaft and heavy-duty pillow block bearings.

Independent poly-packers provides even packing behind your 8810/8910 or 9400. Each wheel is mounted on a gang with its own spring cushion and sealed ball bearings. Independent movement on each wheel ensures more uniform packing for a more consistent crop emergence.

Achieve near-drill like packing results with your 10" spaced 8810/8910 seeding system. The 22" diameter packers are available in 2-" & 3-" steel, 2" & 3" semi-pneumatic, and 5-" wide pneumatic wheels. Mid Row Banders, or a weight kit are required to offset the weight of the packers.
Bourgault Titan Quick-Detach Arms are designed for quick and easy attachment or interchange of mounted harrows and packers to accomplish various operations with the same unit. You can manually adjust the down-force on each arm, and the two-stage spring arrangement ensures the set downforce remains constant regardless of the mounted option.

Standing stubble is invaluable to help trap snow for moisture, and help lock soil down to prevent erosion. The 6000 MidHarrow allows you to manage a wide range of residue conditions for trouble-free seeding, yet preserve the standing stubble for moisture retention and seedling protection. You can also set it for post-seeding harrowing without fear of dislodging planted seeds. The 6000 MidHarrow will be the most versatile harrow youll ever own.
The Double Acting Cable design provides the benefits of a cable and solid draw without any negative effects. Cables linking the wing booms to the front of the hitch take the working draft loads, and a pair of additional cables at the rear of the bar limit the forward movement of the wing booms.
EASY TO ADJUST AND CONTROL
The 6000 Mid-Harrow provides hydraulic control of down-force and section angle. Spring-loaded heavy-duty extension springs eliminate harrow bouncing even at high operating speeds. Tine angle is manually set from 41 to 81 on each harrow section, and the level of each section is automatically set as the tine angle is changed. Highly visible indicator gauges allow you to see at a glance how the bar is adjusted, making it easy to return to previous settings when adjusting to changing field conditions.
EXTENDED TINE LIFE

GRAIN CART
No other grain cart provides the same features as the 1200. The turret-style unloading auger, high floatation running gear, low hitch load and strong truss frame allows you to keep the grain moving and combines threshing, particularly in tough field conditions.

Eight floatation tires on a double walking axle assembly (front to back and side to side) will carry a full load at a low 38 psi with maximum stability and allow fast travel even in rough or wet fields. Choose from the 21.5L x 16.1 14-ply highway or lug style tires. The designed loaded hitch weight of only 3,200 lb will create less wear and tear on the tractor. Working lights are standard for operator safety at night and during transport. The unique turret-style auger allows producers to place grain accurately and top the load without
riding the tractor clutch. Because of the near horizontal position of the auger, there is virtually no chance of contact with the truck box.
The efficient truss design is more than strong enough to take a full load through wet fields and uneven terrain. A unique soft start belt drive system is used to engage the drag auger and ensure smooth operation. An optional electronic weight scale and printer allows you to track and record yields and inventory accurately.

The Bourgault Cone Bottom LFCs are available in 1800, 2400, or 3000 US Gallon sizes. The LFC incorporates a 5th wheel style front axle, with a highly durable polymer wear pad separating the large plates. The front axle pivots on a lubricated pin and bushing system that offers a long life and trouble-free operation. A heavy-duty electric clutch engages the ground driven pump. The operator does not have to manually disconnect a drive shaft for transport, which is the case on some competitive units. You have a choice between a 34 gpm or 68 gpm rate ground driven piston pump. The optional 3" mounted transfer pump with Honda 6.5 hp engine will fill the tank in minutes.
The large 20-" diameter coulter disks are effective at cutting through tough field residue such as corn, sunflower, or soybean stubble. Seed directly into pasture land without pre-working the soil, allowing you to minimize soil disturbance and preserve existing moisture. The all-coulter 5925 creates less soil throw, allowing you to seed effectively at higher speeds than conventional air hoe drills. Equip the 5925 with MRBIII applicators for optimal location of nitrogen fertilizer in a one-pass seeding operation.
