The Festival of Unleavened Bread. Ex. 12: 15 20, Lev. 23:1-8.

I.

Most of the Religious world is familiar with the Festival of Pesach/Passover, but, few, comparatively, understand the Prophetic significance of this Holy Convocation. We will examine it thoroughly and uncover the hidden things that belong to those who will search them out! The first question is where does the term unleavened bread come from and why were we required to eat it? Ex. 12: 8 gives the commandment from YHVH regarding it, but this is before they left Egypt and the following verses tell us they killed the Passover lamb per those instructions. Yet, did they not prepare the Matzah? There seems to be a contradiction between here and Ex. 12: 39. To properly understand we need to know the difference between leavened bread and Matzah. What is the difference between chametz (leaven) and matzah? Time. Nothing else. The ingredients are the same. By definition, dough made of flour and water that stands for more than 18 minutes before it is fully baked becomes chametz, leaven. Since Israel had time to roast a lamb and prepare the bitter herbs there was no reason not to have Matzah. It would seem that the controversy is eliminated when we understand the Festivals as two separate and distinct convocations! Israel fully expected to spend the entire night celebrating the redemption of the First-Born and leave the following morning, thus only preparing an amount sufficient for that celebration and then upon the urging of Egypt, they left in haste with their dough upon their shoulders. Why a lamb, bitter herbs, and Matzah? It becomes evident as we study Torah and history, that Israels vocation as shepherds was not held in esteem by Egypt. Why? In Egyptian mythology, Khnum (Also spelled Chnum, Knum, or Khnemu) was one of the earliest Egyptian deities, originally the god of the source of the Nile River. Since the annual flooding of the Nile brought with it silt and clay, and its water brought life to its surroundings, he was thought to be the creator of the bodies of human children, which he made at a potter's wheel, from clay, and placed in their mothers' wombs. He later was

described as having molded the other deities, and he had the titles Divine Potter and Lord of created things from himself. It is interesting to remember in Ex. 1:16 the account of the Midwives and the mothers of Israel who birthed their children on birthing stools, which is the same word used in Hebrew for Potters wheel. #70,

' oben, stool, wheel, etc. and is spelled the same as the word for Stone, eben,
Alef-Beit-Nun. The Alef indicating I will, while the Beit-Nun spells son. Thus, upon the Stone/Rock, I will son you! Is it possible this is another reason Egypt hated Israel because of the connection to their go Khnum? It was also during this month associated with the Zodiacal sign of Taleh The Lamb (Aries), that the Nile was at its fullest! Furthermore, "chametz" itself may have been a symbol of Egyptian culture. It is well known among archeologists the art of making leaven was first developed in Egypt, and it was the Egyptians who perfected the process of 'bread-making'. Thus, another attack upon a symbol of Egyptian culture and religion! So, what exactly is happening in Ex. 12: 34? II. And the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneadingtroughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

Vayisa ha'am et-betseko terem yechmats mish'arotam tsrurot besimlotam al-shichmam. Dough, #1217, batseq, translated dough; it comes from a word meaning swollen. *Note the Alef-Tav (Connected by a hyphen). Leaven, #2556, chamets, it is translated here as, leavened. However, it is also seen in Is. 63:1 and infers to be stained red. This is interesting, because this Person, who comes from Edom (Adam) with his garments stained red from Bozrah (The Sheepfold), is none other than Messiah! Kneading troughs, #4863, mish'ereth, a kneading trough or bowl, from #7604, saar, a verb meaning to remain, to be left over. It can also mean leaven or yeast. #7607, seer, is also spelled the same and means flesh, meat,

body, blood relative, or kindred. It is the root of the word Basar (#1320) meaning flesh. Bound Up, #6887, tsarar, a verb meaning to bind up, to tie up, to be distressed. It can also mean an enemy, an adversary, an oppressor a rival. As in a second wife (Lev. 18:18) The Vexer! There is a curious, hidden twist to the gematria of this word 490, which is associated with the 70x7 weeks of Jacobs troubles seen in Daniel. During this period, in particular the last week of years known as Tribulation, the Harlot of Babylon will become the Vexer of Israel. It is worth noting that at the end of Israels bondage in Egypt, YHVH sent a deliver, Moshe, born of Amram and Jochebed YHVH is Glory. Yah Kabad! She is known as: Jochebed, daughter of Levi. YHVH is the glory of the Bat (Beit-house) (Tav-Covenant) Levi - Joined to Him! This phrase = 490 and is the gematria of the word #8549, tamiym, meaning blameless, complete, perfect. Again, out of the midst of bondage will come one who is blameless before YHVH. The Bride. Clothes, #8071, simlah, a fem. Noun meaning clothing, a garment. It is from the root of #5566, semel, a masc. noun meaning statue, image, and idol. It conveys the idea of the covering taking the shape (image) of whats beneath it! Our own bodies, both fleshly and spiritually, take on the shape/nature of the image, or god within. Whether YHVH or the Fallen One. Shoulders, #7926, shkem, shoulder, upper back. It can also infer to pack and go on a journey. It is easy to see from the English how the Israelites left in a hurry carrying their dough covered from exposure while traveling. Yet, the Hebrew language conveys a hidden, spiritual emphasis as well: Israel, while in Egypt, had become conformed to the image of Egypt taking on the spiritual form or nature of Egypts Fallen Gods. This journey represented a New Life, a spiritual transformation (Rom. 12: 1-3) the dough they carried, a metaphor representing their own bodies, redeemed by the One who took on their Leavened Flesh/Body and shed His Blood to purchase them. The New Dough in the garment indicating their transformation from a vexer wife, who had been an enemy to their husband, to the virtuous bride now on this journey! Remember the lament of Paul in Rom. 7 regarding the Body of death? This sack of leavened dough known as our flesh that we carry around with us brings death. However, the Law of the Spirit of Life in Messiah Yahshua frees us from its clutches!

The Feast of Unleavened Bread commemorates and rehearses this journey for us! From Gen. 3 where the Lamb is slain to transform us, our journey began, until the end of this age there will be 7 days 7,000 years, where the leaven of sin is to be removed from these houses. Each time we commemorate this festival our journey should be renewed in earnest as we search the house for the hidden leaven that Father has revealed. The First Unleavened Bread Rehearsal. III. A little detective work should help us see the pattern established by this rehearsal. The Hebrew language makes it clear that the first Passover was took place in Gen. 4: 3 where Abel and Cain bring their respective offerings. The Key phrase being, in the process of time, The Mem prefix means the origin, source. While the Qof-Tzade root, #7093, Qetz, means an end of time, a finish, a certain point reached in time, the conclusion of a set time. Thus, it is clear they were familiar with the calculations of the Rehearsal calendar and when to bring the specified offering for Pesach. Ironically, the gematria of the phrase equals 361, the same as the Hebrew word, #5387, nasiy, lifted up, a Prince. (The Lifted Up Prince?) It also hints at a debt owed. Thus, He is lifted up for the debt owed. This is the whole premise behind Passover! Well, what about The Festival of Unleavened Bread? How could this be demonstrated in Gen. 4? You can see the same pattern. Cain is told that sin leaven, lies at the door. His refusal to deal with the Chametz is revealed in his Fallen Countenance, the Paniym Naphal, His face took the shape of the god within him the Nephyilim or Fallen One, just like the dough carried in Israels garments! Another interesting event that occurs during this Festival is seen in Gen. 8: 4 where the Ark built by Noah comes to rest on the 17th day of the 7th month. This would have been before the Calendar change of Ex. 12 and thus, the 7th month would have been the month of Aviv or Nissan, and the 17th day, the day known as Yom Habikkorim, or early first-fruits, the day Yahshua would have been resurrected. Just as the Waters of the Red Sea are divided allowing the Bride to emerge unscathed upon dry land, the Ark rests upon the dry ground. The Ark rested in the mountains of Ararat, #780, 'Ararat, which means Curse Reversed. Here again, we see Noah and his sons beginning a journey after the penalty of the Bitter Waters is satisfied, the curse reversed. They are given an opportunity to shoulder their dough without leaven I.E. carry their flesh

throughout the journey without sin! The 150 days mentioned above are also significant, because their gematria is the same as the root of Joseph, #3254, yasap, to increase, to do again. And he was 17 when sold into bondage! This is another picture of the House of Israel Joseph who was sold into bondage in Egypt, in order to redeem his brothers. Yahshua follows the pattern, going down into Egypt (literally) and into the bowels of Hell (spiritual Egypt) in order to restore the Garment of Joseph, allowing him to carry this dough-body, without the leaven of sin in it! Seventeen is an interesting number; it is the gematria of #2328, hug, which means to encircle, a circle, a vault the horizon. It refers to the vault of the heavens like that shown to Abraham in Gen. 15. It is also the root of #2282, hag, the word meaning festival, to whirl in a circle, to twirl about joyously! See Is. 40:22 Where [It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers the word for grasshopper, #2284, chagab comes from this same root. Thus, it is fitting that the Giants Nephylim of Canaan referred to Israel as grasshoppers those who twirl about, keeping the record of the message written in the vault of the heavens and who refuse to change their fleshly garments into that of the Serpent Seed. They understood the implications of the Festival of Unleavened Bread! Incidentally, there are 42 letters in Gen. 8:4. The number of months given to the Anti-Messiah to wear out the saints. The number of stations Israel encounter during their wilderness journey. Is it a coincidence this future Nimrod ruler of the Last Days Babylon, the Wanderer, who like Cain, failed to remove the leaven, has a name that has a numeric value of 294, (7x42), the same value as Melchizedek? One chose to remove the leaven of Sin, the other embraced it and is clothed with a garment that identifies him as one resembling the Fallen One. The pattern is clear. Once we celebrate Passover, our journey begins anew! Like the illustrations above, we walk our days out removing the leaven of sin from this house!
