CONSISTENTLY EFFICIENT

More traction allround.

Unbounded use. The range of possible uses for MAN HydroDrive through to special-purpose. Tippers, concrete transport mixers and pumps, roll-off or set-down skip trucks, gully emptiers or fire engines, tankers or silos MAN HydroDrive is a convincing solution

Efficiency from MAN HydroDrive :

payload advantages over classic all-wheel drive more traction through extra driving of the front axle, forward and reverse selection of the hydrostatic front-wheel drive also while moving no increased fuel consumption weight saving of 400 kg compared to conventional all-wheel greater flexibility in vehicle use improved driving safety, better tracking on unconsolidated ground, downhill too time and cost savings by not getting stuck and having to be towed free more manoeuvrability than a mechanically driven front axle little maintenance (oil change every 120,000 km or two years) no influence on bodywork height, cab and wheelbase MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group Postfach 50 06 20 D-80976 Mnchen www.man-mn.com A member of the MAN Group D111.3427/E ??07091 Printed in Germany Text and illustrations not binding. covers the whole market from long-haul transport

for all sectors and all kinds of transport with the need for extra traction. The MAN selection presents the matching variety. MAN HydroDrive vehicles range from two- through three- to four-axle solutions. And something else the user will appreciate MAN HydroDrive introduces no restrictions in

bodywork height, manoeuvrability, choice of cab or axles.

More traction. More exibility. More safety.

A wonder of traction efficiency.

Innovation prizes for MAN HydroDrive

More traction but no added weight. Lower fuel consumption and higher payload than on conventional all-wheel vehicles thats the kind of efficiency you get with unique MAN HydroDrive .

traction is briefly needed on the frontaxle, such as when driving into and out of unsurfaced forest tracks and earth roads, on slopes andslippery surfaces. In all these situations MAN HydroDrive is the answer to producing more traction, proper propulsion both forward and reverse.

The selectable, hydraulic front-axle drive is ideal for road vehicles that are occasionally required to work off-road. And for circumstances where extra

More traction at a flick of the wrist. You engage the hydrostatic front-axle drive by the rotary switch for the differential lock, and even while driving under load. From a speed of about 30 km/h upwards it cuts out automatically if speed drops below 22 km/h it automatically cuts in again. Once front-axle drive is active, a check lamp on the central display lights up to inform the driver. When driving downhill with HydroDrive engaged, the retarder also acts on the front axle to stabilize the vehicle. Ruggedly engineered. In MAN HydroDrive a hydraulic pump is seated on the gearbox output shaft to feed the wheel hub motors on the front axle. In terms of fuel consumption and wear, this ingeniously simple, rugged and maintenance-friendly technology is comparable to conventional rear-wheel drive: an attractive 400 kg weight-saving, the transfer case is done away with, only the rear wheels are driven on-road, the hydraulic pump and wheel motors produce no friction. In an all-wheel drive, by contrast, the transmission elements keep turning even when the front-axle drive is disengaged. A combination of the HydroDrive with the unique MAN PriTarder on the TGS series still produces maximum braking power regardless of vehicle speed. More active safety and substantially reduced service brake wear mean extra efficiency in transport operations. 6x4H/4, BLS 6x4H/2, BLS 6x4H-2 BL, BLS 6x4H-4 BL 4x4H BL, BLS
