Honeywell Users Group Asia Pacific Symposium 2012 Competition for University & College Students Innovative Use

of UniSim Design for Industry Applications Students will use the Honeywell UniSim Design Suite to create a process design to solve a critical plant business issue. Students must demonstrate creativity, innovation, and detail the benefits derived from their solution. Competition Rules The Asia Pacific HUG 2012 competition is open to any student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in Australia, New Zealand, Korea, India, Japan, China and South East Asia with a Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering and/or Heat Transfer Department. A supervising or advising faculty member must sponsor each entry; faculty member must review and approve the students entry before it is submitted and affirm that the student wrote the paper him/herself. The submitted abstract and presentation should highlight the problem solved using UniSim Design, details of the experiment, describe why the approach is innovative, and the main benefits of the project. The winner (accompanied by his/her supervisor/advisory faculty member) will present at the Honeywell Users Group meeting from 5 - 9 August 2012. The core format for presentation is Microsoft PowerPoint. The Honeywell Users Group presentation template will be sent to participants when they have confirmed their notice of intent to compete. Secondary/supporting materials can be delivered by means of You Tube or Facebook video uploads. A panel of Honeywell and customer user experts will judge entries and select one winner. The judging panel will also award up to 5 consolation prizes. Student with the winning entry will be notified by email on 30 June 2012. Students awarded consolation prizes will be notified by email on 30 June 2012.

Awards and Benefits for the Winner & Sponsor Paid attendance to the annual Honeywell Users Group Asia Pacific for the winning student and their supervisor. Includes registration fee, transportation and accommodation. Consolation Awards and Benefits for up to 5 Students & Sponsors Paid attendance to one of two Honeywell Advanced UniSim Design Training Courses. Travel and expenses not included. Requirements for Participation Abstract of the presentation (no more than 300 words) is due as notice of intent to participate no later than 30 April 2012. Submission of the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation (no more than 20 slides) is due no later than 31 May 2012. The abstract can be submitted online. Additional Rules & Regulations There will be no financial or monetary rewards of any kind. If a team submits a winning entry, only one of the winning teams members will present at HUG 2012. If a team is awarded a consolation prize, only one of the winning teams members will attend the training course. The judges retain the right to declare the contest void if the submitted papers do not fulfill the eligibility expectations. The judges decision is final. The winner will be announced at http://www.honeywellusersgroup.com/ and https://www.honeywellprocess.com/en-US/news-and-events/usersgroup/pacific/Pages/default.aspx in July 2012, including the name(s) of the winning entry, author, faculty sponsor, and university. Honeywell retains the right to publish or distribute the winning and runner-up papers and photos through any electronic and physical form. The winner is expected to attend 2012 Asia Pacific HUG and present his/her paper. Nonattendance implies resignation of the prize. Participation implies full acceptance of stated rules. For situations not covered herein, the Honeywell judging panel will rule, considering as the top priority the equal chances of winning for all participants.
