community members, plain laziness in segregating of wastes and no strict implementation of the policy by Local Officials. Recommendations In relation with the findings and conclusions of this research, the following are recommended: 1. The barangay officials should give proper information dissemination regarding R.A. 9003 by having a weekly reminder from the officials to the residents to segregate their wastes, make additional posters regarding proper waste segregation together with the incentives and penalties of R.A. 9003. 2. Since there is no significant difference in terms of age and gender, the barangay should come up with programs that would maintain their level of compliance and would boost their attitude towards waste management. Some of the programs that would help in maintaining and improving the level of compliance of the residents are education and awareness seminars of all the residents involving the at least two (2) members of every household. 3. The barangay officials should strictly implement R.A. 9003 so that the residents will fully comply with the law. There is a need for Camp 7 to have an MRF where the barangay captain/official is there to guard and monitor if the wastes are properly segregated. Retraining of officials is also highly recommended. The local government unit should first conduct a

Waste Analysis and Characterization Survey (WACS) to determine the root cause of improper solid waste management. This will lead to the coming up of programs and seminars to further link and develop the awareness of the residents in proper waste segregation. The barangay must designate individuals who will look at the dumping areas before, during and after garbage collection. The Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman must come up with activities engaging youth towards environmental stewardship. There should be individual who will patrol in the remote areas as well as collecting their waste. There should be organization of volunteers to help the officials in implementing R.A. 9003 and there should also be the enforcement of political will of leaders. 4. Future researchers should consider the span of time that the residents have stayed in the Barangay, their education and number of members in the family. They should also consider other barangays and do comparison.
