Method Statement for Flushing and Chemical Cleaning

Flushing and chemical cleaning is done as in following stages.

1. Plain Flushing Stage 2. Chemical Cleaning Stage 3. Post Chemical cleaning 4. Final Chemical Treatment

1. Plain Water Flushing Stage :

Heat exchangers are isolated from the circuit by providing a bypass line. All the isolating valves in the supply/return branches to floor are closed. All the control valves , DPCV valves and Flow meters will be replaced with distance piece before starting of flushing to avoid any damages . All FCus and FahuS Isolation valves will be closed before first flushing. All Stariners are to be in position and to be clean before flushing.

Water will be filled in riser and the pumps will be started for flushing. First the dynamic flushing will be done only for the riser and water will be
drained at the lowest point particals etc. till the water gets free from major debris,

Water will be drained totally from riser and fresh water will be filled in the
system for 2nd stage of the flushing. All strainers will be cleaned again and Isolation valves at each floors will be opened except FCUs , FAHUs Isolation valve. Again pump will be started and flushing will be done through riser & floor main header and water will be drained at lowest point till water gets free from small debris & particals. Same procedure will be repeated with all FCUs and AHUs valve opened and water will be continuously drained and water sample will be taken and will be tested at laboratory for the water quality analysis.

Chemical Suppliers Engineers will analyze the sample of water being

drained and will submit the report and confirm the system readiness prior to chemical cleaning. Finally total water will be drained out from the system drain valve will be closed.

2. Chemical Cleaning Stage

Method Statement for Flushing and Chemical Cleaning

It is mandatory to check that all drain valves are closed before proceeding to chemical cleaning of the system.

Tag is marked at each drain point to avoid opening of drain point by

mistake during chemical circulation.

Partly

fill the system with water then add the chemical B-16 in ratio

sujjested by the chemical suppliers and then fill the system completely with plain water.

Circulation with cleaning chemical will be continued for a minimum period of

24 hours.

Chemical Suppliers Engineers will take samples of water periodically at

every 24 hrs and analyze the water quality for iron levels prior to confirming the completion of chemical cleaning stage.

3. Post Chemical Flushing Stage Dynamic flushing of the system with plain water for at least 8-10 hrs
through drain points will done until all the chemical residuals are removed from the system and water is cleared.

Chemical Supplier will take two samples at 3 hrs Interval will submit their
report. Water will be drained out from the system.

4. Final Treatment
All strainers will be cleaned , all drain valves will be closed and all system valves will be Installed i.e DPCV valves, Flow meters .

After getting chemical suppliers report the system will be filled again with
fresh water for final treatment.

Initial dosage of the corrosion inhibitor CLT 407 will be added to the fresh
water at the range of minimum 700 ppm nitrite.

Microbioside ML 13G will be added at the range of 100 ppm approximately. Automatic conductivity based dosing system and manual dosing pot will be
connected to the system.

Provide sufficient treatment for initial fill .

Chemical Supplier will submit final report on chemical cleaning.
