His sacrifice and resurrection, yielding a gospel for the whole world. The risen Lord in ministry to his own. 3. What Old Testament covenants does the Gospel of Matthew connect Christ? The Abrahamic & Davidic covenants. 4. What is Repentance? Repentance is a change of mind expressed in a reversal of ones attitude towards God, self and sin.

5. What is meant by the Kingdom of Heaven? The earth rule of Jesus Christ, as Son of David 6. How would you interpret Christs baptism? An example of righteousness. Also the fulfillment of a type.

7. What was the object of Satan in the three-fold temptation of Christ? Satans purpose, Satan manner. He challenges Christ deity. Christ defense: The intelligent use of scripture.

8. What do we learn from Christs conduct in these temptations? The earth rule of Jesus Christ as son of God.

9. What was the purpose of the Sermon on the Mount? Its constitution for that of Israel and the church, respectively.

10. What is meant by the Kingdom of God? Universal sphere of moral intelligence, willingly subject to the will of God.

19. What is the new birth? A necessary factor because of sin. Not a reformation of the old nature, but a creative act of the Holy Spirit.

20. Explain the three-fold shepherd ministry of Christ. The good Shepherd. He gave his life for his sheep. The great Shepherd. He is brought again from the dead to care for and to protect the sheep. The Chief Shepherd. He is coming again to reward the faithful under shepherds.

21. What do we learn from the manner in which certain Gentiles approached Christ? Other instances of Gentiles approach will teach unworthiness and Christs ability to undertake for us.

22. What is the meaning of the Greek word Parakletos. One called alongside to help.
