Introduction: Job satisfaction has been defined as a pleasurable emotional state resulting from the appraisal of ones job; an effective reaction to ones job; and an attitude towards ones job. The Job Satisfaction has got tremendous attention in organizational research. The purpose of this research is to find out the impact of different variables like wages, job attitude, work time and autonomy on job satisfaction. There is significant and positive relationship between job satisfaction and variables like wages, job attitude, work time and autonomy (Hunjra, Chani, Aslam, Azam, & Rehman, 2010). Job satisfaction of workers means a work force that is motivated and committed to high quality performance. Increase productivity- the quantity and quality of out put per hour worked- seems to be a byproduct of improved quality of working life. Job satisfaction is an important, readily available measure of the workers utility derived from the job. It allows the identification of those characteristics which have a differential impact on the workers utility. This is important since higher job satisfaction is likely to result in higher performance at work, decreased absenteeism and tardiness (Lawler & Porter, 2008).

For instance, in human resource management there is an emphasis on policies which increase overall job satisfaction in order to succeed in reducing labor turnover and/or in raising labor productivity. There are a number of empirical studies which investigate the effect of individual and job characteristics on job satisfaction although the effect of any individual or job characteristic on workers job satisfaction is also dependent on a number of features like institutions or social norms show that workers who work in small firms report higher job satisfaction levels compared to those working in large firms (Poza & Poza, 2000). Wages: The effect of wages on job satisfaction is positive, significant and large (Lydon & Arnaud 2002). The research is conducted to further find out the impact of wages in employees satisfaction level in banks operating in Peshawar. Increase in wages and decrease in wages has any effect on employee satisfaction level or not, is the purpose of this research. Job Attitude: The degree to which a job provides substantial freedom, independence and discretion of the employee in scheduling work and in determining procedures to be used in executing a particular job (Dawal & Taha, 2006). The purpose of studying job attitude in this research is to find out whether a positive attitude toward a job leads to employee satisfaction or not. Similarly negative attitude leads to dissatisfaction will be studied in this research. Work Time: The more flexible work time is the higher employees are dissatisfied and the more work time is relaxed the greater employees are satisfied (Krings, Nierling, Pedaci & Piersanti, 2009).
