The weight room requires using multiple muscles repeatedly. We want the students to work on correct form and technique instead of working on 1 rep max. The students will complete their workout each day using different methods of lifting. Students will have to work on their endurance to complete their workout. (1 minute): Roll call for class Description and management: In the main gym I have students stand on a line and in a line. I then go down the row and check if the students are in attendance or not.

(8 minutes) Locker Room Duty Description and management: The students change into their P.E. uniform while I supervise from the office and make sure everything goes accordingly. I also have to give out locker combinations. (3 minutes) Warm up Description and management: The students will meet in front of the weight room and begin stretching until the teacher walks into the field house. Once the teacher is in the field house the students take two laps around the track. (1 minute) Set induction Description and management: I will instruct the students to stretch before lifting. I will also inform the students that they need to keep a log of their activity. I will show the students where all the agility equipment is located. Since there are new students to the class I will inform them that they need to come see me for weight room instruction. I will then release them to their workouts. -Since it is the first day of the unit I will be go over the different machines and free weight lifts that happen in the weight room. I will show them proper form and technique. I will also cover safety precautions so the students know the expectations of the class. (20 minutes) Activity 1 Description and management: The students will continue their workout program. Students will complete an array of different lifts. Some students are on a school sport program and some students made their own. Some students workout include agility and some sort of cool down. Task Development: Students will progress in their ability to correctly perform lifts. The techniques and form should increase as time passes. We want them to not substitute more weight for poor technique. As the year progresses the students should increase their ability to lift more weight properly. Extension (E): Different lift that works same muscle Same equipment for different uses Refinements (R): Keep a flat back Bend knees Breathe Use appropriate weight Applications (A): Can you do 10 reps of a lower weight? Can you do 1 rep of max weight? (4 minutes) Activity 2 Description and management: I will cover a muscle group and what lifts work those muscles. I will ask them if they know of any other lifts that I did not mention.

Task Development: I will have student demonstrators to show the rest of the students that a peer is able to do the exercise and not just a teacher. Extension (E): A different way to do the same lift Different equipment for the same lift Refinements (R) Flat back Bent knees Eye forward Breath Applications Can you do more reps with a lower weight? Can you do the lift in a different position? (1 minute) Closure I will thank them for their participation and dismiss them from class. (8 minutes) Locker Room Duty Description and management: Students change from their P.E. uniform into their regular clothes. I stay in the office and supervise to make sure everything goes smoothly.
