RESEARCH PAPER GUIDELINES


1. The study should: a. Identify and describe the magnitude of a health problem in Indonesia b. Identify social determinant/s that affect the health problem c. Describe the impact of the social determinant/s on thehealth problem i. Is it aggravating or alleviating the problem? How? d. Formulate evidence-based solution/s to the health problem by addressing primarily its social determinant/s e. Highlight the role of medical students in implementing solution/s 2. At least one (1) of the following research methods must be utilized in the identification and assessment of magnitude of the health problem and its social determinant/s: a. Community diagnosis or population survey tools b. Qualitative research methods such as focus group discussion (FGD) and key informant interview (KII) c. Quantitative analytic study designs (e.g. cross sectional, case-control and cohort study design) 3. The proposed evidence-based solution/s to the problem may be: a. Original

b. Adapted from international projects c. A previously existing small-scale local community project 4. HEALTH CAMPAIGN GUIDELINES


1. The health campaign includes the following categories: a. Public Poster b. Photo-Essay c. Film 2. The health campaign materials can illustrate any of the following: a. The magnitude of a health problem in Indonesia b. The social determinant/s that affect the health problem c. The impact of the social determinant/s on thehealth problem 3. The health campaign materials should inspire and promote actions and/or solutions to the health problem by addressing its social determinants 4. The health campaign materials should NOT contain any element that incite or promote violence of any kind. 5. A maximum of one (1) film, two (2) public poster and three (3) photography entries are allowed to represent Indonesia ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 1. Public Poster a. Essay i. File Format - Microsoft Word Document in [.doc] or [.docx] format ii. Language - English (If local words are used, English translations must be provided) iii. Late submission of entrance requirements. 2. Failure to comply with the guidelines (e.g. prescribed file name format). 3. Plagiarism FINAL NOTES 1. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable. 2. The Organizing Committee has the right to amend the guidelines above. 3.
