The programme to be based on action and adult learning principles, and to consist of four, equally-weighted components. Three residential modules, of around seven days each, introduce participants to a set of inter-related frameworks of Islamic Leadership practice. These frameworks together encourage critical thinking and reflection on participants' own leadership practice as well as providing ideas about how to strengthen it. Each of the three modules involves a range of tasks allowing the application, testing and refinement of new ideas and approaches to leadership. Each module to be accompanied by a series of inter-modular tasks and assignments which require participants to apply the Islamic Leadership practice frameworks to issues in their

own workplaces, and to reflect on their evolving leadership practice. The fourth and final module then allows integration of the skills and knowledge gained in the earlier modules, by introducing action learning principles and approaches. Following the module, participants then implement an action-learning research project focussed on a substantial leadership problem in their workplaces. 7. Full-length, period piece Feature film of Shkh Yusuf of Macassar: The story of the late Sheikh Yusuf of Macasar is one of the most important stories from an Islamic and South African perspective as it has both historical and religious significance. The tonality of this film will highlight the life of the sheikh as a prince and why he was banished to SA. It will also show how and why he used his influence to start propagating Islam in the Western Cape and why today the Cape is recognized as such a strong bastion of Islam. Through the eyes of the sheikh we journey to the deeps of his challenges and triumphs for Islam.

In order to make this film appealing to our audiences we have to create a story within a story, undertones so surreal that people can relate to. These elements should echo the essence of life as it was then and how it is today through the storytelling! The film will be packed with a star-studded ensemble cast made up of local and international actors to help create a platform for cross over audience appeal. Story Synopsis - : Prince Yusuf was a Muslim leader who had come before his time, a hero who stood up to the mighty colonial powers which at that time was the Dutch East India Company. A hero who championed the cause of his people and turned indigent communities to self sustaining, economically active and educationally enlightened masses. This is why the Dutch who arrived in the East on the pretext of trading, but whose real intentions were to colonies the entire East wanted to dispose of the free thinking leader. Sheik Yusuf resisted a de-facto take over and through a web of deception was taken into custody and whisked aboard a ship and banished to Cape Town South Africa. The handsome, powerfully built man whose presence dominated the environment in which he found himself was regarded as the true leader on the Southern tip of Africa. Top Dutch officials suffered the indignity of always being in his shadow, for while Sheik Yusuf was in banishment, the majority of people treated him as their leader. When the Dutch issued a decree, which was not acceptable to the people, Sheik Yusuf stood up and led the resistance. He was a man who was unarmed, yet the Dutch who had the most sophisticated weapons at the time were virtually helpless against him. A freedom fighter that offered an alternative lifestyle to the Dutch, one of the first things Sheik Yusuf did was to have scholars who had committed the Quran to memory to put it down on paper, The practice of Islam was forbidden in the Cape. The penalty was death the Dutch took great pleasure in slitting the throats of those people who insisted in reading the Quran openly. It was a battle for the hearts and minds of the people, the Dutch used their military might to keep control, yet the powerbase was eroded by an unarmed man who preached equality and peaceful co-existence. Sheik Yusuf did not claim to have any special divine powers, but people took to him, children surrounded him and often the sick and infirm were brought to him for treatment. He was able to get his message across to many members of the Dutch community, some of whom reverted to Islam. While the Dutch tried to segregate the people, Sheik Yusuf preached and encouraged integration with a quality lifestyle. The Dutch became extremely worried and wanted to have Sheik Yusuf restricted, but they failed because of his popular support. Sheik Yusuf ran what could have been the first informal university in the Cape teaching his students the sciences, religion and the arts. His own self-development as a spiritual being and his ability to cross from one cosmos to another is still spoken in awe.
